Fantastic Service at the Lower Earley…

Fantastic Service at the Lower Earley branch from the Optician who performed my eyetest to Anjali who helped me choose my glasses frames. Really personable experiance from someone who cares and utalises all her knowledge and experiance to assist. Will definately use this branch again

Sunglasses don't protect from sun

I had a great experience at Asda opticians. The eye test was thorough and staff very helpful. The pricing was really good. My only issue is that this morning when I wore my sunglasses for first time, they give absolutely no protection against sun glare. I had to remove tbem while crossing the road because I could not see. I don't understand the point of sunglasses that don t protect from sun glare.

sub standard eye test, refusal to refund

I had my eye test and bought 2 pairs of glasses. they gave me double vision, I asked for a re test which they did, and said the prescription is right, you'll have to put up with the double vision ! I got a second eye test done elsewhere, which showed Asda's prescription was completely wrong. They reluctantly agreed to remake to glasses to the correct prescription, but wont refund the £55 it cost me for the second eye test which proved theirs was rubbish. I will never use them again as their testing is clearly sub standard and their customer care is terrible once they've got your money.

Asda Opticians…prescription errors

Thought I'd visit Asda Opticians recently to fill my eye prescription with the attractive Asda offers. Had a lot of eye checks recently owing to cataract and proposed surgery (not Asda fault) but it was noticed that my Asda specs did not match the prescription they were supposedly made for. Very shocked and disappointed.... This is people's eyesight they're playing around with an I, for one, cannot afford to be attracted to these false offers.

Buy your glasses from elsewhere is my recommendation.

Purchased a pair of reading glasses and driving glasses in December 2024. The service from the person on the counter in Peterborough was pretty grim and they appeared not to know anything about there products and they and we’re constantly having to ask other people the answer to my questions. I just felt very uneasy about the whole process with that particular person. Fast forward a few weeks and the glasses needed adjusting. Thankfully another person did that task. In terms of the reading glasses they have been the cheapest pair I’ve ever brought at £120 and in fact the quality reflects that price as the lenses are extremely difficult to clean unlike my older pair of glasses from a different supplier which clean very easily indeed. I would not recommend this company for glasses purely because of the very poor knowledge of the person at the time of the fitting and their lens quality is not very good.

Force you to buy glasses from them.

Staff great. But forcing you to buy from them as don't give you your eye test results, I want to buy my driving glasses from them and lots cheap reading glasses for work as always breaking them. But impossible as don't have my prescription.. First and last time I used Asda opticians

Unbelievable

I am absolutely shocked by the way I was treated at Asda Opticians in Peterborough. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I went to collect my glasses and my wife's glasses, which I had paid for myself. When we ordered them, I specifically asked if I could collect my wife's pair because she works long hours, and I was told this would not be a problem. Instead, I was met by a woman who was incredibly rude, dismissive, and aggressive from the very beginning. She refused to give me my wife's glasses and would not properly explain why. Even after I calmly explained that I had paid for both pairs and could prove it, her attitude only became worse. Another member of staff tried to help, but the situation escalated when the first woman revealed that she was the manager. Rather than trying to resolve the issue professionally, she argued with me, spoke to me disrespectfully, and even threatened to call security and have me banned from the store. I could not believe that someone in a management position would treat a customer this way. A manager should be solving problems, not creating them. I have always expected better from Asda, but this experience was embarrassing, upsetting, and completely unacceptable. I sincerely hope Asda looks into the conduct of its management at this branch, because no customer should ever be treated this way.

I had my eyes tested at the Swindon…

I had my eyes tested at the Swindon branch back in April. The first appointment that I booked got canceled just a few hours before I was due there. In June I decided that I wanted to order a pair of prescription sunglasses for my holiday but I had misplaced my prescription. I tried to phone the store that did my eye test back in April but got no answer just a recorded message. I then contact the optician head office department via email to ask for a copy of my prescription only to be told that I would have to contact the store directly thst did the test. So back to square one I then rang the store again and left a message asking if my prescription could be emailed to me or for it to be added to my online account. I still did not get any response so I had to phone back a few hours later and leave yet another message, this time I received a phone call back a few minutes later. I was then told by the person on the phone that it was not possible to email me a copy or to add it to my account online because the manager for the department was on holiday until next week and they were the only one that could give permission to send it. The only other way for me to receive a copy of my prescription was fot her to post it to me via the mail. This does not make sense to me.

Great service

I used the Asda Toryglen opticians for the first time recently and was very happy with the experience. The young woman who dealt with me was very helpful and friendly. Also, the glasses I bought were a bit tight so I tried to adjust them myself which was a disaster as the screws fell out and I lost them but I took them back and the staff were so helpful and got them adjusted perfectly. I only waited a week for my glasses .

Awful service and unprofessional.

Awful service and unprofessional. Its been weeks now since I them my prescription. At first I ordered online. Then they eventually got back to me for my prescription. I sent that. I paid weeks ago. But still no lenses. I have NEVER waited so long for either glasses ir lenses. Asda opticians may look discounted. But you pay for what you get BAD SLOW SERVICE. Find another option!
