What reviewers say

Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently mention that the website is extremely easy to navigate and allows them to find clear travel options effortlessly. Travelers find the online booking process to be smooth, efficient, and straightforward, enabling them to complete their ticket reservations in just a few minutes.
However, some customers also noted that they were charged unexpectedly high fees and steep markups compared to booking directly through the official train operators. Some reviewers were dissatisfied with a perceived lack of transparency regarding service charges and hidden costs discovered after completing their purchases.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! They pay Google to show up first when you search for rail tickets somewhere, but they just jack up the price up to 4 times the price you would pay if you just bought them directly from the rail company. Since they're a customer of Google they constantly keep taking down my negative review because "it doesn't follow their policies".

I had ticketing problems with Rail Ninja and to be be frank, I was very unhappy.
Following an adverse review, I have to say that the senior support specialist Elizabeth was extremely professional and followed up on my complaint. This led to the very speedy rectification of the problem. Thank you.
I do suggest people purchase your tickets locally at the train station or ask a local person to do it for you on the local app. It is cheaper and overall probably a better experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Charles. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
Rail Ninja is a ticket booking service, and we issue only official tickets provided by the train carrier. The travel class indicated on the ticket reflects the class confirmed by the carrier at the time of booking. In your case, the ticket was issued as first class.
We have already contacted the train carrier to clarify all the details since the 1st class has been booked and confirmed.
This “company” is a scam. The ticket price was marked up by more than four times the actual fare for our trip in Spain. The pricing breakdown and added fees were not disclosed prior to purchase.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Ahmet. We’re sorry to hear about your impression.
Rail Ninja is a ticket booking service, and the total price includes service-related costs such as booking handling, payment processing, currency conversion, and customer support. The pricing details and applicable fees are displayed during the booking process before payment is completed.
Regarding the price difference, please share your booking details with our Support Team ([email protected]) so we can review your case in detail. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Thank you for your feedback, Sabry.
We processed your booking as quickly as possible, and the tickets were sent to you within 3 minutes of completing the order. Could you please let us know what went wrong? You can email our Support Team with more details at [email protected], and we’ll be happy to help.
We appreciate you sharing your experience.
There is a non-refundable 20% service fee with no grace period. Also, seat selection on the highest level of rail ticket is not available. Save yourself the money and go directly to the rail services website.
In response to their response, I had booked business plus tickets which according to the rail services website is fully refundable before departure. There is no $100 refund fee that Ninja Rail claims they had to pay to cancel my tickets.

Thank you for your feedback, Stacy. We’re sorry to hear about your impression.
Rail Ninja is a ticket booking service, and all fare conditions, including service fees are indicated during the booking process for each tariff. Tickets had been booked booked immediately after the order was placed, and any cancellation fees applied are set by the train carrier. This is why a full refund may not be possible. We hope this clarifies the situation. Thank you for your understanding.
Overpriced ticket, deceptive pricing, and punitive refund policy
RailNinja charged me twice the actual price of a train ticket in Morocco — a ticket that can be easily purchased directly from the local train company's website.
When I complained, RailNinja offered a “credit” equal to the difference between their price and the real ticket price. This response strongly suggests they are fully aware of the discrepancy and rely on customers not noticing.
When I instead requested a refund, they deducted a 10% “service fee”. This business model appears to be based on opaque markups, post-complaint credits, and fees that penalize customers who challenge them. I would strongly advise travelers to book directly with the local rail operator in Morocco and avoid RailNinja altogether.
UPDATE: I have been reimbursed the cancellation fee based on this complaint. Changed to 3 stars.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Christoph. Rail Ninja is a ticket booking company.
The final price paid includes the train fare plus a service fee, which covers ticketing, payment processing, currency exchange, third-party technology, and customer support. Regarding refunds, once tickets are issued, any cancellation is handled accordingly. The train carrier has also charged the cancellation fee since the tickets have been issued already. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Exploitation and taking advantage of customer.
I booked the ticket 8 months ago (May 24, 2025) and paid it.
After 8 months I received an email that my scheduled train is not available and I have to pay additional amount, which is doubling the price.
If money is taken 8 months ago, then ticket should be issued at that time.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration this situation caused.
Tickets can only be issued once the rail carrier releases final availability and seat assignments. In some cases, changes or adjustments may be required. When this happens, we always offer alternative options to our travelers.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
Confirmed, Paid, Then Cancelled: An Unacceptable Failure by Rail Ninja
This experience was an absolute disgrace.
Train Ninja offered the ride from Krakow to Berlin, accepted payment, and explicitly confirmed that the payment was successful and the booking completed. Then, more than two hours later, they cancelled the ticket claiming there were “no seats available.”
That is not a minor inconvenience. That is a complete failure of basic service. If there are no seats, you do not take payment and confirm a booking. Discovering this after confirmation suggests either incompetence or a broken booking system.
The situation is even worse because this train was part of a longer journey. We had a confirmed connecting train from Berlin to Amsterdam, which was put at risk because of Rail Ninja’s mistake. This created unnecessary stress, uncertainty, and potential financial loss.
Selling a ticket, confirming payment, and then cancelling hours later due to lack of availability is unacceptable. A service that cannot reliably manage availability and confirmations should not be selling international train tickets at all.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before relying on Rail Ninja for time-sensitive or multi-leg journeys.

Thank you for your feedback, Bram. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this caused. The booking was made less than 24 hours before departure. As Rail Ninja is a ticket booking service, we depend on live availability from the rail carriers, which can change very quickly close to departure-especially on international and high-demand routes. While we always work to confirm reservations as quickly as possible, there are rare cases where seats become unavailable shortly after a booking is placed. We offered two alternative options, and we’re sorry they didn’t fit your plans. A full refund has already been processed.
We appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback and appreciate your understanding.
Rail Ninja sells KORAIL tickets at prices higher than their actual face value. Customers who wish to purchase KORAIL tickets should use the official website: korail.com

Thank you for your feedback. Rail Ninja is a ticket booking service, and the final price may differ from the carrier’s face value as it includes service-related costs such as ticketing, payment processing, currency exchange, and customer support. To help us review the details of your booking and better address your concerns, could you please share your order ID? Once we have it, we’ll be able to look into the case and follow up accordingly.
Complete failure and scam.
I was traveling to the UK and bought my train tickets with months in advance only to get an email a week before my trip that there was "a change in my itinerary" and they were offering bus tickets instead which completely changed my schedule. Asked for a refund. Since it was so close, I opted to buy directly on a true railway company. Very disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone who likes to plan out their trips months in advance.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Berny. We’re truly sorry for the frustration this situation caused. In some cases, rail carriers update schedules or make changes, which can unfortunately affect advance reservations. Regrettably, the original direct train was no longer available, which is why we offered the bus option-to keep the route as direct as originally planned. We understand how disruptive this can be and regret that the proposed option didn’t fit your plans. Your feedback is really appreciated.
Dear Aaron,
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and that you had to cancel your tickets. The refund was processed in accordance with the fare conditions of the tariff selected at the time of booking. We appreciate your understanding.
Scam. Employees said they didn't accept tickets from this site and that I got scammed.

We’re sorry to hear about this experience, Jimothy. Rail Ninja is a ticket booking company and does not create or issue its own tickets. All tickets attached to bookings are official tickets provided directly by the train carrier, and these are the only valid documents for travel.
At the moment, we’re unable to locate a booking under your name. To look into this properly and assist you, please share your order ID. We’ll be happy to review the case and clarify the situation.
Scammy. Prices are way overpriced, and sometimes you don't get the tickets. Might even leave you stranded if they can't get you ticket and the tickets are sold out.
If you ask for a refund, they will ask you to cancel only one leg, and after you did, they disable the refund of the other leg. Very scummy practices.
Lots of bad reviews everywhere.

We’re sorry you had this impression. Rail Ninja is a ticket-booking service, if the carrier cannot confirm the selected option, we notify travelers and offer alternatives or a refund. If you share your order ID, we’ll review the full history of your booking and get back to you. Thank you for your understanding.
They do not actually issue tickets they will send a reservation code and you have to retrieve the ticket at he station which means 1) waiting in line and 2) more importantly, NOT ALL STATIONS WILL HONOR THE RESERVATION CODES.
Reply from Rail Ninja2025-12-02
Thank you for your feedback, Peter. We want to clarify that as a ticket booking company, we do not generate QR codes or tickets directly. The reservation codes are issued based on the official train carrier’s processes, and these codes are what you need to exchange for your ticket at the station. We are not authorized to create tickets ourselves, as they would not be valid for travel.
We do provide the official confirmation received from the train carrier. Thank you for your understanding.
My wife purchased tickets for a train from Porto to Lisbon on what she thought was the official train website only to be directed to their website where tickets for a slower train were more expensive and slower, and dropped us off at a farther station. After looking at the real train website was able to buy high-speed tickets for cheaper to a closer station. They pay google to push their fake website for unsuspecting tourists. Absolutely criminal.

Thank you for your feedback, James. We want to clarify that Rail Ninja is a ticket booking service and not the official rail operator, as stated on our main page. We aim to be transparent and provide a convenient way for travelers to book tickets online.

Super bad review. Sold x5 the price of Seoul Busan train. Then got my review here removed. Shame.

I booked a train for the next day, then later received an email stating the reservation had to be changed due to circumstances. I picked a new one from their given options. Received an email stating it had to be changed again, within 6 minutes after receiving the email, I did. Then got another email saying this train reservation has to be changed as well. WITHIN 1 MINUTE I booked another one, picked from the options they gave me and YET AGAIN I got an email saying it wasn't possible. 5 hours and 3 changes later, I still have no booking!
I definitely don't recommend this place!

We are very sorry for the frustration you experienced. We understand how important it is to have a confirmed booking, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the availability changes. Since your booking was made for the next day, the availability was constantly updating, which led to the issues you faced. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Booked tickets for 1st class in Korea. Got the tickets before the start of my journey. While in the train, guy approached me saying I was in his seat. Got kicket out of the train because conductor said my ticket was refunded. I never asked for a cancellation or a refund. Support agent told me that Korean operator cancelled my tickets. Nobody informed me about the cancellation or about the refund. If I didn't contact them, they wouldn't even give me my money back. Had to buy new ticket to get to my destination
Reply from Rail Ninja2025-11-17
Dear Domagoj,
The cancellation was initiated on the rail operator’s side-not by us-and, regrettably, we received no advance notice to alert you before boarding. We recognize how unacceptable that felt.
A full refund has been issued on our end; posting to your account depends on your bank’s processing timeline. Wishing you smoother journeys ahead.
