The Customer Care agent (Roman), was good but unable to help me with my problem. We created Help Cindy Teruz Fundraiser - after having alll our frinds generously donate money we were told that the page was put on hold for account verification due to the country (Venezuela) was under a economy embargo - If we knew this was going to be a problem we would have rather due all the checking before page activation - now aal our friends are wondering what happened to the page. GoFundMe should do all checking before activate a page to make there are no issues to avoid any misunderstanding from the Fundraiser and the donators. Now we have to wait for the department in charge of verification du there due diligence

We cannot get our funds transferred to…
We cannot get our funds transferred to our bank account. We have tried for five days. We continue to try and escalate and get help but no one seems to be able to help us. We wanted to talk to someone but all they do is either send us to AI or a text or email. And we’re not getting any help. Please can someone call us or talk to us in person because the way it is working right now is a complete failure. Our son died and we’re trying to pay for his memorial service and all we’re getting is an email a day with no help or explanation.
Trying to set up the withdrawals from the account, and it was WAY more trouble than it was worth. I finally had to refund the ONE donation that was received and close the fundraiser. I have to say that the staff who tried to help me were very nice and did what they could, but it just became futile to try to continue the process. After three days of trying, I quit!

When you open up an account
When you open up an account, make sure that the email that you opened it up in is also the email you list for contacting you or you will not be able to withdraw your funds. Then GFM has to return your funds and you have to ask your donators to re-donate. Two, it takes a while for the transfers to go through and actually be deposited into your account.

My primary concern stems from the significant delay in addressing the hold placed on my fundraiser and the subsequent lack of effective support when I sought assistance prior to my event. I made multiple attempts to contact GoFundMe, including trying to reach a higher level of management, well in advance of "World Elder Awareness Day," which took place on June 15, 2026, Unfortunately, these efforts were met with automated responses and a general inability to secure the timely intervention needed. The explanation of being "overwhelmed" does not adequately address the financial and logistical challenges this created for me.
As a result of these delays and the inability to access the raised funds in a timely manner, I was forced to use personal, low-income funds to cover the expenses for the event. This situation has caused considerable financial strain and distress. Activating the fundraiser now, after the event has already concluded and significant personal resources have been expended, does not, regrettably, provide a workable solution for the losses I have already incurred.
Furthermore, the extended hold on the funds caused confusion and frustration among my donors, many of whom questioned why the fundraising remained inaccessible for over twelve days, even past the event date. This reflects poorly on the platform and undermines the trust essential for successful fundraising.
Given the substantial personal investment I made and the lack of resolution for the issues encountered, I intend to consult with a legal advisor to explore potential avenues for recourse. It is my belief that no one should have to endure such a challenging and unassisted experience when attempting to utilize your Platform

Poor customer relations and communication
After i created my account and was urged to immediately send my link to all contacts and social media, which I did. Then got an email saying my account was on hold for review for up to 3 days. That's the last I heard from them, made numerous attempts to contact them and got nothing. Embarrassing to post my GoFundMe page and get negative feedback from folks that tried to click on it and failed.
When i started this fundraising for my Nephew Andrew Peter Puzo 💙 they were there for me right from the beginning to the end. They made me feel welcome. When I needed something they were right there to help. I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you so very much ❤️

It was easy for me to make my point
It was easy for me to make my point, as to who is the beneficiary of the account that I created. Too many people were and maybe still are trying to take advantage of my cause. The person in question was attacked by some people who are evil. The kid in question, is going to need a lot of help in recovering from this traumatic experience. (Legal, psychological,medical and dental bills). This kid is a family by marriage. I knew that his father, who has some problems, was going to try to profit from his son's situation. After seeing these kinda people try to get some money, that's needed for this child, I started the fundraiser. After creating the account, I made the child's aunt the beneficiary and the gofund.me team, helped me, trying to help him, made the necessary changes to help him receive those funds.

Great Customer Service No Gift Aid
So i had problems in creating the go fund me as I had things on my PC that were blocking me from doing this. I asked for help and the team at Go Fund me actually created the post for me and hey presto we are up and running.
The only downside for me is that as I am not a registered charity I am not able to get gift aid which would of covered all the fees that the site asks for so its a little dissappointing that not all the priceeds of the donations will actually go to the cause.

I will never ever use, God Fund me for nothing they are crooks , My son was in a terrible car wreck, and we raised 60.00 to this day the60.00 is still there cant talk to nothing but A.I. there are no human connection. They maintain fraudulent requests for…
They maintain fraudulent requests for funds even after the requester is being investigated for fraudulent use of funds. This fundraiser has people on automatic monthly donations so no matter how fraudulent they refuse to remove the fundraising page which has over 5k and counting in monies received. Reported by many, including myself to Go Fund Me as fraudulent and still automatic donations keep coming in for a now defunct animal shelter.
The fundraiser is for Shannon Mirandas animal rescue named Miranda's Rescue, claiming to be "a no kill" shelter. In the Spring of 2026 it was discovered that Miranda has been accepting money to care for animals that he would shoot and bury in mass graves on the shelters property. The FBI is on the property now trying to discover the extent of his crimes but bodies of dogs he was paid thousands to care for have already been discovered shot and or beaten to death. None if that matters to Go Fund Me. They would collect funds for Hitler if they could make a buck. Just sick

I thought that when dealing with RAY…
I thought that when dealing with RAY the AI wouldn’t be able to understand what I am chatting about because I was having problems with the “transfer” department on the fundraiser, I was totally wrong Ray informed me that I didn’t answer the email that was sent and I had to answer the email to help with the verification process. I want to let everyone know don’t give up Ray is capable in understanding your chat, remember to be patient, and constantly check your email ❤️

CRAP policies
I absolutely hate the gradual increasing of the goal amount. It makes people look greedy. I personally will not donate once the original goal is met and will not check back. I also like REAL customer service where I can SPEAK to a real human. I don't do well with chat. For the amount of fees charged, this should be a simple request. Resolution comes faster with a conversation instead of the back and forth with chat or email. However, the email exchange with your employee was fine. She did her job well. This review should have NO bearing on your employee.
Hello! I had a really easy time accessing the support and communicating what I needed help with. Someone got back to me through the chat almost immediately, and it was resolved very easily. They stayed in contact with me via email while I waited for my account profile to be updated, so they could notify me when it was complete. Their name was Angel! Thank-you so much for being an awesome organization helping people with their vital fundraising needs and causes. You da BEST! =')
GoFundMe are just slightly more honest than thieves. They are certainly not a charity-minded enterprise.
GoFundMe are a private-equity-backed company that asks for a 16.5% "tip" when you donate, which goes directly to them in addition to the processing charges that the recipient pays.
I knew this, and I knew about their scandal creating pages for charities without their permission to extract more "tips". Check it out online -- it's a doozy.
But I decide today to donate to a good cause via GoFundMe, and they still managed to get me today when I donated to a USD campaign and GoFundMe collected instead in my home currency of GBP (which I failed to notice), increasing the donation by 32%, and made the conversion at an exchange rate beneficial to them.
In the future I will stay away from GoFundMe on principle. GoFundMe team -- Do you sleep well at night?
