Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Consumers often find the staff helpful, with many finding the process straightforward and the templates inspiring, making their entire event coordination much easier. Reviewers appreciate that the platform is easy to use in terms of navigation and offers numerous customization options to make the website visually appealing.
However, some customers noted potential issues where the website felt clunky or slow at times, and the layout could seem overwhelming or unintuitive for a few people. A small portion of people were dissatisfied with specifics like RSVP tracking not being ideal or errors appearing, such as landing pages sometimes not displaying uploaded photos correctly. Furthermore, caution is advised regarding booking accommodations, as some consumers reported booking issues where intended reservations were not honored.

I booked a room through Joy, and unfortunately the entire experience was extremely frustrating and poorly handled.
After making the reservation, it took several days before Marriott even received it in their system. Once Marriott finally had the reservation, I contacted them to request a handicapped-accessible room for my wife, who requires wheelchair accessibility. Marriott advised me that an accessible room was not available.
I immediately went back to Joy and asked for assistance. I was repeatedly told they would reach out and work on the issue, but there was plenty of talk and virtually no meaningful follow-through. I was left with the impression that they were trying to resolve the problem, yet nothing was actually accomplished and no clear answer was provided.
Because my wife required appropriate accommodations and I could not continue waiting indefinitely, I had no choice but to make other arrangements on my own.
Approximately three weeks later, after receiving no meaningful resolution, I had to contact Joy myself regarding my refund. I was then informed that the refund had been denied. Conveniently, this only came after I followed up.
The most troubling part is that much of this situation could have been avoided if the original reservation had been transmitted to Marriott promptly. Had Marriott received it when I initially booked, there would have been substantially more time to address the accessibility issue, locate an appropriate room, or make alternative arrangements.
Instead, I experienced delays, poor communication, promises of assistance without action, and ultimately a refusal to refund me for accommodations that could not meet my wife's accessibility needs.
I have kept the correspondence and timeline documenting what occurred and am now considering pursuing the matter through small claims court if it cannot be resolved fairly.
Based on my experience, I would be extremely cautious about booking through Joy, particularly if you have accessibility requirements or need dependable customer service when something goes wrong.
I highly recommend not booking travel through the With Joy Conceirge. There are not humans on the other side of the booking, and so if you require assistance or amendment, you will be caught off guard. We made a booking, but had subsequent changes to our airline. We wanted to retain the travel booking, but move the date forward by one night. So no refund, no cancellation, no reduction in length of stay. The Conceirge team kept assuring me they were negotiating with the hotel, only to continually say:
“Unfortunately, the hotel was unable to approve your request for the booked reservation. I understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and please know that we made every effort to negotiate on your behalf.”
After several of the same script was repeated to me, I have highly suspected there is no human on the other side of this platform, but trained AI bots. The agents were unwilling to give alternative responses.
I took the liberty of contacting the hotel myself, to explain the situation and request consideration. Especially as our dates were changing to weeknights, not weekend, we expected this would be no issue and it was several months in advance. We could see online if we booked today there was still availability for the dates. We are talking about a one day difference in the original booking, that is what we were requesting. The hotel was able to provide me with written confirmation that they would be willing to process the amendment - but that they couldn’t manually do so, that it had to be done through the third party platform.
Unfortunately, due to With Joy Travel Conceirge, I have spent over a week going around in circles, unable to seek resolution for a very simple amendment.
I would highly recommend not booking travel through this platform. Avoid at all costs. The discount is not worth it. There is zero customer service. And they have been clearly lying that they were seeking to resolve our request with the hotel. I am yet to seek resolution on this and it was been nearly two weeks. If I could give lower star rating I would.
If the team resolve this, I will amend my rating, but will still issue caution ⚠️
Botched hotel room booking and refuse to refund the money to me.…
I booked a hotel room through the link on a wedding invitation. A product of Joy.
They took my money.
When we arrived at the hotel for the wedding, we were told that there was no reservation for us. We had to then quickly pay for a room at much greater cost. This was very stressful.
When I sent a request to Joy for a refund of my money for the botched reservation they were very cunning, stringing me along for months with platitudes of "wanting to help". Later, the hotel told me that Joy had made the reservation in the wrong name and that they, the hotel, had refunded my money to Joy.
So Joy continued to refuse my refund even though I was told via their email that the money had been refunded.
That is fraud.
Take my money in a hurry.
Botch the booking.'
Refuse my refund!!

It took me a while to get used to it however, from an end user standpoint they say I did a good job. I had my niece go in and check it out after I set everything up. I am 62 years old and not very computer literate.
It wasn't easy to populate the forms - sometimes I would lose the formatting and it was VERY difficult to figure out how to get it back. All the sneaky ways that I was getting charged for things was VERY off-putting. I would have preferred UPFRONT information about fees before I wasted so much time. Charging to text message guests is gross. Paying for simple invites that I sent digitally - stupid. I will never recommend this site to anyone. There are much better options.

BEWARE
If I could put ZERO stars I would! This company has no consideration for clients.
I am extremely frustrated with how Joy has handled my hotel reservation and refund request.
I paid $863.24 through Joy for a stay at Whitetail Court Hotel scheduled for September 4–6, 2026. I contacted both Joy and the hotel in advance because I will not be using the reservation and was trying to resolve the matter before the stay.
Whitetail Court Hotel told me in writing that Joy retains my payment and credit card information and that the hotel does not receive the funds until a few days after the reservation date.
Joy then told me in writing that Joy is the merchant of record and processes my payment, but also said that the hotel has final authority over whether a refund can be granted and that Joy cannot refund me without the hotel’s agreement.
This has left me caught between two companies giving me different explanations about who controls my money and who can resolve the refund.
I understand that the reservation was originally listed as non-refundable. My complaint is about the way my efforts to resolve the situation have been handled and the conflicting information I have received about the payment and refund process.
My stay has not even occurred yet. I would like Joy to take responsibility as the merchant of record, work with the hotel and its travel partner, and provide a clear resolution rather than continuing to send me back and forth.
I am still willing to resolve this directly with Joy and will update this review if they provide a satisfactory resolution.
With Joy has lots of great features and is overall easy to use. One thing I wish it allowed was to keep registries from Amazon and popular linked partners as separate, external registries. Beyond that, my fiance and I have found the site super helpful and more customizable than the Knot, which we tried out first. Not to mention its 100% free!
A fantastic, seamless experience!
The website is super intuitive, sleek, and easy to navigate. Everything runs smoothly from start to finish, making the whole process quick and hassle-free. Highly recommended!
I used WithJoy to make a hotel reservation for my nephew’s wedding. The hotel they recommended went out of business with my deposit. They offered a refund or to find me a new reservation. I chose a new reservation. I then needed to cancel that reservation (I was within the cancellation window).
They are now ghosting me and refusing to reply to my requests for a refund.
I will be forced to take them to court to obtain a refund.

Cons: I can’t add table numbers, after syncing my contacts and editing it started to glitch. My guests are stressed out trying to rsvp.
Pros: website is well organized

The tools, support, and knowledge are amazing. It's user-friendly at its best. I'm actually using it for two upcoming destination vow renewals. I love it!
My Photos would not upload no matter how I followed the troubleshooting. Finally, a service rep Venkat was able to upload the photos for me from the back end. It only took a few minutes.
I only wish I could rate them negative stars…
First problem: I could only make a single room reservation, not a reservation for multiple rooms at a single hotel. Should’ve taken this first hint, but it was for a much loved nephew’s wedding so I pressed on…
Did I mention I paid the the three rooms up-front? :/
Second problem: I needed to add a name to the three separate reservations I ended up making — I was going to arrive later than the rest of my party and wanted them to be able to check in without. So I called the hotel — Hyatt Place Baltimore Inner Harbor, which…oof, please just don’t even think about staying there, folks — to add a name to all three rooms. On four separate calls I was informed that they received 6(!) reservations from the withjoy[.]com/Priceline ding-dongs (remember I only made three and only received three confirmation emails) and that five(!) of them had been cancelled, leaving me with only one king room reserved (for a party of 6). So I cancel the one reservation and booked three rooms elsewhere.
Third problem: withjoy[.]com only offers email support. Really slow, really ineffective email support. No phone number to call where it’s easier to explain things and where problems can be handled through real-time, synchronous communication. Anyway, my issue got passed about between a total of four people, each who were only capable of assuring me over email I’d get a full refund, but were in reality incapable of helping sort things out with the Hyatt Place Baltimorons of the Inner Harbor.
Fourth Problem: a week goes by, with a few email responses saying they were “looking into it” only for them to say — without offering *any* evidence whatsoever — that the Hyatt Place Baltimorons of the Inner Harbor “front desk” — the same (Balti)morons who informed me that my reservations were cancelled, mind you — said that my “reservations were confirmed on their end.” And also that “They have also confirmed that they were able to accommodate you during your stay.” And finally “Due to this, no refunds were processed.”
So to say they’re the worst wedding booking site ever is not doing it nearly enough justice. Stay away, everyone!
Unless of course you like dealing with incompetent swindlers that prey on people participating in the formation of core family memories. Believe me, my entire family will always remember this wedding, but not necessarily for all the joy. Withjoy[.]com’s superlatively crappy performance will certainly be part of the family lore, too.
Hope all wedding planners read this, take it seriously, and don’t put their wedding guest through the agony of dealing with withjoy[.]com.

Great free website, but a little complicated to use.
I Find joy a great website to use, and I’m particularly impressed that it is free. He can’t be a little hard to navigate at times and I found myself going back backwards and forwards between different parts fairly regularly when trying to create the website. Once you’ve managed to get it figured out though it is a great website. We are nearing the stage of sending our invitation so I am looking forward to seeing the process with others using it.
WithJoy is a great wedding website. It is very intuitive and made organizing our wedding and keeping everything in one place so much easier. Highly recommended!
I’ve had issues with adding registries - they were showing as black boxes and none of the “fixes” worked. I got constant emails from guests who couldn’t figure out the registry bc of the black box. I also have been unable to get the money from our honey moon fund - it is not user friendly at all and we have had to reach out to the Joy team for help. Tbd on if they are able to help.
