I had a really poor experience with Abe’s of Maine and would not recommend buying from them. It felt like they were using bait-and-switch tactics. I ordered a camera body online, but soon after, I received an email asking me to call to “confirm” my order — which defeats the whole point of ordering online. When I called, the representative was hard to understand, mumbled a lot, and immediately began trying to upsell me on other products. It quickly became clear that the item listed online was likely a grey-market (non-warranty) version, even though this was not made obvious on the website. When I said I wanted to cancel, the salesperson suddenly offered to sell me the version I thought I was ordering — but for $100 more. Strangely, I couldn’t even find that “non-import” version listed anywhere on their website, so I have no idea how they supposedly had it “in stock.” The entire experience felt deceptive and manipulative, and the customer service was unhelpful and pushy. ⚠️ Bottom line: If you value transparent pricing, clear communication, and legitimate products, stay away from this site.
