Hi Dylan, Based on your communications, we’ve determined you used our EconomyPlate solid carbon fiber to carve a knife handle. Although EconomyPlate is beautiful and strong, we do not recommend using it for contoured surface machining, such as knife handles, because of the course tow in the matrix. We have developed a laminate called ArtisanPlate specifically for surface machining, such as knife handles. We know you have used this material previously and were pleased with the results. You informed our sales staff that you used EconomyPlate because it was less expensive. We suggest you return to ArtisanPlate, which is designed for your specific application and has given you excellent results in the past.
