On October 9,2025 I purchased a hat. I started deep diving into the company and was concerned about their back story being vague. On October 10, 2025 I contacted them via email which came back undeliverable. I contacted them via Instagram on October 11, 2025. They did not respond until October 27th with a good email address. The order had already been shipped at this point.
When the hat arrived I had to pay the Correos tax on the imported item.
Otrhats refused to send a shipping return and insisted I pay for it myself, which would be half the cost of the hat.
The hat itself is poorly made. The brim is not stiff as quality hats are. I equate it to a costume hat.
Interestingly they have beefed up their backstory and it appears the founder is real.But make no mistake this is a Chinese hat and a Chinese company. Not worth the money even at under 60€.
They sent me wrong size and now they want me to pay for the return and it is expensive. Never ever do business with them again. And they just offered me 15 % of, if they said 50 I considered it.
After ordering I then realised the product was made in China, not only was it expensive but the delivery time was so long I’d almost written it off as a scam, finally my hat arrived and it was of the quality you would buy from a fancy dress shop, probably worth £3.00 if that.
Dishonest business, avoid.
Have a mediocre made hat from China with no size marked within. Ordered a medium and it is an extra large in reality. 6 weeks to be delivered. When I inquired about no evidence of the hat being processed to even begin shipment, was told that it takes time to make a quality hat from the “finest Japanese straw”, yet clearly originated in China based on where the shipment tracking launched from. Very poor experience.
I purchased a hat a month ago for a a birthday. and have yet to receive it. I believe this place is a scam because I talked to USPS and the tracking number doesn't exist. also company says it's in Mexico but email communication is coming from China. please don't buy from this place it's a scam.
Really disappointed with the company - I loved the product from the website BUT that’s where it ends - Hat turned up was wrong size - They said they had spoken to the factory who said it would fit me ! It did not - I sent a photo showing the label with the wrong size and a screen shot of my original confirmed order size - They said they would send out a new hat in the right size - I had to chase continuously for 3 weeks - They emailed so say that the hat was finished and ready to be shipped - A couple of days later they emailed to offer an ‘upgraded’ hat at no additional cost - They sent a photo - I rejected the offer as it was not the style or colour I wanted and I had one the same style already - I asked them to dispatch the one I had originally otoand that they had told me was ready to be shipped 2 days before - The hat turned up 3 weeks later and was the upgraded one they had offered (which I had declined) and was still the wrong size - I said I would like a refund - They said they would only do this if I paid for the hats to be returned - Just very very disappointed and would not recommend this company in anyway whatsoever!
Total scam! I wish I'd read these reviews before I bought a hat from there. I too received a tracking number that's clearly fake because it shows as delivered when it wasn't, and there is no record of a package being received by USPS from China. I reached out to the "company" who replied via email with "call USPS".
Pretty sure this is just a fake setup to scam money. I'll wait to see if a cartoon hat shows up in the mail like it did for another person who left a review.
Save yourself time and money and do not purchase from this place.
UPDATE: I filed a dispute with my credit card company, and within a couple of day of that, this company reached out to me and said they shipped another hat. It arrived today and is exactly as it was described. I'm not sure if the credit card company contacting them lit the fire necessary to actually ship a hat, but something did. Another interesting tidbit: this hat is postmarked from LA and not from China. This entire experience is strange to say the least. I still wouldn't recommend the company because 4 months and a credit card dispute is a real pain just to get a hat.
Should be -10 it's junk. First they send a false tracking number. Post office said it was not a USPS number. The company says it was delivered. I appealed to PayPal. They said company provided a "delivered tracking number" I never got the hat, figured my money was gone. Forward 2.5 weeks. I get a small box with a wadded up JUNK china made hat, that I would be ashamed to be seen in. It has so many wrinkles in it it looks like it was shipped under the seat of a truck It might be ok for a Halloween Costume. DO NOT BUY HERE
They deserve -5 stars because this site and company is clearly a scam. Here is what their return policy states:
If you are not happy with your purchase and wish to return an item, please contact us within 45 days from receiving your order. Please provide your order number as well as the reason for your return. Our customer service team will review the return request and will send further instructions if the return is approved. Only items purchased directly from otraland.com will be accepted. For products purchased from authorized retailers, please get in touch with them directly for returns.
