What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complained about unhelpful customer support teams, rude interactions, and unnecessary difficulties when attempting to process warranty claims. Consumers also noted that many items broke down quickly, suffered from poor build quality, or arrived with noticeable functional defects.
The minority of people were satisfied with lightweight designs, quiet operation, or received genuinely helpful assistance from support staff. Some customers even found that specific replacement items arrived successfully, allowing them to easily resolve unexpected appliance issues. Reviewers occasionally appreciated receiving functional replacements or having their service requests handled effectively by staff.

I purchased a Black+Decker air conditioner three months ago, but the remote display stopped working properly within this short period. I’m quite disappointed with the quality.
In contrast, I had previously used a Vstar air conditioner, which worked reliably for over 7 years before showing any issues. That brand proved to be much more durable and dependable.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend buying Black+Decker air conditioners in the future due to poor quality and performance.
Bought a package online leaf blower/string trimmer. Out of the box, the battery would not charge. Contacted customer service/warranty online July 18. Received email response July 21 requesting copy of invoice, model number, etc. I responded within an hour. Followed up email July 22,23 but got no response. July 24 returned product to Home Depot. Will never buy Black and Decker again. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I have bought a steamer with cash-back promotion (Netherlands). After registering, it took them forever to determine if I qualify for cash-back. After confirmation, I was supposed to receive cash-back within 7(!) weeks. It has been 10 weeks now and no cash-back payment despite several emails to customer service. They clearly know how to turn customer-enthusiast into customer-I-will-never-buy-your-product-again.
I purchased a Black and Decker mouse from Homebase but never used it. Went to use it yesterday for the first time. Still in the box etc and it stopped working and received an electric shock and was still using the very first sanding sheet. Called customer services and nothing they can do apart from me purchasing a new one or for me to pay to send back and pay for it to be repaired. A waste of money and not fit for purpose. I was only sanding my banister rail!
They own or control Dewalt. Had a major problem
which is a separate review. Called number just
closed and call back, no hours, zero. Then they had
the audacity to email if they could help and asked for
a review. I emailed back and voiced by concerns.
About as good as calling no responses, no resolving
situation, nothing about complaints about lying reps.
I guess the parent company raised the "kid" just like them.
Worst service possible-lots of talk and no action!!!
Sent them (via UPS) a hand vaccum to be replaced for a defective replacement they sent me. They received it on 04/07/2025 (as shown by UPS tracking). I was told it could take up to 6 weeks for it to be looked at. It is now 06/25/2025 ( almost 12 weeks) . I called and they told me they still have not confirmed they received it. Is their service department that bad that after almost 12 weeks they can't confirm they received it? Called corporate headquaters and they didn't do crap.Just told me to wait. I guess they could take as long as they want and there isn't anything anybody will do about it. I'll never buy Black and Decker again.
Bought a black and decker food mixer and after 3 months the whisk attachment snapped so I asked the company for a replacement which I was happy to pay for despite only having my mixer for just over 3 months, their response was " We are unable to help you as this particular mixed is no longer available"
This company service center is itself a fraud.
They have given their after sales service to SRM Enterprise which is also looks like a fraud one. They commit you to come and do the repairs but intentionally gives you the wrong time and never comes. I have a iron steam press which has not been repaired since last 2 months and even now also the technician is not ready to come they only issued me a tivket no. BND25051500008. 9716686284 & +91 6364 914 202 are the numbers of their service center but no one answers the calls. Will request not to buy amy product from this company. Instead go with bajaj, philips, morphy richards etc atleast they give after sales service on time and resolves the issue in just 3-4 days.
Absolutely terrible experience. The AC unit itself is disappointing, but what’s even worse is the service. I had a gas leakage issue, and the mechanics took 3 whole days just to figure it out—and even then, they didn’t know where the leak was. It's shocking how untrained the technicians are. They were completely clueless and wasted my time with no resolution. For a brand like Black & Decker, this level of service is unacceptable. Stay away if you value your time and sanity.
I'm using B&D for more than 20 years. All different kind of tools. Before electric, now all on battery. All new ones used with the same batteries. Have 6 batteries, 4 tools. But the best tool ever, for me, is the pruning shears. Done with blisters on your hands. And don't have any complaints about the other tools. All are working perfectly.
I'm and American ex-pat in Netherlands and just purchased a Black and Decker circular saw. I must say it is the entirely worst product ever.
1. Im assuming they had a re-cast US measurement to Metric but they didn't go deep enough. Which at the offset one thinks ok. This will work. But yet not enough for the depth of EU metric measurements, so while it was all good using B&D saw blade as soon as I tried to use an EU one it was impossible, the plastic bob/button doesnt work. It slips, it is a cheap piece of plastic. Knowing the EU return policy I will never see a cent back. B&D sucks!
The workmate is an excellent piece of equipment. I have 3.
Unfortunately the workmate had to be assembled.
The parts are not well labelled/handed. ie they might fit together in several different ways. The worst part is the split cylinders that secure the winding handles. Terrible to get the location correct.
1. I would suggest that BD make the parts better labelled. e.g black plastic part 1 locates at hole 1.
2. Why not just charge an extra £5 and deliver the workmate assembled. The manufacturing saving is nice for B+D but a hassle for buyers. The item did cost £90. There must be some room/potential for making a fully finished item? There could be two options A= £95 fully assembled. B=£90 The enthusiast's DIY version.
I bought a Black & Decker blender and juicer from Carrefour City Centre branch in Qatar. The first unit didn’t work at all, so I had to return and replace it. The second one worked for just a day before breaking down again! When I went back to Carrefour, their customer service told me that the only option was to repair it—no replacement. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. A brand-new appliance should not fail so quickly. I do not recommend Black & Decker products—save your money and choose a more reliable brand!
The handheld vacuum cleaner Dustbuster Flexi cannot have its battery replaced. The machine would work, but obviously recharging wears out the battery. To make machinery that has to be thrown away after a few short years just so you can sell a complete replacement at a time when we are trying to stop that to sact, is sheer ecological vandalism.
I'm a joiner with over 28 years experience in the trade. The black and decker mouse is made by Stanley/DeWalt and is an awesome piece of kit. The supplied sanding sheets are of exceptional quality. For 18 GBP this item has easily prepared two large rooms for decorating without spending a penny more.
Have no idea about contact with customer services, but if you need a multi use sander, accept no substitute. This sander has been on the market for a lot of years and they have got it right. It's not so aggressive it leaves excess marks in any material, while being efficient enough to remove unwanted imperfections. Would highly recommend, you can't go wrong.
I asked B&D support for a documentation for one of their orbital sanders, which is may be 10 years old? Here's their answer, let it speak for itself: "[...] The product in question was discontinued several years ago and unfortunately it is very old and we do not have digitized information in our system; For this reason we do not have documentation available to provide you with the part number, nor do we have spare parts available in stock. " Clearly B&D haven't yet heard of "innovations" such as archive storage, Web History, etc. Mind boggling.
I bought a black decker vacuum BHFEA18D1. I have sent it back as brushes stopped working. They have had it twice sent back unrepaired discusting really. Can't speak to anyone in charge just keep messing you around pathetic really.
Black and Decker workmate 825+
Date of purchase 30.11.24 (date of delivery 9.12.24) Xmas gift.
I'M SHOCKED AT HOW BAD THIS COMPANIES CUSTOMER SERVICE IS.
AFTER PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS ALL I CAN GET IS A REPRESENTATIVE OF SERVICE TEAM WHO OBVIOUSLY KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THE PRODUCTS.
YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE WHO HAS ANY KNOWLEDGE AND JUST GO ROUND IN CIRCLES. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING SERVICE.
SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS SENT TO BLACK AND DECKER......
ONLY OPTION LEFT IS TO SENT IT BACK TO AMAZON.
Fault... parts missing and parts unconnected. The workmate 825+ came in the box with a loose spring separated in bottom of box!
I do not know where this is from, I have 6 springs that connected but as you said yesterday there should be 7 springs connected.
Also I have 2 washers in pack of parts, where do they go? I presume probably on the bolts to the blocks but why only 2.
Also the belt seems very loose and keeps coming off the 2 gear wheels.
The belt does seem to have been stretched. Can this be replaced by yourselves.
I only have a limited time to send this back to Amazon so could you please give me a call ASAP to advise on information contained within.
I have attached pictures of the issues as requested.
Re: B & W TO321555D or TO321555;
sSi nced this was a gift, I'm stuck with it,but the improvements I'd make before I put it on the mark,et would have been easy.
Who reccommended 6pt type (possibly 4 pt) when
14 pt is the smallest font most people can read with the naked eye. Even 10 pt would have been an improvement. How am I supposed to know where a dial is at when the pointer is virtually the same color as its background? I had to call to find the crumb tray: the agent was super and I told him how much I've depended on and liked B & W over the years. Not any more. Your user manual is a disaster: I couldn't read the numbers on your picture of the dials with a high-powered magnifying glass -- I finally got out my jeweler's loupe. Does that tell you any thing? Air fry instructions were confusing, particu;ary when it comes to using the timer: same for using the oven.
I designd checklists and training manuals for Air Force munition personnel and pilots. If my checklists/manuals had been like yours I would have been fired.
Once I get through designing a paste on to make your dials readable, I might get to like the oven. Right now, I wish I could turn it over to Good Will with a warning note. But, I can't.
Pleasee take a look at the customer when you put out another one: and--PLEASE--make everything readable wihout classes or a loupe.
You9 have a truly grteat reputation but, from now on, I'll ask for another brand.
