Easily 4.5 reason is why does the printer automatically pull the firmware update before starting the set up? Too easy I suppose had issues with the first step of calibration. Come to find out you need to press the upper left screen where there isn't a button to press. This brings you to the settings menu where you can update the machine. After update the printer works flawless test print is amazing.

Slightly misleading about waste but so far has printed great
Seems to print great so far but the advertisement leads you to believe there’s little to no (poop) aka waste. Which in the pool try is correct. But it doesn’t mention the need for a purge tower which is basically waste because it’s just a block of colored material. I feel like this should be advertised to people are not mislead.
Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-10
Hi Frank,
Thank you for your feedback! We understand the concern. The Snapmaker U1 uses a toolchanger system where each filament has its own dedicated printhead, so there’s no need to flush old material—eliminating traditional purge waste.
That said, the U1 does generate a small amount of material in what we call the prime tower. This tower clears tiny amounts of filament that may have degraded while sitting in a heated nozzle during standby. It helps ensure clean starts when switching heads and maintains consistent extrusion, preventing oozing or layer bonding issues.
So while some waste exists, it’s significantly less than traditional multi-material systems, which require both purging and priming. We appreciate your input and will consider clarifying this in our product descriptions to avoid any misunderstandings.

Great product that works well, but compared directly to my Bambulab X1C, there’s a noticeable gap in quality—the first layers are less precise, it’s much louder, and it lacks a top enclosure. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t buy it. That said, considering the price and what you get, it’s an amazing deal. However, the out-of-box experience could be better, as I didn’t expect to make so many manual adjustments due to poor print quality. Also, unless I missed it, there was no mention of the slicer in the installation instructions at the end.

By now it is 4* although it is only 2 days I am using the machine. From engineering stand point the Snapmaker U1 is just a jewel, perfectly assamble, high quality in the parts and of course, the winner when printing multicolor and/or multimaterial.
The weakest point is the Snapmaker Orca, the slicer. This software is not ready and use to shut down, get blocked and have many issues to communicate with the Snapmaker U1. There is not alternative to send files by wireless since Orca Slicer and others cannot do it.
Once Snapmaker Orce is ready and working, I will add the 5th star.

The description of the product I purchase and what I received were not the same. The description read:
"Dual-sided PEI Steel Sheet with Soft Magnetic
Sticker Kit for Snapmaker Artisan
Dual Textured and Smooth PEI Sheet".
What expected to get was a magnetic sticker kit and a steel PEI Sheet. What I received is just the PEI sheet. Your English web site is very difficult to use, you can never be sure what you are ordering.
Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-10
Hi Bruce,
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry for the confusion. The product listing “Dual-sided PEI Steel Sheet with Soft Magnetic Sticker Kit for Snapmaker Artisan” actually offers four options, and you selected the “Dual Textured and Smooth PEI Sheet” option. That’s why your order included only the PEI sheet.
We understand that our website and product descriptions can be confusing, and we’re working to make them clearer so it’s easier to know exactly what is included with each option. If you’d like to get the magnetic sticker kit or need further assistance, please contact our customer service team at [email protected], and we’ll be happy to help.

Out of box failure of one of the 2,3,4 hotend modules and meeting resistance from support to replace it. Everything else if working fine. Only had 2 days and the one module never worked and attempts to fix it fail.

Hi Jack,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience.
We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter an issue with a hotend module right out of the box, especially when you’ve only had the machine for a couple of days. That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have.
To make sure this is properly reviewed and resolved for you, please submit a support request through the following link if you haven’t already:

Love the quick color change. Don't like the filament roll holders and the motors are loud. The bumping on the first layer from z hop is annoying but over all pretty decent for multi color prints.
Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-06
Hi Ymerej,
Thank you for your honest and detailed feedback!
We’re glad to hear that you love the quick color changes and that the printer is performing well for multi-color prints. That’s an area we’ve worked hard to improve, so it’s great to know you’re seeing the benefits.
We also appreciate you sharing your thoughts about the filament roll holders, motor noise, and the Z-hop behavior on the first layer. Feedback like this is very valuable to us and helps our team continue improving both the hardware and firmware experience.
Thank you again for your support. If you ever have questions, suggestions, or need assistance with settings that might help optimize your prints, feel free to reach out anytime. Happy printing!

Unacceptable 3-month delay and misleading practices on Kickstarter
I purchased the Snapmaker U1 through their Kickstarter campaign (Backer #18225) on September 10th, 2025. The "Special Offer" explicitly promised a December 2025 delivery.
In a move that shows a complete lack of corporate integrity, Snapmaker waited until the very last day of the campaign (September 30th) to publish Update #4498333, admitting a 3-month delay. They strategically timed this announcement to coincide with the collection of funds, preventing backers from canceling through the platform.
Today is March 3rd, 2026, and I still have no product and no tracking number. This means an accumulated delay of over 3 months from the original promised date. They have failed to meet even their own revised schedule. To make matters worse, they are attempting to withhold an 8% penalty fee for a refund caused entirely by their own planning failures and misleading advertising.
It appears they prioritized sales volume over their actual production capacity and are now forcing customers to pay for their mistakes. Using Kickstarter as a shield for lack of transparency is unacceptable. Avoid this company.
Reply from Snapmaker2026-03-04
Hi Quico Rubio,
We completely understand your frustration, and we sincerely apologize for the experience you’ve had.
First, we would like to clarify that Snapmaker has never intentionally concealed any shipping information. As of now, all Kickstarter U1 orders have been shipped except for backers who have not completed the survey.
Regarding your case, we previously received your refund request. However, the refund has not been processed because the refund handling fee was not confirmed. Our customer service team has been waiting for your confirmation on this matter before proceeding. We have now replied to your email again — could you please kindly check your inbox (and spam folder just in case) and confirm so we can move forward immediately?
There was no intention to mislead backers. We remain committed to resolving your case properly — whether that is shipment confirmation or completing your refund as soon as we receive your confirmation.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and look forward to your reply so we can resolve this for you without further delay.
Warm Regards,

Snapmaker u1 is an awesome Machine and worth every Penny. The snapmaker polydryer is very Bad tho they didnt thought about how to combine it with u1 even tho its Sold in a bundle. Buy u1 but dont buy the polydryer when you combine it with snapmaker use chitudryer defenetly the better Option chitudryer works awesome with u1. Selling the silicone Adapters for the PTFE Tubes as a spare part would also be enough so people can modify their snapdryer so It works with sidemountet spools.

(28.02.2026 - few days with the printer) So far it's a good product, fun to use and it gives lot of options to multicolor printing.
It's not perfect, but those are minor thing.
Thing I would like to improve are:
Better inside Camera, so far wasn't able to get it working in Orca slicer with Fluids.
Printing bed could be bigger, at least 300x300, that would give way more options with big prints.
Overall build quality, plastic panels doesn't give that "quality" feeling. It looks nice but just some panels feel too soft.
Improved software of the printer.
Adding WI Fi doesn't have simple feature that lets u type in custom WI Fi SSID, specially when WI Fi is hidden.

Good Product, really bad customer service experience...
Ordered a Snapmaker 2.0 Dual Extrusion 3D Printing Module online from Amazon for a great price. advertised as new , not used, not refurbish, not second hand anywhere on the advert. Got the ordered, box previously opened, box said 2.0 Dual Extrusion 3D Printing Module, when opened, Single head! What?
Made a complaint email, Jasmine Xie returns with, pictures of my order with big red arrow pointing to some # on my order like that means anything and stating we could give you 10% off a new one! LMAO, absolutely not fulfill the order at the price that was sold for! waiting for next email, we will see, this may be the end of me and Snapmaker

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your honest feedback. I sincerely apologize again for the frustration and confusion caused by this experience. We completely understand how disappointing it must have been to receive a product that did not match your expectations, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain the situation so clearly.
I’d like to clarify a few points:
On the Amazon product page, the condition of the item is shown under the “See All Buying Options” button, and your Amazon order details page indicated the product condition. We understand that this may not have been obvious, and we apologize for any misunderstanding.
Since the order was fulfilled by the Amazon warehouse, we have been actively communicating with them regarding this issue.
To make this right, we have provided an appropriate solution to ensure you receive the product you originally expected. Please check your email for details on the next steps.
We truly value your patience and feedback, and our goal is to restore your trust in Snapmaker.

It is a Great Machne. But your website lacks much detail on how to find 3D printing tutorials for the Snappymaker U1 beginner, especially in 3D multi-color and multi-material designs. It is terrible that there is more instruction avaiable for the Bambu printer.
Reply from Snapmaker2026-02-15
Hi David,
Thank you for your honest feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you think the Snapmaker U1 is a great machine.
We also appreciate your input regarding tutorials and beginner resources. We understand that multi-color and multi-material 3D printing can be challenging without clear guidance. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll work on improving our website content and adding more detailed tutorials for the U1, so users like you can get the most out of their printer.
