What people say

hardware good - Software Not so great

The hardware is very good but the Software is still behind. It feels unfinished and the given information and controlls in Snapmaker Orca and Snapmaker App need improvment. If these minor problems would be adressed the printer would be a 5/5.

I love it in concept but so far ive had a bunch of issues with tool head errors. that kept the machine from working for hours until i looked up enough online to get past the errors. now wen i do long prints it keeps having toolhead allignment errors so it says but restarting it will fix it for a few layers and then it pauses again. very frustrating.. once all the bugs are worked out this will be a fantastic machine

Positive deliveries and printing difficulties

I like that Snapmaker informs me of scheduling deliveries. I dislike difficulties printing 3D parts I need using higher temperature filiment (250-280) experiencing error code 13-12/13-18 and clogged nozzles multiple times over the last couple years and have performed the recommended solutions.

Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-30

Hi Bryan, We’re sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced when printing with high-temperature filaments, including error codes 13-12/13-18 and nozzle clogs. We understand how frustrating this can be, especially after performing the recommended solutions. High-temperature filaments can sometimes cause clogging. To help reduce these issues, we recommend: 1. Thoroughly clean the hotend and nozzle before switching to high-temperature filaments. 2. Gradually increasing temperature during the first layer to ensure proper flow. 3. Ensuring that the filament is dry and of consistent quality, as moisture can increase clogs. If you continue to experience repeated clogs or error codes, we encourage you to contact our technical support team at [email protected]. We can provide step-by-step guidance and troubleshoot specific error codes to get your printer running smoothly. We appreciate your patience and your detailed feedback—it helps us improve both our products and support. Warm Regards, Snapmaker

Hasn’t worked since setup

Hasn’t worked since setup. One head refuses to connect. I do the troubleshooting and it fixes for 1 or 2 switches and then fails again

Hi Jason, Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really sorry for the frustrating experience you’ve had. We recommend performing the Homing calibration first. Please also make sure your firmware is updated to version 1.0.0 or later. When adjusting the pick/park toolhead coordinates, it’s important to ensure that the pick pin and the docking hole on the toolhead are properly centered and aligned, as misalignment can lead to connection issues like the one you described. Additionally, if the current toolhead cannot be detached, you can refer to our Wiki guide to manually detach the toolhead before recalibrating. https://wiki.snapmaker.com/en/snapmaker_u1/troubleshooting/How_to_manually_detach_the_toolhead We also noticed that you’ve already submitted a support ticket and that the issue has been resolved by our technical team. If the problem still persists or if you experience any further issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our technical support team again—we’re always here to help. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Warm Regards, Snapmaker

Three out of my 4 hotends came…

Three out of my 4 hotends came pre-clogged. Apparently this is common from factory testing but very disappointing when you spend an hour and a half carefully constructing the printer and have a failed first print. Then have to spend another hour disassembling three print heads to clear clogs that couldn't be cleared with the standard heat and needle process. Luckily I have been 3D printing for over 7 years with various models so I'm not stranger to tinkering and repairs but if someone new to 3D printing were to have this issue, they would be waiting on 3 replacement print heads to ship after waiting weeks or months for their printer.

Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-30

Hi Justin, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the frustrating experience you had. We completely understand how disappointing it is to spend hours assembling your printer only to encounter pre-clogged hotends. As you mentioned, this can occasionally occur due to the factory printing and burn-in tests, where small amounts of filament may retract into the hotend or throat tube. While most experienced users can resolve this with cleaning, we understand that for newcomers, this could be very discouraging. We truly appreciate your patience and expertise in resolving the issue yourself. To prevent similar problems, we’re reviewing this with our production and quality teams and will continue improving our pre-shipment checks. If any of your spare hotends become unusable due to this factory-related issue, please let us know, and we will arrange replacements promptly to ensure a smooth experience for you and other users. We value your feedback greatly—it helps us make the Snapmaker experience better for everyone, including new users. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have further questions or need assistance. Warm Regards, Snapmaker

Great machine

Shipment was a smooth delivery so far i'm extremely happy with the snapmaker u1. It's definitely a lot nicer with the 4 print heads instead of one. The prints i've done so far, the poop is minimal compared to what I'm used to. It will definitely save lots of filament and $$$ If I had to give a downside, it's nothing to do with the machine. It's just snapmaker doesn't have much of a variety of filaments, so I have to use everybody else's brand.

Snapmaker U1 review

Bought the Snapmaker U1 and it arrived pretty quick. Detailed quickstart guide and easy to set up. Printquality is simply great. But some negative things about the printer: i am not a fan of the frame limitation of the built in camera. I dont wanna watch my print 1 frame per second, i‘d like to get the up to 30 frames it can do with custom firmware, but on the official firmware. And for some reason none of the ai features work for me

Great printer in general

Great printer in general, speedy upgrade from a P1S with awesome multicolor support. Sadly the desktop app is very slow on launch and the iOS mobile app has basic features only but these are minor details hopefully rectified by an update. But most concerning was clotted toolhead from the start: I unboxed, installed and calibrated everything (great tutorials), only to find out the rightmost toolhead was stuttering and serving no filament. Upgraded the firmware. Same problem. Then I unscrewed the toolhead according to a video up until I could inspect the drive gears - something very tedious and not for the faint. One blueish piece of plastic was stuck between them and the hotend! After I removed it and assembled the toolhead again, calibrating, feeding the filament - everything works now.

The APP is 0 of 5 stars total 💩

The APP is 0 of 5 stars total 💩 The printer is 4.5 stars Setup 4 stars (easy if you follow instructions)

⭐ T “Looks polished on the outside, but the customer experience tells a different story”rustpilot Review

⭐ Trustpilot Review — “Looks polished on the outside, but the customer experience tells a different story” Snapmaker markets itself as a premium, high‑end brand, but my experience showed a company whose internal processes feel far less professional than the image they project. I pre‑ordered a product based on information that turned out to be unclear, and the communication that followed was inconsistent enough that I had to chase basic details. For a company operating at this price point, the lack of clarity and structure was surprising and felt more like dealing with a startup still figuring out its workflow. When I raised the issue, I was told that $50 was the maximum refund possible. The moment I questioned it, a $65 coupon suddenly became available. That shift made it difficult to take their “policy limits” seriously. It came across less like a defined system and more like numbers being improvised depending on how much the customer pushes back. The coupon wasn’t meaningful compensation either, as it required me to spend more money with Snapmaker and was issued in USD despite me being a UK customer. That alone shows how little consideration has gone into the customer experience outside their home region. What really highlights the inconsistency is the contrast between how paying customers are treated and how freely Snapmaker sends out machines worth thousands to influencers for exposure. Strict caps for genuine customers, yet no such limits when it comes to marketing giveaways — it doesn’t create the impression of a company with well‑structured or customer‑focused policies. In the end, I accepted the $50 cash refund because it was the only option that didn’t require further spending. The support agent was polite, but the overall process felt rigid, improvised, and not aligned with the inconvenience caused. Snapmaker’s hardware may look premium, but the customer experience behind it feels disorganised and surprisingly amateur for a brand positioning itself at this level.

Hi Phillip Noel, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration you experienced during your pre-order and the follow-up communication. We understand that clear and consistent communication is critical, especially for pre-order products. We’ve reviewed your feedback and want to share some improvements we are implementing: Product Pages & Order Confirmation: Estimated shipping dates are currently shown on product add-to-cart pages, and pre-order notifications are included in order confirmation emails. We realize these messages may sometimes be overlooked, so we are reviewing how we can make this information more prominent to ensure no customer misses it. Checkout Transparency: We have already noted your comment about the estimated shipping time not being clearly displayed on the checkout page. This feedback has been shared with our operations team, and we are working on optimizing the checkout process to make shipping timelines more visible. Customer Communication: We are strengthening internal processes to provide consistent updates and clearer policies, including refunds and coupons, so that every customer feels confident in the support they receive. We truly value your honest feedback, as it helps us align our premium hardware with a premium customer experience. Our team is committed to improving communication and ensuring that our policies are clear and consistent worldwide. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to demonstrate these improvements in your future interactions with Snapmaker. Warm Regards, Snapmaker

The best buy in the category. It ROCKS! Except...

--EDIT -- I'm amending my review. Here was I thinking SnapMaker were foolishly different from other 3D Printer Brands. Nope. I live in NZ and getting parts and filament from 3D printer brands is a 50/50 deal. Good ones ship worldwide and look after their customers regardless of where they are at reasonable prices. Bad ones, (esp. after their Kickstarter is finished) then swap to be only interested in volume sales through the cheapest channels to large countries and populations. Sadly SnapMaker with the release of their new line of filaments either won't ship them to NZ or charges more for shipping than the products in your cart because... we're small. We're right next to Australia for F sake and they don't charge them like wounded bulls. It's literally a stones throw across the Tasman sea — they're happy to ship to Ausi cheaply or free. I give it a few more months before they won't ship parts here either. So 1 Star for them until they change tactics. -- End Edit -- The U1 is hard to define but in a good way. It's not a super amazing over engineered feat of genius — but it does stands up to heavy scrutiny. In short... IT ROCKS. Why? They've taken the best of what's out there in the world, listened to the most common complaints from real, long time 3D printing nerds, and cost averaged the best way to resolve a design that's both great and inexpensive to build. Does that affect the quality of the end product? Not where it matters in my experience (to date). Is there room for improvement that could make it a higher build quality and functionally smarter? Yes. However, by comparison to my other x4 3D printers of similar or more cost, this one delivers 'more' overall in both performance and quality for both the end prints and the level of control due to Orca Slicer. Do I wish they bundled the lid/heat capture chamber — of course. But an IKEA bin works too. Do I wish the plastic panels on the sides were slightly thicker and stiffer. Yup. But none of those things have had an impact on the overall experience, output quality and configurability when printing. The colour changing is mint, the overall speed is fantastic and the ability to tune prints and print heads is really well thought out. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. Worth the cost and more by comparison to Bambu and Creality.

no signature on delivery

no signature on delivery , trouble with the printer day one ... filament feeder are bad , XY instability and knocking of the Z axis ....

Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-30

Hi Dawson, We’re very sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you’ve had with your U1 printer since day one. We completely understand how disappointing it is to encounter multiple issues right after unboxing. After reviewing your case: 1. The XY instability and the Z-axis knocking are likely caused by misalignment or belt tension issues. We recommend performing the homing calibration and carefully adjusting the XY timing belts. Loosening or tightening the screws in small increments can help find the optimal setting. 2. The issues with the filament feeders indicate that some modules may be faulty. We have already arranged for two replacement filament feeders to be shipped to your address. We understand that these problems have made your printer difficult to use. If, after receiving the replacement feeders and performing calibration, you still experience persistent problems, we are committed to helping you get a fully functional unit. Thank you for your patience and detailed feedback—it helps us improve both our products and support process. Warm Regards, Snapmaker

Hi Jeff, Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re really sorry to hear about the issues you encountered and the frustration caused. We checked our records and saw that we received your support ticket on the evening of March 10th. Due to the time zone difference, our technical support team replied on the morning of March 11th, but we haven’t received a follow-up from you since then. Could you please help check whether you received our email, or if the issue has already been resolved? Regarding the extruder clog during first use, this may be related to the factory testing process. Each machine undergoes printing and burn-in tests before shipping, and in some cases, a small amount of filament can retract into the throat tube or heat break area, which may cause a clog at the beginning. In most situations, a simple cleaning can resolve this. We recommend following this guide to clean and unclog the hotend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJn6HxTDo_w If the clog cannot be cleared and you have already used the spare hotend included with the machine, please let us know. If the issue was caused by the factory testing process and resulted in the use of your spare hotend, we will apply to send you a replacement spare hotend as compensation. We sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience and for any delay you experienced. Your feedback is very important to us, and we’re here to make sure your printer works as expected. Please feel free to reply to us directly—we’ll prioritize your case and assist you step by step. Warm Regards, Snapmaker

Tool head pcb board

Hello, I just received my printer and while assembling it I made the mistake of putting the longer screws that hold the cable to the tool head in and wrecked all four tool head pcb capacitors. I know it’s was my fault but wish you would redesign this so that all the screws are the same length. I reached out to support and they won’t help me said I improperly misused the printer. Disappointed in support’s response as on the facebook forums this issue happens a lot and support helps out by shipping the new parts free.

Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-30

Hi Matt, Thank you for your message, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration caused during assembly. We completely understand how easy it can be to mix up screws during this step, especially given that the instructions may not have been clear enough. As mentioned in our previous correspondence, we recognize that this is a common issue, and we have already approved the replacement of all four toolhead PCB boards for your printer. We also appreciate your feedback about the screw design. We will forward this to our engineering team as a suggestion for future improvements to help prevent this kind of mistake. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we hope the replacements will allow you to resume printing smoothly. Please keep us updated once you receive the parts and let us know if you need any further assistance. Warm Regards, Snapmaker
