Representative lied to me and sold me 2nd policy

I needed to increase my annual policy value. I called Allianz representative and she sold me new policy with higher limit and told me I can cancel previous policy with pro-rated amount with no problem. When I wrote email to Customer service of Allianz, I was told that I can't cancel the policy because I have an active claim. When I called customer service to upgrade my policy, that claim was already active and still representative didn't mention anything about it and assured me that I will have no issues to cancel previous policy

Successful refund

Allianz came through doing their job with absolutely no problem. I had to cancel my trip the day of due to things out of my control (Canada wildfires) I was refunded for every penny I spent while the hotel was only trying to give me a partial refund.

Comforting

So far we have not had to make a claim. It is quite comforting to have this trip insurance on a permanent basis as we travel frequently. The online process is quite easy. They layout the coverage properly. The annual plan is a great plan. Thanks

Communication is poor. Very little explanation of what was accepted r rejected. Website is poor. I've been surprised.

I was able to receive a medical reimbursement after being denied twice. I was told that I did not have the correct paperwork. After submitting for the second time, and getting my claim to the higher ups, the claim was finally accepted and paid out.

Heart attack= no refund!

My husband had a heart attack prior to our trip and remains on life support and I was only given a $400 cancel fee back instead of the $1250 due. My elderly parents had to also cancel the trip because of my husbands crisis because they could not go without us-the point of the whole trip was to be together. I was appalled to learn from other travelers in similar situations with the same insurance that were given full reimbursement when they had a health crisis before their trip started. And now my elderly parents are out thousands of dollars. Terrible to have Trip insurance that does absolutely nothing when a crisis happens.. I will continue to tell everyone of my terrible experience
