Custom Paint By Number is a magical gift!
The first time I used PBN I was surprised at how nice the picture turned out...so I did several more...but when my granddaughter, Cierra presented me with a "Custom Paint By Number", I was amazed at how exactly like the original picture it turned out! She had HER favorite photo of she and me made into a custom PBN...I painted it and gave it back to her as a gift. She LOVES IT!
That started a whole new hobby for me. Now, I use the Custom PBN to make gifts for close friends and family. It ALWAYS is welcome and they are always surprised at "what an artist" I am.
Try doing a special photo...it is so cool!

Poor paint calibration
As you can see, the dog in the photo is shades of brown and white and the paint they sent in the kit is primarily blue and green. On what planet is a malamute green and blue? They obviously need to recalibrate their paint dispenser and I will have to try to fix this painting with my own paint colors.
Also, there are dozens of teeny tiny itsy bitsy spots of different colors that represent highlights and shadows, yet the dog’s two front feet were numbered with a big blob of one color. All the definition you see in this photo was improvised by me.
Two stars because it can be a fun experience but this particular kit was a big disappointment.

Painting picture quality
The photo I sent in was for a beautiful Cape Code ocean view at sunset and with the 36 color option I believed that it would look similar enough to the original that you could make out what it was. The photo, once rendered into the system, seemed to be darker, which led to the actual painting to look like a monotone blob instead of the variance of colors I thought would be there. This could be my own fault as I did not purchase the 48 color version but I had believed that the 36 would’ve at least been serviceable for the price. I think I will be looking elsewhere for another painting in the future and am hoping for a possible refund on the order.

Got my kit last week and couldn't wait to start painting. Still working on it, but it's turning out so good already!
Love the product! I can't believe how easy it was, the quality is amazing, will be buying again in the future!

I have ordered from this company before and I was very pleased by it and was so excited to order more. The second time I ordered was very disappointing. The colors did not match the picture I sent in or the color palette they sent back. Colors that were supposed to be a light brown (on the actual picture and the one they sent back) were actually green or grey paints. It’s very disheartening because it isn’t cheap to order these.

Quick response to save a project
As I was trying to put a second coat to smooth out the filled areas, I had trouble figuring what number color I had used. I requested a copy of the numbered canvas to use as a map to finish. Paint with Number was fast acting, the same day. I couldn’t be happier with the company. It encourages me to use them again.

I ordered a Custom Paint by #’s Kit
I ordered a Custom Paint by #’s Kit - 40x50cm / 48 colors. The #’s were so close together in several areas, that they were on top of each other & I couldn’t make out which #’s were which, so I wasn’t sure what color several areas were supposed to be painted. Countless areas had sections to paint that were so microscopic, you couldn’t get their smallest paintbrush in the area. I wish they had told me for the size I purchased, I either needed to do less colors (24 or 36), or needed to order a larger canvas if I wanted to do 48 colors. I ended up throwing it in the trash.

I was looking forward to this custom…
I was looking forward to this custom kit — I uploaded my own photo — but I’m really disappointed with the result. For the price I paid, I genuinely expected a decent level of detail, and what I got is far below that.
The biggest problem is the face. Where the eye should be, there’s just a solid black patch with a single white dot in it. No eyeball, no iris, no shape — nothing. Just black with a white dot. You honestly cannot tell it’s an eye. The colors are also noticeably different from my original photo.
Your kits only come in one detail level, with no option to choose more colors or higher detail for custom portraits. Other custom paint-by-numbers shops offer 36 or 48 color upgrades specifically because faces need that level of detail to look right. For a personalized portrait at this price, the result should at least clearly resemble the reference photo I uploaded
