Lemon takes the hassle out of finding freelance work
I joined lemon.io slightly over two years ago as a data engineer/data scientist and the support staff is amazing. I had one short term project and one long term project, during which I was fully supported by the team. I ended up joining as an employee to the company with which I had the long term project and the transition was also very smooth. I've always been skittish about contracting projects with services like this because it feels like a roll of the dice, so we miss out on the potential benefits of leveraging contract workers. I gave lemon.io a go and so far have been blown away. It is exactly what I would hope for and mitigates every downside of platforms like Upwork, as far as I can tell. White-glove service from the first interaction.
I'd love to meet the CEO of this company to hear about their past struggles with contracting developers which surely drove them to create this platform.

I had been struggling with a hire for months trying various recruiters, HN hiring posts, etc, but something about the pre-vetting magic lemon does resulted in an excellent recommendation for my position for a senior backend engineer (rare as hen's teeth) and I quickly filled the position with an excellent engineer.
