If I could give them less than a one I…

If I could give them less than a one I would. This situation started in June and I am still dealing with it. I am so disappointed and frustrated with Renewal by Anderson. I had a design consultant come out to the house to show us their doors. We went through the designs and the consultant told us that we had 3 months to accept the designs or cancel. One week after their visit, my daughter fell down some stairs and injured her herself. She is being seen by 5 different doctors. She has not been able to work seen the fall. I called Renewal by Anderson corporate office and the local office; plus the loan company. I explained to each of them what was going on and that I needed to cancel the order. Every one I talked to said OK it would be canceled. A week after that called I received a call from Renewal by Anderson, saying that I had canceled my loan and how was I going to pay for the doors. So again I called everyone, including the loan company explaining all over again the situation. Then 2 week after that another phone call asking how I was going to pay for the doors. So I called everyone again. Then 2 weeks later another call asking how I was going to pay for the doors. So, again I am calling everyone, including the loan company. The loan company told me that they cancelled the loan on July 27 by some how Renewal by Anderson managed to get over $9,700 from them as a deposit, which they did not authorize and they started production on the doors at the warehouse. So again, I am on the phone calling everyone. Again I was told it would be taken care of. Today I received a call from Renewal by Anderson to verify by install date. I am beyond livid. I told this person the same thing. She said she never received a cancellation notice. I can't believe how this company operates. No one is talking to anyone else. I even called corporate every time that I called the local office and no one has evidence that I ever called. This seems very underhanded and illegal to me. They will be hearing from my lawyer. I will tell everyone that I talk to, to not use this company for anything. Plus, their prices are outrageous. They now want $20,000.00 for two doors. Crazy expensive. They expect me to pay for their mistake. Even the loan company said that this was on them and I am not paying for anything from them. They were going to ask for their money back.

My experience with Renewal by Andersen…

My experience with Renewal by Andersen has been extremely disappointing. When I first contacted the company in April about replacing a window, they were eager to come to my home, provide information, and move forward with the project. After I decided to purchase the window, the representative told me installation would take approximately 30 days. However, he never explained that a permit would need to be obtained through my town. It is now August, and my window is not scheduled to be installed until the end of September. I ordered the window in April expecting to have it installed during the spring or summer, but the installation will now take place in the fall. The communication throughout this process has been extremely poor. In June, I was told the delay was due to the town’s permits and plans. More recently, I received a call from a company called Permit Flow stating that they were trying to file the permit and needed a copy of my survey, as well as a notarized document. To me, that felt as if I was lied to because a permit hasn’t even been filed yet. When I contacted my representative, he told me those matters had already been handled. This left me even more confused. Who is Permit Flow? Why are they calling on behalf of Renewal by Andersen? Has my permit actually been filed? Unfortunately, I still have not received clear answers. I checked the towns data base and there is no filed permit on their website. My representative has been responsive to my text messages, and I appreciate that. However, responding to messages is not the same as resolving a customer’s concerns. I was told that a supervisor would call me, but three days later, I still had not heard from anyone. I also called Renewal by Andersen’s 800 number directly and was told I would receive a callback within 24 to 48 hours. That was on Monday, and I am still waiting for a response. The window will cost more than $20,000. My complaint is not about the price. I understood what I was purchasing and chose to move forward. My concern is the level of service and communication after the sale. The company was extremely responsive and eager when I was considering the purchase, but now that the order has been placed, I feel unable to get clear answers or speak with someone who can explain what is happening. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. For a company and product at this price point, I expected much better customer service, communication, and follow-through. Based on my experience so far, if I had to do it all over again, I would never choose Renewal by Andersen. If I knew it would take this long for a window I would have never moved forward with the process. I called to request a cancellation the other day and as I stated I still haven't heard from one person!

False Advertisments

I called to get somebody out to give me an estimate on replacing some storm doors off my upstairs patio master bedroom. I was told that unless I order the two main doors, they do not offer doing any storm doors even if my main doors are in excellent condition and I am very happy with them. All their advertisements make it sound like they are willing to do storm doors, but apparently not unless they make more money by doing your main doors. They should make sure that they include that policy of theirs or maybe not even offer storm doors. To me that’s false advertisement. If you are going to advertise doing storm doors, you have to include that only with the main doors.

Disaster by Andersen

For the 7th time this year Renewal by Andersen showed up to fix numerous issues with our large LR window section. Every time a different "fixer". IMHO, they have no idea how, what nor why! RBA I cannot recommend. Now I understand why they have rating of only 1-1/2 stars. Wow!

If I could give less than 1 I would

If I could give less than 1 I would. I spent nearly 20k on 2 doors and a window and aam a year in. So far I've had them come out multiple times to try and make the doors slide right without herculean effort. One is working acceptably the other still requires another service call. Note- 2x I got a call after taking the day off that the technician would not make it that day. I'm an hourly consultant that works from the office. Thus I lost money waiting. Not to mention the inconvenience. Secondly- Don't get the dissapearing screen doors. While pretty. They are extremly fragile. My dog barely pushed against it and the glue on the track gave way. This could have been a foot a small child or anything else. The quote 770 dollars to replace. Their response. Out of our hands. My fault. It lasted a couple months. Honestly, when selling the product they should warn the homeowner of the cost and don't expect it to last. I had planned to do more windows in the house but I'm taking my money elsewhere. A year to do fixes is unacceptable. Making me take time off then cancel worse. A fragile product that costs nearly a grand to replace unacceptable.

Ripe for a class action lawsuit for spamming

The only thing they do well is generate massive amounts of spam. The average review on TrustPilot (1.7 as I type) says all you need to know, arguably. Also amusing that on their site, the average alleged review is 4.9. I wonder which one of these shouldn't be trusted... :-)

The windows were overpriced

The windows were overpriced, the workmanship was a disgrace and they built them to open the opposite way I specified. I am having a contractor spend a lot of time repairing the shoddy work before they can be painted. They caulked using silicone which can’t be painted. They should know that. I always thought highly of Andersen windows until I heard Renewal is their cheap version as far as quality and workmanship but very still extremely pricey. They should be ashamed of producing such an inferior product.

I had a patio door installed and had…

I had a patio door installed and had some issues. They came out and fixed the small issues I had but this time I ran into a brick wall for service again to my door. The one person I finally talked to said she will send someone out. No one came and I called and from then on no one would answer the phone. I called the co. in MN and they told me the local person for their company would take care of it. Nothing ever happened. I have a 10 yr. warranty on my door. Seems like everyone lies to you to get your money. Soo disappointed with these so called "Great Company" slogans.

Former RbA Employee: Look Beyond the Polished Sales Pitch

Former RbA Employee: Look Beyond the Polished Sales Pitch I'm a former RbA Portland employee who worked as a Design Consultant selling RbA projects to homeowners. I'm writing because homeowners and job seekers deserve to understand what I experienced behind the company's polished public image. I came away with serious concerns about the sales culture, customer experience, and reputation management. The sales process I was trained on focused heavily on closing during the initial appointment. Failing to close was treated as a lost opp, with no follow-up needed. Customers were presented with urgency around same-day discounts and encouraged toward expensive options. For a purchase that can cost tens of thousands of dollars and more, get multiple independent bids and give yourself time to think. RbA isn't the only way to purchase Andersen-made windows. Andersen products are available through independent dealers and qualified contractors. Compare those options before assuming RbA is your only choice. Early in my experience, leadership asked whether I had received my first angry customer calls yet. I was told these calls were simply part of the job, experienced salespeople ignore them, and an overseas team handled angry customers so sales could focus on selling. I subsequently encountered customers dealing with project complications and unexpected costs. Ask before signing what happens when unexpected conditions arise, what the contract and warranty cover, and who pays for work outside the initial scope. I would also question whether a branded installation process is automatically superior to every qualified independent contractor. Ask what is actually proprietary, who performs the installation, their qualifications, and what the warranty covers. My most serious concern involved Google reviews. I was encouraged by RbA leadership to solicit positive Google reviews from people who were not necessarily customers. I was specifically told I could ask essentially anyone, including family, friends, and even my “mail carrier” to leave an RbA Google review, provided they agreed to give five stars. I am not claiming every positive RbA review is fake. I'm stating what I personally experienced and was instructed to do. When non-customers are encouraged to post 5-star reviews, those ratings affect the overall score and make genuine customer experiences difficult to distinguish. That raised serious concerns for me about whether the public five-star rating accurately reflects customer experience. For prospective employees: Ask about same-day closing expectations, quotas, turnover, unhappy customers, and the substantial gas and equipment expenses employees pay out of pocket. Also ask how often reps are sent to appointments that have already cancelled or are otherwise unqualified, wasting significant time and personal expense. If possible, speak with current and former employees before accepting the job. There are good people working at RbA Portland, and the product may be appropriate for some homeowners. But based on what I experienced, I would not endorse the sales model and would never hire RbA for my own home. Finally, don't assume the premium price means better value. In my research, comparable Andersen Fibrex products with similar specifications and installation scope could potentially cost substantially less through qualified independent contractors. In the comparisons I reviewed, the difference was 30%–66% more money for the same project with RbA than with other equally qualified installers putting in, all things considered, equal fibrex products. Enough of a price increase for the same end product to convince me the RbA premium deserves scrutiny. This was just my research, do your own. Important Distinction: Andersen Windows & Doors (orange logo) is the established manufacturer with more than a century of history based in MN. Renewal by Andersen (green logo) is a separate replacement-window business within the Andersen organization. Key Fact: RbA also operates through independently owned affiliates. The Portland RbA is an independently owned affiliate, not Andersen Windows & Doors and not RbA Corporate. Yet, it operates as the RbA name and benefits from the recognition and reputation of the Andersen brand by using the vague term 'affiliate.' That distinction matters when a project goes wrong. A homeowner contracting with a local RbA affiliate is dealing with that local business, not directly with Andersen Windows & Doors or RbA Corporate. Know exactly which entity you're contracting with and who is responsible when problems arise. Andersen, RbA Corporate, and a local RbA affiliate are not the same entities. Know who you're working with.

Excellent product

We have had 2 doors & a total of 12 windows replaced under 4 contracts. We order & pay off what we can afford over the 12 months & then order the next set. Our house backs to a noisy 5-lane & the products have really silenced the noise. They have also had produced about 25-30% reductions in heating costs or A/C costs. Installations have always been professionally done. They did install one window with a defect as the old one was already removed. They came back once the new one was shipped. No extra charge & it gave us 2 more months to pay off the contract with no interest. Their Green Sky program is clear & easy to understand. It also notifies you about 6 weeks prior to the end of the interest-free period so you do not have to pay interest unless you are negligible. While they are expensive, they have really increased the value of our home. Neither my husband or I understand all the negative reviews. Our salesman has always let us dictate what we can purchase each time without any pressure. Also, we received better discounts on subsequent orders. If some of these people did all at once, they missed the savings on future purchases that were clearly explained on the first order. We feel that the firm is both responsible & the products are of excellent quality.

Don’t do it

Don’t do it! There is cheaper and better service out there! We had their windows and a door installed at the beginning of June 2026. The windows and the door are really nice. The installers were great. Everyone behind the scenes, however, from sales to customer service is just really under serving in almost every way possible. Sales doesn’t want to hear from you after they’ve made the sale. The project manager is over it kinda the whole time but definitely once install is completed. Then you’re left with a (likely underpaid) “concierge” who is left to deal with upset customers and can’t help much or update you on anything. On the day of install we immediately found out that the electronic Yale door knob on the door did not work. After many calls from us, and reschedules on their end they finally scheduled a new doorknob install for August 5th. Two months. The new Yale door knob STILL doesn’t work, which was discovered on August 5th by the installer. Same issues as the last one. We are now at August 11th and they are just ghosting us. Every single person we have tried to contact for the last week has ignored, or said they’d follow up and has not. So here we are! Big thank you to Geoffrey Kurowski in sales, our project manager Thomas Willoughby and I’m not going to name the concierge cause she’s been the most helpful but still not able to do much. One star for trash customer service. 34k for windows and a door, by the way, readers.

I requested a quote from the local…

I requested a quote from the local Renewal company. It was to replace broken French doors leading to our back patio. The sales rep did the measurements and offered me a discounted (this month only) price of $17,000. And no, I didn’t want it made out of gold. I called the local Lowes window installer. I got a comparable quality French door set professionally installed for $7,000. I don’t understand the 5 star comments on this site, some folks are just that gullible.

Takes advantage of immigrants whos…

Takes advantage of immigrants whos English is not good, they also manipulate them as well really sad and unethical stuff from this company. When they give u an offer in reality once you sign that form that offer is dog shit in the long run also this company doesn’t care about you one bit all they care about is your money. They also charge you 3x the price and don’t even show the prices on the forms. You’re better off finding someone else don’t give your money to this scummy company full with greed.

This company is truly repellent

This company is truly repellent. In fact, their high-pressure and deceptive sales practices were so bad that we ended up cancelling the appointment before they even arrived. They called us three times prior to the establsihed meeting to ensure that we had allotted 90 minutes for their sales rep to speak with us. The whole point was not to simply measure our windows and give us a price, but to deliver a high-pressure and deceptive sales pitch based on overpriced products and false claims about where it comes from. And after we finally blew up at them on the phone they continued to call -- and still continue to call. I am writing this because they have just called again, a month after the cancelled appointment, and after we have now made it absolutely clear we never want to hear from them again. America, listen--this kind of psychotic capitalism does nothing but pit everyone against everyone else. Put and end to these people -- DO NOT USE THEM.

Employee went out of their way to help me

I had to write to the company several times before they would honor the lifetime limited warranty. After their employee spoke with a supervisor they said they were making an exception and are shipping me the replacement parts needed to fix our storm door. Problem solved so I’m pleased that the employee went to their supervisor instead of blowing me off

Don't even talk to this organization.

I spend about $100K with Renewal By Andersen of San Diego. The only positive thing I can say about the whole nightmare is that the windows are of a high quality. The hardware and screens are all garbage. The install was a complete nightmare that took over a year of them disappearing and not communicating. The windows are not actually new construction with a FIN for flashing but do require them to cut into siding to place - it's like the worst of all worlds. Not a great seal and expensive install. Their install relies on calk, not flashing. Its garbage designed to cost more and give nothing. I got 3 sliding doors. They were $30K each!!!! One would think that gets you some level of quality, but the handles have all failed. The screen doors are no better than what you will get on a 1000 Home Depot door. They don't stay on the track and are bubbling in corners. Do yourself a favor and work with someone else. This is a SALES org with the tactics of the old door-to-door vacuum salespeople of old. Simply horrific experience from start to finish.
