It is listed under Business Services and its reputation is mixed. 75% of reviews are 4 stars or higher and 13% are 1 star; The business has replied to 37% of negative reviews; 28 of them were added in the last 12 months. Last updated 2026-10-25.
My IP is incorrectly flagged as datacenter/hosting, even though I use my ISP’s router and have no server or hosting setup. Support has not replied, and the report remains uncorrected.
I tested friends IPs too, and the USAGE TYPE was wrong for everyone, however city and state often was correct. My AS36014 USAGE TYPE is correctly listed as FIXED LINE ISP, but my friend’s AS11059 and USAGE TYPE were both wrong.
Overall, many fields seem unreliable. The experience has been disappointing, and I don’t understand the 4.2+ Trustpilot rating. Some recent 5-star reviews seem suspicious, raising concerns about potentially fake or purchased reviews.
According to the website, I am using an anonymous proxy and am located in a data centre.
However, this is not correct. I use a private fibre-optic connection, not a proxy, and I am not located in a data centre.
I have not received a reply to my enquiries to support, and nothing has been changed either.
Do not use this service.
I contacted the support so many times to report the corrections of the "usage type" for all of our organisation's IP Addresses. The representative kept asking me for additional documentation. At first I assisted but later after speaking with my contacts in our industry, I found out that the information being requested is not mandatory. After providing the documentation, I confronted upon why this additional documentation is being requested only from us, the representative has been ghosting me for 2 full weeks and did not provide any reason for why this documentation is mandatory and only being requested from us. Not only that, but the IP Addresses are still not corrected. I would say that do NOT trust what this website reports for IP lookups. Instead use other databases which are reliable, user-friendly and actually accept and validate corrections.
New to IP2Location... I was… its easy and informative
Being New to IP2Location I was searching for a way to find out a mysterious login on my Microsoft account from Australia at 3am... Jumped on IP2Location and am now using it to track this hack down. Simple and easy tools to find out who, what, & where, so I can make sure my accounts are secure. I would recommend to any novice user as its very user friendly.
Nothing more concerning than finding that there was an unauthorized user online and know that security could be compromised. To have a service, immediately able to confirm the IP address and location, is a comfort beyond words. Thank you!
