This has been life changing!!
This has been life changing!!! For 6 straight months I have ONLY eaten the “Superfoods, Enjoy, and some foods on the Minimize list”. I have also cut out sugar and gluten.
I have lost 20 lbs, and eat ALL day long. There is no caloric restriction when you are eating foods that work with your body. I have changed all my “bad” habits and I am full of energy! Thank you Viome!!

Viome AI is Remarkable!…
Viome AI is absolutely one of the most incredible things I have ever experienced!
I didn’t know that it was even in our app and I’m so glad that in the information session, Lisa Shomo told us about it!
I have asked the Viome AI questions that perplexed me and the responses that I got were so perceptive, so helpful, and way beyond what I could have figured out myself.
I ended up in long conversations where I would point out my concerns and the AI would work with them and shift based on what I was describing.
The AI and Viome and I ended up designing a very in depth and compressive protein rotation meal plan for my week, based on my test results, my feedback, and synthesizing it all.
What is also fantastic about the Viome AI is that it remembers all of the previous conversations that I have had with it so it weaves those in to whatever I ask and incorporates that information into our current conversation.
So, I end up having higher levels of conversation with the AI than I have ever had before. I’m in awe of the AI at Viome!
My husband shared with me that the AI on Google doesn’t retain what you talk about it with it.
So we are getting something very special at Viome and I thank Viome for that. Viome has been the biggest help with my lifelong gut challenges that I have ever had. The important insight and information that Viome gives is so accurate, and by following the guidelines,I feel so normal and good, with no symptoms like before.
It is such a good feeling to know that when I have questions that I am perplexed about, I am going to get insightful, helpful ideas and that if I’m not quite comfortable with anything, the AI and I work together until it all makes good sense and feels doable.
So when you use their AI,feel free to say your particular individual situation so that the AI can work with it.
The AI is also extremely kind, respectful and encouraging in a very sincere way and gives you great insight into yourself and how to navigate your new food plan.

This company is all about selling supplements
This company is all about selling supplements. They are not approved by the FDA and administer these kits so you can submit a stool sample and they analyze it. The reports are difficult to understand and good luck getting in touch with a live person to answer your questions. All they do is try to sell you supplements that are supposed to help your gut.
Don’t waste your time or money.

My First Test Results
My test results and food recommendations were quite surprising, especially my “superfoods” and “avoid foods”. I’ve been dealing with rosacea for 8+ years, so I’m hopeful it will diminish once I’ve followed Viome’s personalized food recommendations and taken my personalized supplements.

Disappointing
Disappointing: High-level generic scores that hide real data and miss basic biological mechanisms
I bought a Viome Gut Intelligence test hoping for actionable, personalized health insights, but the entire platform feels like a black-box marketing tool rather than a legitimate clinical assessment.
1. "High Ammonia" score ignores basic biology
My results flagged a "High Ammonia" production score, which sounds concerning until you look closer at how their algorithm works. Viome isolates gene activity that produces ammonia, but completely ignores whether your gut has strong, active beneficial bacteria (like Lactobacillus plantarum and Bifidobacterium) working to acidify the gut and neutralize/clear that ammonia. In a real human body, net clearance matters. By only measuring "gas pedal" production pathways and ignoring the "brakes," the test creates an alarming score that doesn't reflect actual metabolic balance.
2. Generic, copy-paste diet recommendations
Because the algorithm triggers on these isolated pathway flags, it defaults to telling almost everyone to cut out red meat, eliminate animal protein, and eat a plant-heavy, soy/legume-rich diet. You pay hundreds of dollars for what ends up feeling like a generic, copy-pasted vegetarian meal plan you could find anywhere for free.
3. Zero raw data transparency
When you reach out to customer support to see the actual bacterial abundances or request a raw data export (CSV/PDF) so your doctor can evaluate specific strains, they refuse. They hide behind proprietary "functional scores" and refuse to provide exact strain counts or percentages, making the data practically useless for actual clinical care or working with a gastroenterologist.
4. Claims "Hormone Support" but tests ZERO hormone-modulating enzymes
Viome heavily markets its ability to support "hormone health" and gut-hormone balance. Yet, when you look at what they actually sequence, they test for none of the established gut enzymes directly involved in hormone metabolism (such as beta-glucuronidase, which is critical for estrogen recycling and detoxification via the estrobolome). Promising hormone insights without measuring the key enzymatic drivers of hormone clearance in the gut is deceptive.
If you are dealing with actual health symptoms or need precise data for a practitioner, save your money. Get a clinical-grade stool test ordered by a doctor that actually quantifies bacteria, provides raw data, and measures real enzymatic markers instead of hiding behind opaque algorithms.
