Its a great web app to find location based on ip addresses
I looked for a while but couldn't find…
I looked for a while but couldn't find contact information to update the geolocation for my IP. As a geolocation service that would seem like a pretty critical link to make easily accessible. I guess I will keep seeing incorrect information from ip2location and every time think about what a terrible service it is that can't be updated. :(

It works well most of the time
It works well most of the time. If I'm not constantly using the service, I have to repeatedly login again to keep access to my 200 IP checks. Overall it's a good website for IP checks & seems to be as accurate, or better, than most of the IP check websites I've found. Plus it gives information that the others don't, so I'll keep using it.

Location is incorrectly
My IP addresses have been incorrectly located for more than 1 year. The address 137.74.230.169 and 137.74.60.214 is localized in Germany, Baden-Wurttemberg, Aach.
Very useful tool that shows exact city…
Very useful tool that shows exact city locations. Many other tools on the internet fail to be able to locate the cities. Would be even better if it showed the network that the hosts are running on.

Are you aware of residential Proxy's???
Are you aware of residential Proxy's??? Even the residential proxies are showing it as ISP. Which is not at all considerable. If I use your dataset I will end up with getting annoying scrapping scripts into my website.

Hi Ravi, Thank you for your feedback. We are aware of residential proxy servers. It is a proxy server connected via normal residential network. In this case, we have to report it as ISP under usage type because it is technical within a residential network. However, we have another product known as IP2Proxy which is being used to detect proxy servers. We have algorithms to detects all proxy servers including residential proxy server. If we could not detect any residential proxy in IP2Proxy (false-negative or false-positive), please send us an email with the IP address for investigation. We have a dedicated team to investigate the issue and further improving our algorithm. - Kim

Bad's ip location service ever
Bad's ip location service ever. My Ranges all located in wrong City. Even the City does not exist, i dont know how ip2location get this data but its really crap. I contact them and ask for correction, but they just sens questions over questions and no solution. Worest service ive ever seen.

This is Kim. We have investigated this issue. We believe you were sending us the request less than 24 hours ago under a different name. Our team has found out that you were requesting to change a data center range to a remote town in Germany begins with letter "A". Therefore, we were requesting more information about the data center and its location. According to our records, there is no data center in the town reported. It is our standard operation procedure to investigate all change requests because we have incidents reported that certain IP ranges are being manipulated in term of geolocation information for business advantages. We are truly sorry if these extra steps are causing any inconvenience, but it is necessary to uphold the integrity and the accuracy of the database. Meanwhile, we are still working on your issue with your upstream providers to confirm your server location.

I used this product as part of a development effort for a client. It was amazingly simple to learn and develop against. It is quite pricey depending on what information you want from the service, but it's also pretty customizable. I was never the one on the team interfacing with the company directly, but I don't remember ever hearing any complaints about customer service. I would recommend this product pretty quickly, with a caution on keeping an eye on the price.
