I traveled from Atlanta to Cleveland to celebrate my husband’s birthday and booked a spa package at Southe Massages & Wellness. We arrived early, but our massages started late. I paid for a deep tissue massage. During the first 10 minutes, I barely felt any pressure and assumed the therapist was still applying oil and lotion. After a few minutes, I asked for deeper pressure because I couldn’t feel the massage. I was then told my therapist was a cosmetologist and could not perform a deep tissue massage. I stopped the service because I expected a qualified massage therapist. Despite not receiving the service I paid for, the spa manager refused to refund me due to my review, and I still ended up paying $150 for a one-hour massage I did not receive. I found this place on Groupon. When you call, they may offer you the Groupon price if you pay directly, but my advice is to book through Groupon instead, since Groupon can help protect your payment and offer a refund if you are not satisfied.

Unqualified unlicensed massage therapist

I am a nurse from Atlanta, came to Cleveland to celebrate my husband birthday. I booked a spa package with the Southe massages and wellness. We arrived 30 minutes before our appointment as we been told at 3:30pm. The massage started at 4:10pm. The first 10 minutes I did not feel that I am doing massage and I told my self that my massage therapist applying oil and lotion. After few minutes I asked her to go deep I don’t feel anything and I paid for deep tissue massage. The other massues that was doing my husband told me the my massage therapist is cosmetologist she can’t do deep tissue massage. At that point, I was shocked, first, I have health issues that require only professional to give a massage. At that point I hade not choice to ask her to stop what she was doing. I was very disappointed, I really was looking for a special relaxing day for me and my husband specially it is his first birthday together. I let my husband finished his massage that was for 50mins even we paid for 1hour and I didn’t feel comfortable staying there and enjoyed what I paid for. I was charged $370 for one hour massage and 30 mins between steam room and hot tub. At the front disk I was told that no one is available to speak with and the owner will contact me. It s been 3 day now and I am still waiting for a call. If you are looking for the luxury this place is nice from inside, but if you are looking for massage, I don’t recommend.
