AVOID VIAOTA! - Sudden new charge on my card and refusal to refund
I suggest you read this as well as all the other reviews with 1 star only before you give your card to this company! I received the wifi router for Viaota Package Unlimited 6 Months Internet on 7 January 2026. I made very little use of the product and used essentially zero data for the last 3-4 months before the package expiry's date sometimes in mid July 2026. I did not need to renew the package and did not wish to extend the package. However, all of sudden I found suddenly a charge on my bank account of £179.94 on 3rd July 2026 which was auto-renewing the Viaota Package Unlimited for another 6 Months. Viaota used my paypal account to make a new charge auto-renewing the service. The same has happened to most of those who rated 1 star Viaota on trustpilot! On 4 July 2026, I demanded an immediate refund for the full amount for a service I do not need and I did not request nor I made any new order and I was not notified in a reasonable way of before the new charge occurred. Despite several emails sent to the company support service not only I did not get the refund but also I was not reassured that the amount would be refunded. I informed Viaota that this way to act in business is far too aggressive and I did not appreciated the sudden unauthorised charge on my account. There is currently a dispute via Paypal that I will escalate if the matter is not resolved.
I submitted several written cancellations and refund requests immediately since 4 July 2026. I informed the merchant Viaota stating clearly that I never authorized the auto-renewal and request my money back.
I have also never used the merchant’s service since April 2026 to date and so the merchant was fully aware that I used no data at all and has not had any loss. Despite this I received no refund at all and Viaota is continuing to refuse paying the money they charged without my authorisation. I respectfully request that VIAOTA reverse the payment of £179.94, charged via Paypal by Viaota on 3 July 2026, as I believe the merchant processed an automatic renewal without my informed consent and in circumstances that are contrary to UK consumer protection law.
Update 9th August 2026 - Viaota has not yet refunded me despite many emails. To comprehend how this company operates I have been charged a full 179.94 GPB on 6th July 2026 despite I had cancelled on 4 July 2026 . They took my money directly, and they are refusing to disclose on what terms they rely to charge me holding my refund indefinitely. I keep on receivig only a short automated emails after 5 minutes saying that the dispute must be resolved only via Paypal which has already closed the appeal on 27 July 2026. This is completely unacceptable. Viaota must do this very often since every reply is automated. Started pre-action protocol before issuing proceedings to recover the money.
In reply To Viaota Team message below: I wrote so many times but your company is just ignoring and abusing clients. Reply my pre-action correspondence sent today to avoid legal action.
