Many people also appreciate the remarkably seamless vehicle pickup, noting that scheduling a tow truck is fast, simple, and completely stress-free. However, some people mentioned occasional difficulties regarding poor communication and frustrating delays when trying to confirm final paperwork or schedule pickups. What people say

No Charitable Donation documentation

Although vehicle was picked up within a week, it has been 9 months with no documentation of 'charitable donation' for tax purposes. I cannot provide any higher rating of my experience or envision any future donations.

Thank you for your feedback. I wanted to provide some clarification regarding your receipt. The original receipt was emailed to you on March 20, 2024, at 1:49 PM Central Time. Sometimes, these emails can be filtered into spam or junk folders, so it’s possible it was missed. To ensure you have it now, I have just sent a new copy of the receipt to your email. Please check your inbox as well as your spam or junk folder to locate it. Since the vehicle sold for less than $500 (due to its age — nearly 30 years old — and high mileage of almost 250,000 miles), this preliminary receipt is all you need for tax purposes. It allows you to claim the full $500 deduction for your 2024 taxes. No further documentation is required. We strive to provide a positive experience for all donors, and your support is critical to our mission of impacting veterans. Given that you did receive a receipt in a timely manner and now have a fresh copy, we kindly ask if you would consider updating your review. Positive feedback helps sustain our program and expand our ability to support veterans. If you have any further questions or need additional support, I’m happy to assist.

Lack of Pertinent Communication

I have yet to receive a receipt on the Altima I donated. Communication is awful as far as being in the know of what is going on. Trying to find information on this donation is a lot of work. I found the auction location, date of auction but only saw "auction ended" as far as what became of my car. The email was titled as if I had purchased a vehicle which is totally opposite of my involvement with this particular car. I'm left clueless as to the outcome and any information that should automatically be delivered to me. I feel like I made a terrible mistake. Now I still have no proof to provide to the DMV that I no longer own this car.

Dear Scott, Thank you for reaching out. I wanted to inform you that a receipt for your donation was emailed to you on August 20, 2024, at 12:43 PM Central Time. Sometimes, these emails can end up in your junk or spam folder, so I recommend checking there if you haven't seen it. I have also requested that another copy of the receipt be sent to you as soon as possible. Since your vehicle sold for less than $500, the receipt you’ve already received is all that is required for your 2024 taxes. Regarding your concerns about proof for the DMV, this receipt should serve as the documentation needed to confirm the transfer of ownership. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you again for your generous donation, and I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused.

No show, no call for donation pick up

Waited 6 hours for the vehicle pickup window. No show, no call. Unacceptable. Tried calling the numbers provided, was sent to voice mail. Requested a call back. No reply.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I’m so sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. This is definitely not the standard of service we aim to provide. To better assist you, could you please provide more details, such as the name or email it was under and any reference numbers or contact information used? We want to make sure we address this properly and follow up with the team to prevent this from happening again. You can reply here or email me at [email protected]. Thank you for your patience, and we’ll do our best to resolve this promptly. Liza CMO

Tried to donate a vehicle but OMG!

Tried to donate a vehicle, they assigned ARD AUCTION for pickup…this company makes the process complicated, asking for pictures, area, filled up some questionnaire with the same information that I already provided…then telling me that they cannot open the pictures that I need to resend them in a different format…all I wanted to do was to donate the vehicle…she told me if they cannot see they cannot pick up the vehicle…I just told them I find another charity to donate the vehicle.

Thank you for your attempt to donate your vehicle and your understanding. In rare cases, the cost of picking up a vehicle can exceed the amount we can sell it for. As a responsibility to our veterans’ charities, we must ensure we do not operate at a loss. This is why we sometimes need additional information and pictures. I apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope you understand our position. We appreciate your willingness to donate and your support for our cause.

Do not recommend

They sold the donated car for way less than what it’s worth, even though they claim to try to get the highest deduction. I would have been better off selling my car. I feel very cheated and can’t even enjoy a decent tax deduction

Thank you for your feedback and I apologize for any disappointment regarding the sale of your Lexus. Unfortunately, the resale value for older Lexus models tends to be on the lower end. For the year, make, and model of your vehicle, we typically see values which align with the final sale price. We strive to get the highest possible value, and I regret any frustration this has caused. We appreciate your support and understanding.
