I placed an order for the buy 2 get 2 free on Monday 10th aug. I was sucked in by the ads on Facebook, showing real black smiths hand forging knives at an anvil inside a real forge.
However, what I didn't do was check trust pilot before placing the order.
Having checked trust pilot to read the advertised 50k positive reviews, I was pretty amazed to see that many of them stated that the blade turned up blunt, filthy, covered in oil and to top it all, the the blades were being shipped out of China.
So I did some digging of my own and found out that the ads couldn't be further from the truth.
The blades are not made in a forge as advertised, they are made in a factory in Shenzhen, China.
Their advertised lifetime guarantee is a 30 day guarantee.
They state on the invoice, orders will be dispatched within 1 day. For me it's been 9 days and nothing was dispatched. (I've cancelled my order)
The site states that all customer enquiries will be answered within 48hrs (Maximum)
I've received one response that states, they will check with their fulfilment center to see if I can cancel my order. Which is nonsense anyway because, under the consumer rights act, you have a mandated 14 days to cancel.
I've sent numerous emails even messages through the website, as well as reaching out on their Facebook messenger page, my response was from someone called Mary who asked for details of the problem. I gaver her the details and haven't heard from them since.
According to public information, northern knife UK is operating under a company called Starlight Solutions whose offices are also based in Shenzhen, China. I don't particularly want to have to go down the route of contacting them to step in, but I will if I must. My only other option would be to go through my bank to have them recall the money.
Needless to say, I highly recommend that you read other people's experience with this company before sending them any money.

Outstanding knife - I bought 4 of the Loki and couldn’t be happier.
The blade is razor sharp and holds its edge incredibly well, and feels perfectly balanced.
From the moment you pick it up, using this knife becomes an experience in its own right.
Giving this knife as a gift was just as rewarding as owning one myself.

Love these knives! i bought 2 and wasn't disappointed. my only comment would be that the shipping tracking didn't work and said it was stuck at the depot or something for about a week but then it turned up at my door... obviously I don't mind that it turned up early lol. but the knives I'd absolutely recommend to anyone

Delivery was within the time line the company said. 1 knife was faulty, a loose handle. Quick response no debate a replacementis on the way. Knives have arrived sharp and look as beautiful as the do on the site.

I came across northern knife on Instagram and started looking because of a sale they were running.
I ordered 4 knives, 2 loki series and 2 Bjhorn (probably spelt that wrong).
Since they've come and been overly joyous with them.
They're gorgeous, sharp and a delight to use.

I got two knives , The Loki which is a work of art and Ragnarok which is a good looking beast of a knife ! I them as presents but now my husband wants one of them so I don’t think they are going anywhere! Really nicely balanced when you hold them and beautifully sharp. Lovely knives which are a cut above the normal.

Was very straight forward to order on the website. Communication was good and the knives were delivered quickly.

Saw these advertised and immediately wanted them. Ordering was easy and it came with an offer of a free knife which was an amazing deal. I was kept updated with the progress of my order and it was delivered before the estimated time. They come beautifully gift boxed and are packaged very securely. Not a bad word to say about them. They are exactly as described and have some serious weight to them. Easy to handle and super sharp. My other knives have gone in the bin. Hardest decision now is which one to order next!

Ive always wanted one of these knifes as im a real BBQ guy.
I bought 4 knifes on the deal (2 free) and the communication and delivery was amazing from the very start.
Ove used one of the knifes for the first time today and it is, without doubt, the best knife ive ever used.
The quality of this knife is second to none. It looks great, and feels great in hand.

Wow! Exceeded expectations. I have four knives and each one is fantastic! So much so that my wife is fed up of hearing about how amazing they are! She just hopes that I’ll now do more cooking and food prep 😂. Anyone who has walked into our house since the purchase has had a full run down of each knife and its capabilities. To say I’m super impressed all round with not only the knives but the communication, delivery etc is an understatement. Will definitely purchase more!

Customer service has been good. Had a damaged knife and they replaced it. The knives are good, sharp and well balanced.

Opened my parcel and was surprised with the quality of these knives. Well weighted and nice and sharp. I’m no master in the kitchen but the wife now calls me anytime something needs carving or sliced. Also look great hanging on the magnetic knife holder in the kitchen.

Having never ordered from Northern Knife before I was very excited to recieve my knives and sharpener........ my problem was our local postal service!!
Mary at the customer services team literaly held my hand (virtually) and was amazing with how she communicated and dealt with all my anxiety with "ordering on-line".
My knives have subsequently arrived and the sit in pride of place in our newly fitted kitchen and not only look great, we have a Sunday Roast last week when they worked amazingly well :-) and were talked about as much as our new kitchen was :-)

It has to be the best kitchen knife I've ever owned the designs, quality and finnish are absolutely amazing and the delivery was fantastic it was fast and put in a safe place. All knives are as hoped, easy to use, very comfortable in hard and look amazing. Have ordered two magnetic knife boards so the can correctly stored. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of buying these knives.
