Locksmith cannot get the i8 keys to be reprogrammed. Snow scare had slow shipping delivery and they did not ship the same day as order placed

I bought a key for my Jeep, I brought it to a locksmith to get programmed and cut. The locksmith said he couldn’t read the key. I called and they said it has to be read with a certain machine. The locksmith then was able to read the key so we assumed it was going to be programmed. They cut the key then proceeded to program the key and it wouldn’t program. I then brought it to the dealership they tried to no avail. After texting back and forth Locksmith Keyless agreed to a full refund. My advice is don’t have a key cut before getting it programmed
