Disreputable - You lose even when you should have won

2/5 startups I invested in were supposedly successful. But both turned out to be fraudulent, and Republic did nothing about either. Poor comms, lack of action, opaque practices and zero accountability. Save your money. Even if you select a startup well, you'll lose it.

I bought thousands in Republic Notes…

I bought thousands in Republic Notes and now I'm just watching the value bleed out and can't do anything about it. They parked them on their own affiliate INX, shows up as an asset in my account but completely untouchable, can't move it, can't sell it, just sits there dropping in value. My money is right there on the screen and I can't reach it. Reminds me why I keep my liquid positions on Capitize, at least when I see, I can actually touch it.

I am very disappointed with this company..

I have invested money in 6 start ups with through Republic. I’m honestly beyond disappointed with my experience investing through Republic.co. I went in with excitement and trust, believing I was supporting innovative companies and building something for my future—but instead, I’ve been left feeling ignored and completely in the dark. The most frustrating part? Once your money is in, good luck trying to get in contact with any of the companies you invested in. Communication feels nonexistent. It’s like you’re good enough to fund them, but not important enough to hear from them afterward. That’s not just disappointing—it’s disrespectful. I understand that startups can be busy and not every investment is going to be hands-on, but basic transparency and accessibility should be the bare minimum. Investors shouldn’t feel locked out of the very opportunities they were invited into. Republic presents itself as a platform that empowers everyday investors, but right now it feels more like a one-way street: they take your money, and you’re left hoping for updates that never come. I wanted this to be a positive experience. I really did. But at this point, I wouldn’t recommend investing here unless you’re comfortable with silence and zero accountability. Do better. Your investors deserve that much. I invested in 2021 and have yet to hear from any company that I have invested in. And I have not recieved the perks that I was promised, either. Kynthia S.

Hi Kynthia, We understand how important transparency and ongoing updates are to investors. While Republic provides the platform for issuers to raise capital and engage with their investor communities, communication frequency and perk distribution are generally managed directly by the issuers after an offering is completed. That said, we absolutely recognize the impact this has on your overall experience and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Our team will reach out to you using the email associated with your Republic account so our team can take a closer look and assist where possible. We appreciate your feedback and the trust you placed in the platform.

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish, You will lose money might as well throw it out the window. Don't invest on this site or you won't see your money back, and if you do, it will £0.99p in about 10 years time. Change of name/ownership won't save you.

Not trust worthy

Just had a profitable secondary market transaction arbitrarily cancelled the day after contracts were signed by all parties. Secondary Market is a shambles and they do what they please.

Bought $1,000's in Republic Notes and…

Bought $1,000's in Republic Notes and am being denied access to dispose of them (Value is ever decreasing). The notes were placed on their affiliate "INX" which they now own, and although they show them as an asset in my account, they are not available to my wallet. Have been working on this since last June with no result. My money, "what's left of it" is in some form of limbo and they refuse to correct it. DO NOT INVEST WITH THESE PEOPLE YOU'LL BE WORSE FOR THE EXPERIENCE!!

total scam

This site and their startups are total scam. If you like to throw your money in the toilet give your hard earned money to these grifters!

Reply from Republic2025-12-25

Hi there, Republic is a regulated investment platform, and all offerings go through a review process before being listed. That said, early-stage investing involves risk, and not all startups succeed - something we aim to be transparent about throughout the process. If you have specific concerns about an investment or may be missing updates, we’d be happy to help. Please reach out to us at [email protected], and our team will review your situation.

Be very very careful

Be very very careful. Easy to invest, but hardly anyone in UK / Europe made any money. Multiple share dilutions, devaluations, removal of Rights to shares. The longer you are in a Company, the more you are ignored. Republic in no way act in their investor interests. 3 of 5 in UK now worth zero. It's a Ponzi Scheme, and in UK the flow of funds in is slowing.

Reply from Republic2025-12-09

Thanks for sharing your concerns. Private, early-stage investments can be high risk, and outcomes like dilution or loss of value can happen when companies don’t grow as expected. We understand how frustrating that can be. Republic doesn’t control how issuers perform or how their shares are valued, but we do ensure required disclosures and updates are shared so investors can make informed decisions. If you’d like us to review your specific investments, please email us at [email protected]. We’re here to help.
