Dr. Emmel responds really quickly to questions and concerns along with doing Virtual Classrooms for extra guidance on students who feel overwhelmed or lost. This program really brakes certain topics down for someone who has little to no knowledge to understand. The math section which is known to be the most intimidating section was fairly simple after watching the videos and tons of practice.
This course is very interactive, which is great, and also informative in the studies of what is needed to be knowledgeable to become a Pharmacy Tech. The course helps to set you at ease during your learning with knowing you are able to go back to any course and refresh yourself or retake the whole course again. All the while, support from Dr. Emmel is always there to help you along the way. His live Virtual classroom's are where you can ask him questions during the session and you participate in helping yourself and others learn as well. Dr. Emmel's feedback after each module is great. His help in making you feel confident during this course, and the confidence you will get before taking the State exam is and will be invaluable. Good luck to all who decide to go through this program while becoming fully prepared to take the State test and to pass the first time.

Motivational and Organized Coursework - Fantastic Experience!
I appreciated the organization of this course into modules that made it easy to understand the goal of the lesson, but short enough to feel like I was accomplishing something. The modules included voice and closed captions to fit my learning needs. I loved that I could keep track of my course achievements with a percentage complete. This kept me motivated to get to the course completed. I enjoyed the flexibility that the. course offered to skip around while learning some of the trickier drug modules. The director, Dr. Emmel, was fantastic and prompt to reply directly to my questions offering me valuable feedback. I would love to take continuing education courses from this vendor if those were offered! - Abby
Pharmacy Tech Scholar provides a thorough presentation to prepare anyone, with zero or "anecdotal" medication knowledge, the needed information to prepare for the PTCE. Easy to understand and comprehend, the material does not spend time in peripheral info but focuses on what's needed. This is good as it does not bias one who is not yet immersed in a particular setting to thinking only one way but is a good foundation with which to build upon once practicing in one's particular locale. This course provides all the information you need, making it thorough but still digestible, and not extremely hard to get through.The hints to remember medications are very helpful, and the course explains procedures and why we do them, rather than just saying the procedure and leaving it at that. The math part of the course is also great, not overly convoluted and easily expands on math concepts already commonly known. Dr. Emmel, the instructor, also checks in frequently to ensure you are understanding the concepts, so should you struggle to grasp something, support is well within reach! To anyone looking to take the PTCE, I suggest giving this course a try.

The program Pharmacy Tech Scholar was very user friendly and easy to understand. The process from start to finish exceeded my expectations, especially the videos it felt like a real classroom environment. The website is easy to use, everyone is friendly, there are tons of resources, lectures are structured in an easy-to-understand manner, and the extra activities are genuinely helpful. I definitely recommend this program!
The course is extremely informative and gives so much important information. I've taken other courses in the span of my career as a pharmacy technician, and without a doubt, this is far superior, and I feel much more prepared to take my PTCE. My previous course only very briefly touched on the top 200 drugs, whereas this one gives comprehensive information on them. I love that there is a video of the instructor as well as slides to go along with the lecture. It makes taking notes and studying much easier.
The extra material that is required reading and preferred reading, only found to be somewhat helpful. If you want a lot of extra work that gives a little more than what the instructor is giving you, then it may be right for you, but I found that I didn't really need it to perform well on the tests.
The Pharmacy Math portion, I wish he would have spent more time on and done more examples working through with us, as I am terrible at math and needed more help and instruction on this section. The required reading did not help me, as I need to see it and hear it being performed in person, rather than just looking and reading it in a book.
Overall, I thought that he spent a good amount of time covering the material in order to prepare me for the exams. Only a few times did I feel rushed. As I mentioned before, The slides are so helpful. and a visual and auditory learner, I got the material in both ways and it just helped to cement it in my memory.

I am coming to the end of my course, and it's been very organized. Dr. Emmel is very professional and easy to contact. The overall course is very well put together and organized. There are videos, exams, additional resources, flash cards, and more. There are also live sessions with Dr. Emmel, which are very helpful. All of the modules are to the point and effective. Anyone looking to take a course for a Pharmacy Technician, this is the way to go. It was a wonderful experience, and I hope anyone who's having trouble trying to choose a course chooses this one.
