We did review the photos and video you provided, including the measurement of the 30" side, and we understand that you took care to measure the box before shipping. When a carrier applies a dimensional adjustment, we have to review the evidence against the carrier’s measurement and rounding requirements. In this case, after reviewing the documentation provided, the adjustment was upheld based on those requirements. That doesn’t mean we automatically side with the carrier or dismiss the measurements provided by our customers—we investigate the documentation available to us and make our determination based on the applicable shipping requirements. We also recognize that our response could have done a better job explaining *why* the adjustment was upheld rather than simply directing you back to the measurement policy. We had a little mix up on one of the three flights I have recently bought. Justin did a great job resolving. You have taken care of different flights of my bikes from three different residences . Always have done a great job.? The mix up was not bike flight but shipper.
I love bike flights but haven't needed…
I love bike flights but haven't needed to use them in a few years. I've now used them twice in the last couple weeks. I've given one star to get their attention and that of would-be users. UPS has retroactively charged me for "inaccurate box dimensions" on both of my recent boxes. On a wheel box, the stated measurement was 26", the actual dimension was 26 1/4" and UPS charged an additional fee of nearly $30 their measurement of 27". On the other box, the email claiming a wrong dimension was delayed long enough to where the shipping box had been recycled already and a remeasurement couldn't be taken. The upcharge was $50 in this case. To avoid surprises, round up, even if the measurement is barely over the nearest inch, and take pictures of the measurement. I"m skeptical of UPS practices, their measurements, and the delayed response to bike flights. This is frustrating.

Great experience
I had a great experience shipping my son’s bike to him across the country. Bikeflights was easy to use, communicated clearly and certainly earned my trust. It was also less expensive than I’d expected. I had my local bike shop dismantle and box the bike and bikeflights took care of the rest. I would certainly recommend them!

I had my bike boxed at a bike shop which charged $85. Bikeflights online site works great, After filling out the usual requirements the labels were generated and the box was picked up and delivered by UPS. Easy peazy!
