What reviewers say

AI generated

Reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently mention how remarkably simple, smooth, and quick the entire transaction process is, which successfully saves people a lot of valuable time. Consumers genuinely appreciate the professional staff and the fair cash offers consistently provided for their residential properties. Buyers and sellers alike find the digital platform and overall communication extremely convenient from start to finish. However, some reviewers were not happy with significant price drops occurring unexpectedly after the initial property inspection took place. Some people also felt that the associated partner companies and external title services made closing procedures much more difficult than expected.

It's very convenient and fast

It's very convenient and fast. I sold in 30 days innstead of 3-6 months to sell the old fashion way. The difference for my sale Open door offered 90k in profit ,30 days sold. Real estate 93k in profit 3-6 months to sell I chose convenience and at the end saved more. Thank you Open door

Quick, Easy, Fair, Totally Recommend.

The HASSLE(S) of selling on the open market today, including the unknown waiting, for an interested buyer, were all essentially eliminated. I had, and I suggest, a realtor come in first with a market analysis of my house and the surrounding area so I knew in advance where my market price range was (based on good data, not just my own research). Opendoor came in a bit below that, but it within a range I was willing to accept to get out "instantly," as-is, and move on without the hassle of selling it myself or even with a traditional real estate agent. Bottom line: Quick, easy, fair, only positive feedback. If you need out fast with a fair and easy process, trust/use Opendoor.

Room for improvement

OpenDoor is great (except for their new exorbitant 10ish% fee, up from the original 5%). No showings, no realtors, quick closing, as promised. OpenDoor’s vendors/partners, however, are not-so-great, in my experience. First, Inspectify, the company that does OpenDoor’s inspections, is disorganized, unreliable, and unresponsive. Secondly, the title company that OpenDoor uses, First Title & Escrow (Plano, Texas), isn’t the best. For one, they made me do some of the legwork that they should have done themselves (contact my HOA on their behalf, secure a copy of CC&Rs, fulfill other random requests). Then, twenty-four hours after closing, I had to throw a bit of a fit to get them to release my funds. My advice: copy your assigned OpenDoor rep on all emails with their vendors.

Opendoor gave a fair cash offer for my…

Opendoor gave a fair cash offer for my aunts house and we closed fast! It was what we needed for my aunts house! They explained every step of the way, and was always a text or phone call away if we had any questions, the only thing I did not like which had nothing to do with Opendoor, was the inspector left the house unlocked, I got stuck in traffic getting to my aunts house that was an hour away, so I gave the inspector our lockbox code, and he did not lock up the house after he was done. That was my only complaint and Opendoor had no control over that!!

Waste of time

Opendoor presented me with an offer of $505,000, contingent upon the payment of $390,000 after deducting applicable fees. The remaining amount, $115,000, was allocated towards repairs. However, within a month, the offer was rescinded due to the discovery of mold in the basement during a home inspection. Subsequently, I conducted my own inspection and confirmed the absence of mold in my basement. My agent was rude and always preoccupied with other matters when I tried to ask questions. She never fully explained anything to me. Even when she called to inform me that they were withdrawing the offer, I missed the call because I was already on the phone with someone else. I immediately called back, but she was magically occupied with a different appointment and didn’t respond to me until over an hour later. There was something peculiar about my situation that I’m not sure what it was. I strongly advise against using Opendoor.

Two contracts canceled near closing - then ignored me

I had two properties under contract with Opendoor. They completed inspections, ordered title work, and paid earnest-money deposits—then canceled both deals shortly before closing. For one property, they claimed renovations were underway, which was not true. I repeatedly asked for a clear explanation, but they stopped responding. After wasting weeks of my time on two separate deals, I would not rely on an Opendoor contract until the sale has actually closed.

Opendoor Did What They Promised

The whole process was fast and efficient. This was the easiest closing ever. I really didn't believe it when I was told we could close in 30-40 days. But we did. Everyone involved from Opendoor were helpful, knowledgeable & professionally friendly. Special shoutout to Gabbby.

Close the door to open door!

I am currently in the process of selling my home to open door and it has been the most damaging experience I have ever had. I am currently still waiting for about 13 days for their final decision on how much money they are going to ask for repairs. I am in a crunch and need to move into my next place, but reaching out to open door has been horrible. It has been escalated and still nothing. If I were you, I would not use them. They do not care about the time and they do not care about you being inconvenienced. They will wait till the very last day before they submit to you their final paperwork. The title company has completed their job. Yet we are both waiting on them and that is absolutely crazy. This has been ongoing for probably three weeks now or longer. My next move is to just pull out and sign with another cash buyer.
