Terminix takes advantage

After many, many years and thousands of dollars spent, Terminix has been very dishonest and tried to get $1,400 from us! That's ✅️ right! The pest guy came to the property and stated that a UTILITY ROOM off the garage that is almost 70 years old, showed signs of mice and some termite activity. First, let me be clear that lots of sawdust and spills of cleaning products etc. have happened over the years. Im sure there is a rotting baseboard at this point. However, the two photos that he sent show NO sign of termites. Instead, they show exactly what I stated and some dirt, sawdust! There have been many projects over the years involving sawdust and greasy tools! Terminix wanted $1,400 to provide "treatment" for so-called evidence 🙄 and a new bond. Any other company will do it for half of that amount. Note, the main structures like the garage and house are perfect! They are not infested with any insects and yet are attached to this utility room that Terminix claims to have an issue with termite activity! Liars! I called their so-called customer service and got the run around and a lame excuse for escalation of paperwork that needed to go to my local branch. I will NEVER allow a company to rip me or my family off and Terminix is now on the list of companies to Not do any business with as they take advantage of long term customers. This has ended badly for them and I will tell the story and show the photos that they took to everyone I know.

Their technician sprayed me in the face…

Their technician sprayed me in the face with chemicals, had to get an attorney, very sad that they make you go to the lengths you do but hopefully no one else has had this happen to them, I’m very patient but people should know this happens

Their termite service is terrible!

I have been a customer of Terminix for over 5 years for termite and regular pest service. The pest service is ok but the termite service is terrible, especially the last year or so.i have been told at least 4-5 different dates for them to do their annual inspection and refill of the bait traps. They have never shown up and more important they never notified me that they weren’t coming. I have called to see what is the problem and it is clearly their whole organization. I can’t wait to see when and if they will ever show up. They are without a doubt the worst company I have dealt with in years. I would stay away from them!

Carl Cole

Carl Cole is the most polite, kind exterminator I’ve ever worked with. His work ethic is top notch! I highly recommend Carl and Terminix.

Can't get an appointment

Had to contact them multiple times to get an appointment just for them to make the appointment for the same street name as my address, but in a different province. Just brutally incompetent.

Terminix Stole my license

Terminix used my license without my permission for over 3 years. Pest,Termite and Mosquito license From the town of Flintstone Maryland all the way to the WV border. This includes Cumberland, Frostburg,Deep Creek etc. These Techs and Termite inspectors working in western Maryland were not trained and not supervised by a licensed professional. When they were notified of this by the Department of Ag Tyler Taflan the Morgantown Manager asked if they could keep using my license until they could Test and Certify with the State . I told them They NEVER had my permission and that they had fraudulently forged my signature on an application 3 years earlier and that they could not use my license. If you had an any work done by Terminix from March of 2023 to March of 2026 from the western state line in Maryland to Flintstone Maryland this work was done by a unlicensed person and you deserve a full reimbursement . You should also have a Certified professional review your work orders to check for improper chemical use. If you had a Wood Destroying Insect Report done for a RealEstate transaction you need to make sure that the individual that completed it was State Certified and not just a “Registered Employee” for which a company files with the Department of Ag on Day one of a employee as soon as there hired. This happened to me while I worked there on the other side of the state 6 hours away, without my permission and I filed a complaint with the Department of Ag and the EPA While I worked there. I worked for this company for over 13 years and I can tell you the company does not care about properly supervising its employees with chemicals in and around your home. It is totally different than when I started. The competency of managers has steadily gone downhill. In fact Tyler told me in March when he asked if they could use my license 6 hours away from where I work that he had been with the company for 4 years and wasn’t certified. And that’s a Branch Manager. I looked you up online Tyler and didn’t see you. Better study harder. My Branch Manager in Salisbury Maryland would tell techs that it’s ok to spray for Mosquitoes in the RAIN. And that with Termite bait stations you only have to check every other one. Both Major Label Violations. Do you really think this company cares about customer safety? Please support businesses that are Ethical and do not engage in Identity Theft and Fraud.

Will take your money and not provide requested service

Called terminix telling them we have birds in our vents. Their inspector insisted we had mice in our attic. Spent $8000 to change insulation and put traps. Continued to hear birds in our vents. They came and removed all but one bird putting a cage over the vent and trapping it inside. Bird is now dead and our bathroom smells and mites have fallen on our daughter through the vent. They said there is nothing more they can do and left. Called and spoke to a supervisor and still have yet to get someone to come out. It has been almost two weeks

The Stations Are Yours—The Bait Is Not: Thousands of Dollars Later, You're Left With Empty Stations

We purchased Terminix termite bait stations and renewed the service for several years. Between the initial installation and ongoing renewals, we spent thousands of dollars—not just hundreds. The bait station system alone cost over $1,000, and the annual service price increased year after year. During annual inspections, we were consistently told there was no termite activity. The stations remained in the ground for years with the original bait still inside. When we decided not to renew our contract, we were shocked to discover that Terminix removes the bait from the stations upon cancellation, leaving the stations empty and essentially useless. We specifically asked multiple times when we signed up whether the stations would belong to us. Technically, they do—but what remains after cancellation is an empty plastic station with no active bait. We were never given the impression that the bait would be removed, making the system ineffective unless we continued paying for service. I do want to recognize the field technicians who serviced our property over the years. They were always polite, professional, and pleasant to work with. I would also like to thank Melody from customer service, who was courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience with Abigail in customer service completely changed my overall impression of the company. Because of that interaction, what would have been a 3-star review became a 1-star review. After spending thousands of dollars over the years, I expected better communication, better transparency, and better treatment of long-term customers. If you are considering signing up for Terminix termite bait stations, keep this in mind: the stations may be yours, but the bait is not. If you cancel your contract, the bait is removed and you are left with empty stations that no longer provide termite protection. I wish this had been made much clearer from the beginning.

Poor communication- bad service-unprofessional

The past two appointments (two out of three I scheduled) entailed technicians showing up after, or at the very end of the appointment window and not enough time was allowed for a complete home terminite inspection originally requested in Dec 2025. Last try was on 5/22/26 and the service tech called and said he was late and I had a prior commitment so we have rescheduled again. In sum, the services I am paying for and the full inspection I want, has not been delivered in six months despite my monthly bill. No effective escalation path to customer service leadership exists. From the start, communication was inconsistent and misleading when I signed up for an ongoing contract for termite bait trap and home protection. When I called the national number (1-855-485-6300) on 12/2, I requested a quote for bait trap installation, ongoing service, and wood damage protection. I was told the annual cost would be around $1,500 and that inspections could be scheduled “whenever you want.” However, I was never provided a copy of the contract or clear terms before the visit. The wood damage protection plan was requested and the team at the 855 number advised that cost is extra and would be quoted after the visit. After multiple requests and 6 months since signing the contract, no quote has been provided yet for limited wood damage protection. During the initial service, the technician installed the traps but conducted what I can only describe as an incomplete and unprofessional inspection. Large portions of the property—including about half of the cellar and the entire attic—were not inspected. Despite this, the report indicated no termite damage. The technician asked me to sign his tablet, presenting it as confirmation of the visit and installation, without making it clear that I was agreeing to a full annual contract at approximately $130 per month. It took me several phone calls and emails to obtain a copy of the signed contract which is very alarming. Since then, the service has continued to fall short. Terminix has been over an hour late to two of the last three scheduled visits. Coordination between the local office and the national customer service line appears very poor, leading to confusion and lack of accountability. Additionally, the local branch manager in Owings Mills as of last Dec, who was apparently promoted to a new role, was rude and condescending in both phone and email interactions. When I raised concerns, the responses lacked professionalism and did not address the issues in a constructive way including stating "I highly advise reading anything prior to signing it. We would not send you anything other than the agreement that was signed or prior to being signed." Yet I was not sent the agreement in advance and was misled when signing. After this, I formally reported these problems and was told a customer service manager would follow up within a few days. It has now been four business days without any response. Overall, the combination of unclear contract terms, poor communication, unprofessional inspection practices, repeated tardiness, and dismissive customer service has made this a very disappointing experience. I would strongly encourage better transparency, accountability, and professionalism in both the sales and service process. My next step, BBB complain, law suit or mediation to force contracted services, or full refund.

DO NOT choose this company!

DO NOT choose this company!! My husband and I were in the process of selling our house and we called one of their specialists to come and evaluate our property. They told us that if we sold we would not be subject to fulfilling their contract. We paid $171.00 a month and the service was lousy! For 9 months we continued to fulfill the contract and when we sold our property they told us we had to finish paying out the contract. Not only did we receive poor service but they also lied about the contract. DO NOT use them. You can receive better results with your local pest control. Lesson learned!! Shame on this company. Dissatisfied Oklahoma customers.

Buyer beware worst company ever!

Buyer beware worst company ever! We thought we were signing a contract for one time service on a house we were selling. Instead, it turned out to be monthly fee for a yearly service contract. The technician misled us, and I have been not able to resolve this issue with the company. We have canceled the contract and still have to pay the monthly service for one year. They continue to bill us a monthly service fee for services they do not do. Isn’t this a truly breaking the law. This was truly deceitful. I have not been able to talk to management. They have been truly unethical business.

Review for Mr. Dezmond Carr

I am an Elder at the Church of Christ at East Side. On Monday, May 18, 2026, it was called to our attention that we had ants in some of our rooms in our Education Learning Center. I scheduled an appointment with Terminix. The next day, May 19th, the technician, Dezmond Carr arrive to address the issue. He serviced the entire Learning center and addressed not only the ant issues, but spider issues as well. He left an ant trap to make sure any lingering ants were killed. Mr. Carr was prompt, professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable of what needed to happen. He treated both inside and outside of the building. He also took time to explain how the ant trap works and suggested the teachers be watchful for students so they would not tamper with them. It was a very timely visit, and I deeply appreciate Dezmond's excellent demeanor and the professional way in which he handled the service call. Russell Clemons 512.750.4098 (cell)

I worked for Terminix in Houston for 3…

I worked for Terminix in Houston for 3 years before they wrongfully terminated me. In Houston it is run by a bunch of unethical buddies. They hire their friends. I was quoting a very large company in Houston one time and the total price was $1600. The branch manager came over and asked who I was quoting? I told him and he said F them Brian. Charge them $5000. They have the money. That's the type of people who work there. I spent half my days on billing issues and service issue. Technicians not showing up or calling. 6 managers in 3 years. That should tell you something. Don't waste your time with these Guys. Save yourself time and money. Look elsewhere.

Just a scam

Signed up for 5 days of service for &1000.00 for squirrel removal. Promised 5 days and 5 traps for my 5 holes. First day I received 3 traps and Alexis told me 5 is overkill. In one hour 2 squirrels in trap and she replaced them. Day 3 I only had 2 traps. Manager Brian came out and put down many more on Thursday. Friday morning all trap’s removed. I paid for 5 days not 4. Saturday I went outside to and discovered a forgotten trap with a squirrel. Called and was told Monday. Squirrel could be dead by than. Stay away from this company!!!!!

Terminix Customer Service

I have been in contact with Terminix for over a month now trying to resolve my account and billing. Each time I receive the same message "I have escalated your concern and someone from the local branch will respond to you within 24-48 business hours." I have yet to receive a response. When I ask for the local branch office's contact information I'm told they are not allowed to disclose that information. Meanwhile, they have decided to send me to collections for not paying my bill. The only positive I can express is that the representatives also express their apologies for my frustration and are polite. Otherwise, the overall customer service even from the supervisor level is absolutely inefficient.

I do not recommend Terminix. Call another company!!

I do not recommend Terminix or working with account manager Jake McGee based on my recent experience. I paid over $1,800 for wildlife exclusion and repair work, and the results have been extremely disappointing. The scope of work that was discussed and implied was far more comprehensive than what was actually delivered. The only work completed was sealing a few exterior holes and installing two flashing panels on my chimney (instead of all four corners as expected). The chimney itself was never properly inspected, the chimney liner was not evaluated, and the chimney cap was not replaced—despite this being a key concern discussed upfront. The quality of the work is also unacceptable. The sealing was done very sloppily, with expanding foam visibly smeared across exterior walls, leaving an unprofessional and unsightly appearance—especially concerning as I am preparing my home for sale. Additionally, the technician damaged my attic door during the visit and stated it would be repaired. That repair has still not been completed. Communication and follow-through have been equally frustrating. I have yet to speak with anyone beyond Jake McGee or one of his coworkers, and there has been no meaningful resolution or accountability for the incomplete and poor-quality work. For the amount paid, I expected professional workmanship, proper repairs, and attention to detail. Instead, I received minimal, incomplete, and careless service. I would strongly advise others to consider other companies before moving forward and do not work with Jake McGee.
