I am VERY dissatisfied with this company. The tree size shipped is smaller than the cost of the same tree at a local nursery. Their policies are deceitful and confusing. They offer a $50. Credit which is never able to be used. The Thrive Program costs $9.95 per month ad nauseum which unlike the name, DOES NOT replace your tree if it dies. It is a RIP OFF monthly and they hope you forget about it and FUND THEM forever. My tree died even though it was recommended for this area. If you do fill out a TICKET to replace a dead tree they require a number of photos of different types to prove the tree is dead. RUN, DON’T WALK away from this business so you don’t get Ripped Off.

I received my trees and they are absolutely gorgeous!! One of the branches on our Japanese Maple was broken during packaging or during the shipping process. Otherwise— everything arrived as expected and described TBD as for the longevity of the trees but so far so good.

Timeliness of service was not what I was lead to expect. Two conversations on the phone with Kali - she is not the best representation for your face to the customer. My livelihood is customer advocacy and satisfaction thus am qualified to critique.

They slip in a 10$ monthly subscription with your charge. Thank god I noticed after the first subscription change. AND I tried to cancel the order and they refused, PLUS its a 20% fee if they would allow a cancellation. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. I have not received the plants yet. We will see about that...I dont have high hopes now. Basically $350- probably flushed.

Deceptive & Ridiculous Policies
I ordered 4 trees your I asked about planting in containers your people told me that I would void my warranty by doing that although in the trees description on your cite it stated they were great for container planting so I wanted to cancel my order which was placed within 10 min of me want to cancel & I was going to be charged a 20% fee, because of "costs" to fill the order, then it takes over a week for the trees I ordered to arrive. I will not ever use your company again & told all my friends & family not to also, your people told me it was up to me to check out all of your policies on your planting recommendations, not that you could add a line or two on the plant description of your planting in container policy!
A Great Experience With The Tree Center
We ordered our trees back in early April and picked a delivery time late in May. Any time I called and spoke to someone there they were always very polite. An answered my questions. The trees arrived in a box with holes in it. Protecting it from the UPS ride. The soil in the pots was perfect. They sent some instructions and a packet of stuff to be put in the ground with each tree. They covered the soil with plastic and put zip ties on it. Also used support in the pot for the trees to make sure they stayed upright. I was 100% pleased with start to finish of buying these trees from The Tree Center. I would definitely buy from them again. Thank you for taking such great care to make sure they arrived ready to plant. They are in the ground and ready to start growing and showing their beautiful orange color.
Great packaging; disappointing experience and complete waste of time, water,fertilizer and money
The packaging was great. The Japanese Maple looked very promising from Spring thru Fall. The plant appeared to come to life in the spring, Despite watering,fertilizing and lots of love and attention it slowly died. I called the customer support AFTER i realized the plant was not going to be OK. I am not one to bother companies unless there is a real problem. They completely dismissed my situation. Buyer beware. The customer support person was very dimissive. NEVER AGAIN.

I ordered five trees from Tree Center, and all five arrived packed together in a single box with no soil. The maples had dried leaves and only a few tiny roots that were tangled with the other trees. The dogwood arrived as a dry stick with no visible roots at all. I was told to plant them and water them, I planted them, even though none appeared viable. When I contacted customer service, I learned that they do not provide refunds and instead issue coupon codes for replacements. The problem is that the same trees are often out of stock, so the credits are difficult to use for equivalent replacements. I purchased five trees, but received enough credit to replace only three, and there was also a replacement fee. Between the limited credit, stock availability issues, the cost to water dead trees and additional fees, I did not feel the warranty process adequately addressed the loss of the original order.

The tree arrived well packed and in very good condition. The root ball was well developed and leaves were still plump. The zip tie was a little tight and made a slight blemish on the bark. I had prepared the soil in advance and left a 5 gallon bucket in its place. The tree for perfectly. A little peat moss and tamping down was all that was necessary.

First time ordering from this site
First time ordering from this site. Everything went extremely well, placing the order, receiving the order, in great shape. It got to my house a day early. It’s been planted for about a week now, already seeing new growth.
The past two seasons
The past two seasons, I've made purchases from the tree center shrubs. I bought last year didn't survive the winter and because I didn't buy the insurance they wouldn't help me so this year I bought a couple of new shrubs planted them. One of them is doing beautifully the other one died almost within two weeks. I reached out to them because I did purchase the insurance and all they offered me was a coupon, I would strongly reconsider any purchase of any kind of shrub specially at their high prices through the mail. You're better off going to a local nursery looking at the plant visually and picking out ones you want again buyer beware they do not back up their plants offering me a coupon because of a plant dying and I even sent them a photograph of it. I followed all of their instructions. They offered me a stinking coupon. The plant was $134.00 so that's lost.

The transaction went well, and the shipping time was nice and short. I was a bit disappointed at the size of the tree. I was expecting at least a four-foot tree for the price paid, but what I received was an 18" tree out of a five-gallon container since the plant wasn't tied to the shipping box, the dirt was completely out of the container. Luckly, after replacing the dirt, it seems like the tree is going to make it. Time will tell.
