What reviewers say

AI generated

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Reviewers are deeply frustrated with the unhelpful customer service, finding it extremely difficult to get timely assistance or proper issue resolution through phone lines. People also frequently encounter rude and aggressive staff members across different store departments, leading to deeply uncomfortable interactions during their regular shopping visits. However, some people mentioned that certain store employees are genuinely welcoming, kind, and quick to provide helpful assistance whenever required by shoppers. A few other consumers also felt that specific grocery items, such as fresh produce and delicious specialty food products, met their everyday expectations nicely.

Exceptional Meijer Manager. Store#131

I am writing to formally commend Lonnie, Store Manager at the East Washington Street Meijer in Indianapolis, Indiana, Store #131, for his outstanding leadership, professionalism, and exceptional commitment to customer and community service. During a recent Thanksgiving community outreach initiative hosted by our church, an unexpected issue arose when our pre-arranged turkey order was not fulfilled correctly at the meat department level. This error had the potential to jeopardize our entire outreach event, which was scheduled to serve families in need on a very tight timeline. Lonnie immediately intervened and quite literally saved the day—and the entire project. With calm authority and exceptional leadership, he de-escalated the situation, took full ownership of the problem, and worked diligently to ensure a solution was reached. Through his direct involvement and determination, Lonnie ensured that we were able to secure approximately 35–40 turkeys on the day of the event, allowing our Thanksgiving giveaway to proceed as planned. What truly set Lonnie apart was his willingness to go above and beyond standard expectations. He personally delivered the turkeys to our church on the morning of the event, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and peace of mind for our volunteer team and the families we served. His actions demonstrated not only operational excellence but genuine care for the community. Throughout this entire process, Lonnie exemplified the highest standards of professionalism. He was kind, gracious, patient, solution-focused, and exceptionally helpful. His leadership reflected integrity, accountability, and a deep commitment to service—qualities that are increasingly rare and immensely valuable. Additionally, as a long-time resident who has lived near the East Washington Street Meijer for over eight years, I can confidently state that this location is by far one of the cleanest, most organized, and best-managed Meijer stores in the city of Indianapolis. The condition of the store, the consistency of operations, and the customer experience clearly reflect strong and effective management. As a business owner and administrator myself, I recognize excellence when I see it. Meijer is extremely fortunate to have Lonnie as a leader within its organization. He is a tremendous asset to the company, to his team, and to the broader community he serves. Lonnie should be formally recognized and commended for his exceptional leadership, community commitment, and unwavering dedication to excellence. Respectfully submitted, Denise C. Moore

Two black females were racially…

Two black females were racially profiled in your store. The two ladies had never been to Meijer and was visiting the area. The police were called and the two women were just shopping. They were accused of trying to steal items. I have never shopped at this store and I never will!

Half the doors are closed at times and…

Half the doors are closed at times and the worthless management couldn’t even have the common sense to post it. The snow covered pinball court called a parking lot has to be negotiated to park only to find the door you parked by is locked. The very least would be a large sign announcing that they have closed half their store. The blind and deaf management just expect people to keep coming back to be abused. I only go to Meijer as a very last resort. This last time, they didn’t have it. I let the do-nothing manager know my thoughts the last three times just to be laughed at. Hate would be a very kind description for my thoughts of Meijer management.

I will never shop here again

I will never shop here again. This company's hypocrisy is staggering: they pay unlivable wages and then have the audacity to jail an employee over minimal food waste (fruit and chicken). This is not about theft; it's about a company punishing a worker for its own failure to provide a dignified wage or basic food security. A complete moral failure.

I am beyond fed up with Meijer Pharmacy…

I am beyond fed up with Meijer Pharmacy since they got rid of their app. Refilling prescriptions shouldn’t take literal days. First of all, how did they think their new system was going to work? Did they not test it first? Submitting refills is next to impossible. It keeps rejecting them. If one goes through, the rest don’t. It has to be frustrating for my PCP as well. I’ve always submitted my refills on the same day every month. Now, it’s taking days. Who wants to go to the pharmacy three or four day in a row? No one. Also, I now have to call them to even get my son’s meds refilled. What kind of business in this day and age thinks this is a good idea? Now, when im actually at Meijer Pharmacy the techs are wonderful. I’m sure they’re fed up getting complaints every single day for something that isn’t even their fault. For the love of all that is holy, go back to the flipping app or you’re not going to have any more costumers.

PHARMACY DANGEROUS!

The Meijer pharmacy in Highland Indiana won't submit Prior Authorizations and then will say they did when they didn't. Then they won't tell you they don't stock the medication you need then after two weeks of waiting then tell you it's " ordered" and then tell you it's ready only for you to show up and then be told they don't know when it will ready it isn't at the store. This has gone on for 2 weeks. If they didn't want to do there job they should have told me so I could have went elsewhere and gotten this done in a few days. Now I'm in limbo if I try to transfer to another pharmacy I may have to wait even longer. Not sure what to do. After this never going back though. Have to wonder how many other people have they hurt because of this. I mean seriously if you can't or won't refill a med in a timely manner say something so someone can go elsewhere. Meijer Highland is playing games with peoples lives.
