OpenAI is really the only tool I use for image or video manipulation outside of Figma, Adobe etc.. Designer for 20 years, I’ve seen software come and go, but honestly the stuff this can do for me that Adobe cannot: Keep building guys. And plant trees.
Compared to other platforms that I work on it is close to a deal breaker that there I no roll over of tokens from month to month. That is not industry standard. At least three months of roll over should be possible.
I used OpenArt for around a year and really enjoyed the experience. The platform is easy to use, offers a lot of creative options, and the image generation quality kept improving. It was especially useful for experimenting with different styles and ideas.
I love all the options for AI generation and the great quality that I have enjoyed with OpenArt. Highly recommended!

Great concept poor customer service
Great concept, but very buggy, and constantly "steals" credits and staff gives you a looong run around to get them back and tries to guilt trip/gaslight you for their bugs and them having to sort it out. Currently their tools said I would be charged 230 credits but they took 16,221 almost all my credits at once for a single request. They've ran me in circles for over 3 weeks delaying giving my credits back for their mistake. I know they are stalling until my billing cycle is over so they can claim they can't help by then. TLDR...decent product concept but poor customer service when it goes wrong.

We're truly sorry for the experience you've had, especially the frustration around the unexpected credit usage and the time it has taken to get your issue addressed.
We’ve been experiencing a much higher volume of support requests than usual, which has unfortunately affected our response times. That doesn't make the delay any less frustrating, and we understand why you feel you've been left waiting for answers.
We'd really appreciate the opportunity to look into your case again and make sure it gets the attention it deserves. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and reference this review so our team can locate your case and follow up with you directly.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry we haven't provided the level of support you expected, and we hope we can have the opportunity to make this right.
I’ve been using OpenArt for creating AI images and animated video content, and overall I’ve had a very good experience. The platform offers a wide range of AI models and creative tools in one place, which makes it very convenient for content creators.
I especially like the image generation quality, variety of models, and the ability to experiment with different styles and workflows. It has been useful for creating visuals for my YouTube content and animated stories.
The platform is continuously improving and adding new features, which is a big plus. However, character consistency and video generation can still be improved in some situations, and the credit system can sometimes feel expensive when many generations are needed.
Overall, OpenArt is a powerful and useful platform for AI creators, especially if you regularly create images, videos, and creative content.
It is great possibility to use different models suitable for our different needs. One of the most valuable features is possibility to create a character to keep consistency throughout creation of multiple assets with the same character. Excellent feature is camera movement templates that, so far, works without a flaw. There are some minor problems with changing described scene to fulfill some logic even if it is explicitly said that the scene should not be changes. That's the reason for four stars instead of five.
I've used Open Art for over a year now…Choose a different platform
I've used Open Art for over a year now and I've subscribed to the highest tier on a monthly basis every month. Originally I had done so for unlimited use capabilities during certain periods. Now though it still is described and marketed as such, it is limited by default under very, very unreasonable limitations.
Their support is non-existent. You can email them and they will never return your emails. Promotional periods do not apply if you've already subscribed to the highest tier unless you're willing to fork up an entire year's worth of annual payment. They have no loyalty in return for customers who are loyal if they've already gotten you subscribed to the highest tier. You just simply don't need to get the promotions, regardless of the tier, describing these promotions as a unique feature you're buying.
I like the platform. I've become very aware recently of the very, very poor treatment of customers and the very lack of care when it comes to maintaining any customer satisfaction. At every turn they will change and update something to rob you of what they sold you on in the first place and not answer anything about it at any point to explain themselves.
Terrible quality, extremely dark, and ridiculously expensive.
The biggest problem is not only the huge number of credits OpenArt charges. The actual video quality was some of the worst I have ever seen. The videos came out extremely dark, and OpenArt changed almost everything in my original image instead of preserving the original design and simply animating it. The colors, details, product appearance, and overall look were altered so badly that I could not use the videos at all.
I used around 2,000 credits for only two videos, and both were unusable. I contacted OpenArt about the problem and still have not received a response. Very poor quality, terrible value for the money, and disappointing customer service. I would not recommend it.

I’ve had a great experience with OpenArt. It’s an amazing platform for creating unique and creative AI images and videos. I especially love the wide range of possibilities and the fact that you can experiment with different styles and ideas.
The platform is easy to use and gives you a lot of creative freedom, even if you’re not an experienced AI creator. I’ve been able to bring ideas to life that would otherwise be difficult to create.
Overall, I’m very happy with OpenArt and would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys creating AI content and wants to explore their creativity.
Very disappointing experience with OpenArt.
I started with around 12,000 credits. After trying to create videos, I ended up with only about 1.5 usable videos, and even those contained multiple errors.
What frustrated me most was how quickly credits were consumed during the process. Creating and regenerating reference images, anchors and intermediate steps used a significant amount of credits before I even had the final video I wanted.
In my case, I spent almost all of my 12,000 credits and still did not get one clean, finished video matching my original request.
My advice to new users is simple: be very careful with your credits and understand exactly which steps consume them before starting a larger video project.
I wish I had known this before I started. I’m sharing my experience so other users can make an informed decision.

I like that i have different models to choose from . I like the fact that the models are reasonable price. The website is easy to navigate. Just all round awesome. Check out my short film.
Excellent creative direction and surprisingly effective production workflow.
I tested OpenArt Director on a demanding website hero-video project where architectural consistency, restrained camera movement, precise timing, and visual continuity were critical.
What impressed me most was not simply the final video quality, but the Director workflow itself. I started with a reference image and a creative objective rather than a finished shot specification. Director proposed a genuinely useful cinematic concept, I challenged several elements of it, and it responded intelligently to the feedback without losing the strength of the original idea.
After one revision, we had a much stronger storyboard and proceeded to production. The resulting 1080p video was good enough to keep from the first production attempt.
I later used Director again for a short, tightly specified logo transition with locked start and end states, exact timing, no camera movement, and no audio. It followed those constraints very well, and that output was also accepted without regeneration.
The credit consumption is significant, so I would recommend planning carefully before rendering rather than experimenting blindly. However, in my case the economics made sense because the workflow produced usable final assets with very few generation attempts. I would rather spend more credits on a well-directed first result than burn credits repeatedly on cheaper failed generations.
Director is not a substitute for human creative judgment—you still need to critique its ideas, define constraints clearly, and know what you want to preserve. But used that way, I found it extremely valuable. It behaved less like a simple AI video generator and more like a creative production partner that could propose, receive direction, revise, and execute.
Very strong experience overall, and one of the more useful AI video workflows I have tested.
OpenArt AI video ignored our script a warning for anyone planning real projects
I’m posting this as a warning because I wish someone had told me this before I spent time and money on OpenArt’s video generation. $35 USD/$50 CAD gone.
We treated this like a real production:
We wrote a full script with clear scenes, actions, and camera directions.
We followed OpenArt’s own advice on how to structure prompts (setting, action, camera moves, etc.).
We didn’t just throw in random prompts; we planned everything in advance so the video would actually be usable.
Despite all that, the generated video was completely off. It didn’t follow the script, missed key actions, and basically ignored the structure we carefully built. This wasn’t a case of “the credits ran out too fast” or “we didn’t understand the tool.” It was a core failure: the AI could not turn a clear, detailed script into a video that matched what we asked for.
That’s the real problem for anyone thinking of using OpenArt seriously:
Script-to-video reliability is poor. Even with a well-structured brief, the output can be fundamentally wrong.
No safety net for real projects. If you’re building content for clients, a brand, or a channel, you can’t bet your timeline on a tool that may completely miss your instructions.
Wasted time and money. It’s not just the subscription cost; it’s the hours spent planning, scripting, and then dealing with unusable results.
Support and documentation talk about “simplify your prompt” or “use clearer descriptions,” but that doesn’t help when you’ve already done that and the result is still nonsense.
If you’re just experimenting for fun, maybe this is fine. But if you need a tool that can reliably turn a script into a usable video, be very careful with OpenArt. Based on my experience, it’s not dependable enough for real work.
