What people say

AI (and) Art 101

I never considered myself a creative person and my knowledge of AI and videos were zilch. I can't even take good pictures on my phone. I am so amazed by what "I" have been able to create these last few months - especially since the models now offer 4K production at lower costs. Because or OpenArt AI, I at least know a little of what AI is and I now have skills in something I previously knew nothing about. I'm grateful for this tool.

Seedance 2.5 is here - and on one of the best platforms to use it!

Seedance 2.5 is here — and on one of the best platforms to use it! I’m really excited to see Seedance 2.5 arrive on OpenArt. It’s a model I’ve been looking forward to using, and having it available on a platform that is already such an important part of my creative workflow makes it even better. I’m looking forward to putting it through its paces and seeing what kind of results I can get from it. I’ve been using OpenArt for well over a year now, mainly for creating AI images and videos, and during that time it has gradually become my go-to creative platform. There are plenty of places offering access to the latest models, but for me the difference is in how well the whole experience works around them. One of the things I particularly value is prompt adherence. I tend to have quite specific ideas about what I want to create, especially with video, and OpenArt does an excellent job of translating those ideas into something close to what I had imagined. That means less time endlessly regenerating and more time actually developing the idea. I’ve also become a big fan of Smart Shot and Director. Smart Shot is great for turning an initial concept into a more cinematic sequence of shots, while Director allows me to work through an idea conversationally, developing and refining it as I go. It feels much more like a creative filmmaking process than simply typing a prompt and hoping for the best. I create AI video almost every day, so having new models, image generation, video generation and creative tools together in one place is incredibly useful. OpenArt keeps evolving, which is probably why, after more than a year, I’m still discovering new ways of using it. And now with Seedance 2.5 added to the mix, I’m very much looking forward to seeing where it takes my next ideas!

No Accountability

I subscribed to OpenArt’s Advanced plan primarily to use Director for long-form video creation. During one project, I purchased three additional credit packs because the project repeatedly failed due to continuity and generation issues. After investigating, OpenArt acknowledged problems with the project and refunded some of those purchased credits. Later, when my subscription renewed, my monthly refill was lower than expected. Support explained how subscription credits work, but that was not my question. I then asked them to verify whether all three of my purchased credit packs had actually been applied to my account because my OpenArt credit history appeared to show only one purchase while my bank statement showed three. To help them investigate, I provided screenshots of both my OpenArt credit history and my bank statement and requested an itemized breakdown showing: * The date of each purchased credit pack. * The number of credits received. * When those credits were applied. * When and how they were used. Instead of answering that question, I received repeated emails stating they were experiencing a backlog and would respond within 48–72 hours. Weeks later, I still have not received the requested accounting or an answer to my original question. While waiting for a response, I paused my subscription so I would not continue paying without having my concerns addressed. Most recently, I attempted to use my remaining 185 credits. The generation failed, the project disappeared after reopening the app, and the credits were still deducted. My review is not based on AI results alone. Generative AI is imperfect, and I understand that. My concern is the lack of transparency regarding purchased credits and the inability to obtain a direct answer to a straightforward account inquiry despite providing documentation and following up multiple times. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend the service.

Hi OpenArt Team,

Hi OpenArt Team, My account is now over a year old, and during that time I’ve had the opportunity to watch OpenArt grow, improve, and continue adding meaningful features that make the platform better for creators. In many ways, I find OpenArt highly competitive with other AI platforms. One thing I especially appreciate is how quickly you make new generators and tools available. The number of options continues to grow, and I think that matters because every creator is different. You’ve built a platform that gives people room to create in their own way rather than forcing everyone into the same box. Some of the renders I’ve created through OpenArt simply would not have been possible on other AI platforms because of how restrictive some of those services can be. For example, I’m currently working on a movie that includes a completely innocent scene where one of my younger characters runs barefoot down the hallway of her home. In another moment, she runs into the kitchen, grabs a cookie from the counter, and runs off. These are simple, everyday storytelling moments, yet on some platforms even scenes like these can become unnecessarily difficult to generate. That’s something I appreciate about OpenArt. Your platform seems to do a better job of understanding the context and meaning behind what a creator is trying to produce. Most of us are simply trying to make good stories and content that audiences can enjoy and hopefully continue coming back to. When creators are constantly forced to water down their vision because harmless scenes are misunderstood, eventually the story stops feeling like our story. So yes, as long as OpenArt continues supporting tasteful, responsible creativity and giving creators the freedom to tell their stories, I plan on keeping you guys by my side. I also want to personally thank your team for the prompt response to my recent issue and for taking the time to help me through it. That kind of customer support definitely does not go unnoticed. Thank you again for everything you’ve built and for continuing to listen to the creators who use your platform. All the best, Jessie Nucleus Matrix Films

We really enjoy working in OpenArt

We really enjoy working in OpenArt. They have been doing great trying to provide us with the newest and latest models. We understand how difficult this can be as there always seems to be a new release every day. We have also enjoyed the tutorials on their YouTube channel. We just jumped on the new promotion yesterday and upgraded to the Wonder tier. Thanks to the team at OpenArt.

Unauthorized payments!!!

I used this service for a day. Then, I requested a cancelation of my yearly plan (I didn't like the product). Same day of cancelation, I downgrade my account to free tier intentionally as I always do, in order to avoid future charges. 3 months later, my bank advisor informed me about an irregular recurring payment for the last 3 months, which should not be there, and I found out it is from this company. This is beyond unacceptable - the support email person I spoke with, not only did they NOT look into my case, the insisted for a second time that they do not intend to return my money back, haven't heard back from them in the last 7 days, they took my money and then disappeared.

Warning

I spent $30. The app generated a video that the scenes didn’t match and the character didn’t even look towards the “camera” it then took 1000 credits just to tell the ai to fix it and there wasn’t enough credits left to make the corrections. One of them the ai even said was their fault.

Lots of great features

Lots of great features, music videos unfortunately were pretty whacky with misinterpretations of song lyrics which then turned into very expensive edits and fixes, probably the money maker idea for your profits. I wouldve loved to explore Director more but it also was way too expensive. Many tools that ended up being too complexed and overwhelming but if I had more time and money i may have got deeper into it.

Open AI: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I was really excited when I heard that OpenArt AI can make a whole 5 minute film at one time. Mine is 4 and 1/2 minutes so I really fell into that category. Didn't take long for my illusions to get completely shattered. THE GOOD: The visuals are nice but you pay for it. I chose Full HD 1080p so I was at the top of the tier. But I imagine nearly all paid AI subscriptions render images pretty cleanly at Full HD. THE BAD: OpenArt AI costs a small fortune and most of that is spent valiantly but ultimately fruitlessly trying to fix OA's prodigious mistakes, glitches and errors. I bought the monthly Pro for $54 and started with 24,000 credits--more than enough for a 5 minute film, or so I thought. The 24,000 credits got burned up in short order setting up the film using OA's "Director" function guided by Ori, an AI construct that helps you with arranging things. When it was ready to render my film I was hit with a message, "Need 50,000 credits to render" so I spent $180 to buy 100,000 additional credits. "More than enough to get this movie made", I thought. No such luck. After 6 or 7 attempts to render the movie and making corrections I was hit with another message, "Need 50,000 credits to finish movie." So I sighed and bought $90 more, determined to see this through to the bitter end. Total $326, and I unbelievably end up with a surplus of 45,000 credits. THE UGLY: Needless to say, as many have already pointed out, the resulting 5 minute movie was underwhelming--an absolute mishmash of out-of-order sequences, glitches, and silly errors that had Ori read the script none of it would have happened. OA simply cannot follow a script no matter how detailed. Example of one small part: "Three women stand inside a church at the giant church doors. The women face three men standing outside the church at the front doors. Two feet separate the women from the men, the women within to doors, the men without. The redhead turns and walks forward into the church's darkness. The blonde and brunette follow her and the men follow close behind. Immediately upon entering the church the redhead raises her arm, flicks her wrist and immediately hundreds of unlit candles ignite illuminating the church nave." What does OA do? It buries the three women deep inside the church near a dining table prop and then has the women walk away from the table when the script clearly calls for the women to walk up to the table. The front doors are nowhere to be seen--until about 30 seconds later when after showing the characters way inside the church, all six characters suddenly appear at the front doors. Long story short: I burned 100,000 credits trying to correct dozens and dozens and dozens of glitches, errors, omissions. I finally gave up, realizing I'd be in hock to a loan shark if I spent the money to try to fix this mess. My advice: don't try to do a full movie. Take it scene by scene. Much less trouble and you'll save yourself an ulcer. And don't forget to get a bank loan before you undertake something really BIG.

Very deceptive in the subscription

Very deceptive in the subscription. I thought I paid for the monthly plan but was charged for the full year. When I noticed (same day) I immediately cancelled my subscription and sent an email to their support email. Why is there no other avenue to go in order to talk with customer support. This has caused me a hardship and I have to communicate through email? No chat feature for assistance? If they get back to me in a timely manner I'll happily upgrade my review because the videos I did create were outstanding. They were way overpriced but still very high quality. I simply want to downgrade my service to monthly instead of annually. We'll see how long it takes for them to respond but the reviews dont look promising

OpenArt has allowed me to create video…

OpenArt has allowed me to create video clips for project teasers with a variety of models that suit what I want and need. The system is intuitive and the cost for credits to generate videos and images is very reasonable. I have an annual plan and use it every month for something.

worst and worst ever I experience on…

worst and worst ever I experience on this platform ... full disguard scam ...my credit balance 8944 I could not generate a video clip of 30s on director just with 2d motion animation ... they keep changing my script and changing the ai agent to the expensive one and then stop and say u have to upgrade your balance , I say no remain on our starting plan and it generate only picture and balance went to zero and that's it. be careful going there my sisters and my wife warned me but I believe their YouTube advertisers that for sure are not even using it and bammmm 67$ in the sea don't try it if you're not a rich man
