What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complained about unhelpful customer support agents who completely failed to resolve ongoing issues, provided no assistance, and abruptly ended chats. People also experienced severe delivery delays, with many orders arriving hours later than scheduled, missing essential products, or being dropped off at incorrect locations.
However, some people also noted that certain scheduled deliveries arrived on time and that the items received were fresh. Despite these occasional positive experiences, customers remained deeply frustrated by unexpected high service fees, hidden costs, and an overall lack of accountability from management.

As a shopper , it’s not even worth it anymore . Human fatigue is a thing . This app makes you not even wanna go outside & deal with anybody . People are already naturally irritating , impatient & greedy right . But the tips are terrible , people will deadass add items to the cart while you in line at check out ( that’s really on instacart tho , they could change the feature like once you order that’s it ) I’ve never in my life witness Something like that . I think they fail to realize you’re not just filling orders for one person . I’m a shopper but I’m nobody’s personal shopper . Customers txt you asking detail questions all kinds of stuff like change this , what other option ? Can you ? Do they ? . I be so ready to say go shop for yourself fr smh . I wouldn’t suggest anyone signing up unless you reaaaally need the extra $
I was recently charged a year membership for a second time when I payed for a one year membership a year prior, using the services I found it was not for me so I decided not the purchase another year of service but noticed on my credit card statement that I have been charged again so I had to find the app again log in and cancel the membership but find out it is telling my that my services will be terminated a year later and I won't recieve my refund. I was a bit confused I contacted the customer service which started with a computer talking to me and then couldn't understand my request for a refund I asked to speak to a human than was transferred told the person I was not able to afford the service and I would like a refund I never used the service since I've been charged i only noticed when my bill came in and told me I have to pay over $100 I was shocked! The person then replied its been past 5 days I can not refund your money... I then thought to myself only 5 days? I would have expected that they would have divided the months into 12 payments of there monthly fee and only get charged the months I had the service this is less than 30 days... so the person could not help me with the refund as I was told it was not an option I the asked to speak to a manager the same answer from that person and then I've asked to escalate the problem to someone who can help and and was told i need to wait for an email associated with my account and hung up on me.
That being said:
There are other companies out there doing grocery deliveries now and I would like to warn anyone who thinks they would like to try instacart to be for warned that the customer service is a joke and this company can not be trusted.

Absolutely horrible app
Absolutely horrible app. I used it to try and purchase a few items from a store but it kept on telling me the items were not available. Instead of showing me which ones were, it told me to pick a new one which kept on continuing that cycle. For something specifically made for convenience, this made everything more difficult. I ended up going in person for the store to have exactly what I wanted in the first place. Ridiculous.
You would think a logo with a carrot would have better...
You would think a logo with a carrot would have better understanding of food. The 3rd party Gypsy drivers they use are not trained at all. Basically anyone can be their drivers. They offer no common sense shopping training.
The trouble with a majority of the drivers is that they don't even shop for themselves. Their wives, girlfriend(s), or partner does it. So how can we as a consumer expect to rely on their common sense/judgement when frankly they have none.
Like when I buy milk, a 4L bag is to last me the whole week. So I buy micro-filtered milk which I always take from the back to ensure I get the longest expiry date. Their drivers simply grab the first bag from the front.
Similarly like eggs or bread. I check if the eggs are broken and the expiry date is the longest. But I keep getting milk, eggs and bread either expired or days from being expired.
Plus a good majority of them (95%) don't even have proper gear like shopping carts and wagons. I've been asked to go down to meet them in the lobby to help them out with my own cart/wagon on more than 95% of the time. Why am I tipping them when I'm doing half the work?
I don't have an account with them, but the two shopping networks I use always use them or a competitors (DoorDash & uBerEats) of theirs as their drivers (PC Express & Walmart Pass). Amusingly enough a good majority of both DoorDash and uBerEats drivers actually have proper gear and only 1 couple (DoorDash) have ever asked me to meet them in the lobby of my building. All others have delivered right to my door and/or arrived with a shopping cart or wagon.
Instacart drivers are like they came fresh off the boat and with zero knowledge of our city or basic shopping experience they are hired on the basis they have a driver's license and access to a vehicle. Much like the many new to our country uBer drivers.

They will STEAL from you
Had the unfortunate thought to use the instacart + program. No matter how many times you ask them to stop charging you once you cancel, they will continue to charge you 100$ a year. DONT DO IT!!!! Frauds. Liers. They will KEEP stealing from you for YEARS!! DELETE you account and ban them from making any charged on your card! Beware!

Terrible for Instacart shoppers as well
Instacart outsources it's customer support team to foreigners who are completely unprofessional. There is no middle man to quality check these calls and it has become chaotic. My wages have been withheld and for an entire month now I've been hung up on, and presented with "fake" supervisors who promise me a call back from management. Furthermore my once nearly perfect account is consistently being hit with undeserved infractions. They say the calls are recorded, but that seems unlikely.
Desired settlement:I'd like the outsourced customer service team to be held accountable and the company for harassment and wage withholding.

My email constant trial started, approx week of 1st complaint of instacart
My email constant trial started, when I 1st was unable due to suspicious activity, AFTER, I was able to get checkout to accept my card, though scanning, constant reentry is most likely reason support stated was issue, I complained enough, now I never signed up for trial, let alone, $99 yearly, not even...keeps appearing anyway and seven days must be up already
Deliveries are usually delayed by 6 hours on average. Customer support is worse than non-existent. Hidden fees are constantly on the rise. Truly the worst service.

Customer service is absolutely abysmal
Customer service is absolutely abysmal. Their messaging agents end the chat if they can't help you even if the issue isn't resolved. It's impossible to get in touch with anyone who can actually help with any issues.

Stay Away from the Promo Membership
The company autorenewed my membership to a yearly $99 plan and refused to issue a refund when I cancelled the plan. I'm now stuck with a yearly membership that I don't want. I used a promotion to sign up for the service and had no idea they were going to autorenew me. Stay away from this company.
Very difficult to deal with. Support pretty much impossible. We need another grocery store delivery service. Maybe if there was a competitive option they would take ppl more serious

I placed a restaurant order through Instacart
I placed a restaurant order through Instacart. Due to connection issues, the order was submitted twice. I immediately contacted support and asked them to cancel the duplicate before delivery. They refused because the restaurant had already accepted it. I then requested to speak with a supervisor. On two separate chat sessions, I was told my request would be relayed, but the chat was disconnected without transferring me to a supervisor. My biggest concern is not just the duplicate charge—it is that I was unable to reach a supervisor after requesting one twice. I expected much better customer service from a paid membership.

I ordered some items on sale
I ordered some items on sale: buy 3, get free. Replacements were needed, and of course, the shopper did not understand the concept of buying replacements that qualify for the Buy 3, Get 3 offer; my total receipt doubled because of a slight misunderstanding from the PROFESSIONAL SHOPPER. And the CSR didn't feel the need to make any adjustments. And I was considering buying the Yearly Subscription. Stay far away from INSTACART. They are not ready to accept customers.
EDIT: I'm tentatively raising my review to 3 Stars because after complaining to another CSR at INSTACART, I was promised a refund. We shall see.

they don’t issue credits when there’s a delivery problem they don’t assume responsibility
if I could give them a zero, I would. I placed an order through Instacart with two restaurants one order did not arrive. Instacart doesn’t issue the credit.

State-specific learning that fits a phone
Aceable offers online, mobile-friendly driving courses, including state-approved or state-certified programs where available. Lessons can be completed across phones and other devices at the learner’s own pace. Students still need to verify local rules, but the format is notably accessible.

This company is the worst
This company is the worst! Every time I make a delivery order at Frys there's always an issue. And I never get my delivery because they don't have enough staff to cover my area. This happened to me July 4th, which ruined my 4th of July and today it happens again. Never again! Thumbs down. Hire more people, geez!

1 too many bad experiences
1 too many bad experiences. When order goes missing or doesn’t show up they wait for you to cancel. Then you get Charged because they didn’t deliver your order. It would be convenient.but they need to have stiffer driver rules& regulations. My last delivery the driver text said you’re too far and I don’t have enough gas money to get there. Why would a Driver be allowed to take a delivery order and they don’t have enough gas money to deliver. I reached out to see if the driver was OK. They text me back and said I’m still trying to get gas money by then my food is somewhere.. SMH

No Walmart delivery in my area
I got all done ordering from Walmart, paid for it, only to be told that my Walmarts don't deliver. That's a half hour of my life I won't get back. I was on a trial, this experience made me cancel.

1-Star Review
1-Star Review
This has been one of the worst food delivery experiences I’ve ever had.
I placed an order through Instacart, which was fulfilled by Uber Eats from Persis Indian Restaurant. I ordered a goat biryani, but instead I received a vegetable biryani. I have clear photos of the food, the packaging, and the receipt showing what I ordered.
The food was delivered around 9:00 PM, and by the time I opened the order, customer support options were limited. I contacted both Instacart and Uber as soon as possible.
Instacart repeatedly told me to contact Uber because Uber handled the delivery. Uber’s messaging team repeatedly closed my case, claiming the delivered food matched my order, even after I shared photos proving that I received vegetable biryani instead of goat biryani. I don’t understand how anyone could conclude those are the same item.
I also contacted Persis Indian Restaurant. Instead of taking responsibility for sending the wrong order, they told me to come to the restaurant to collect a replacement or contact Uber. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told the managers were unavailable. After that, my calls were ignored, and no manager’s contact information was provided.
For the past three days, I’ve spent hours contacting Instacart, Uber, and the restaurant. Each one blamed someone else instead of resolving the issue. I lost my time, my money, and the opportunity to eat the meal I paid for.
Mistakes can happen, but refusing to acknowledge them and making customers run between three different parties is completely unacceptable. I expected much better customer service and accountability.
I would not recommend ordering through this combination of Instacart, Uber Eats, and Persis Indian Restaurant unless they improve how they handle customer complaints and take responsibility when errors occur.
