I purchase a dress for a wedding. Love the style. When it arrived there was a flaw in the fabric and the embellishments looked nothing like the online pictures. I called to find out if I could get a discount as I had to repair the dress myself. There was not enough time to return and re-order another dress before I flew overseas for the wedding. I was only offered a 20% voucher for a future purchase, they would not expedite another dress to me. Very poor service indeed. Won’t be shopping here again :
I recently retired and decided to rebrand my style, for fun. Everything I've ordered, and it's been a LOT, lol, has been premium fabrics, excellent workmanship, and washed well. I'm so pleased, I keep ordering more! I'm excited to see what the fall fashions bring! Ordering was easy, delivery time is reasonable, and lots of deals and special offers to save money.
The Boston Proper items on Facebook are beautiful. I recently placed a clothing order for Nordstrom and the item received was a cheap imitation of the Nordstrom brand sent directly from China. But this order went through and the confirmation email I received was from Boston Proper. It has been three weeks and I have not received the item although SHOP shows it as delivered. I called a few times before I got a person who stated that the item is back ordered and won't be shipped until August. I suspect this is also an imitation of the actual item once retailed by Boston Proper. I was able to get someone on the line after a few attempts and received a refund. Disappointed because I love the dress but based on my experience and some of the reviews, i am not confident the dress would be as high quality as I perceive Boston Proper used to offer.
In the past, Boston Proper was a catalog I stopped using because everything, and I do mean everything, I wanted to order was already out of stock. It was as if I were being teased with a useless catalog so I turned to other stores.
Now, however, through Facebook, I have seen their beautiful clothes once again and I have tried them once again.
Their clothes are available. In fact, I believe their clothes have maintained if not improved on their quality and their attractiveness.
So I did give an overall rating of 8, but truthfully, that is based on past experiences with Boston Proper.
I am waiting to see if the overall quality of clothes plus shopping experience continue to line up with my expectations.
If i could give a negative5 stars I would! July 2-ordered item, paid shipping and free returns fee of $3. Received item badly damaged-package not damaged on outside by shipper (Fed ex) so probably sent out damaged. Notified Boston Proper and had to BEG them to not charge me to return damage item and atleasr give 20% discount on next purhcase. Remember, I had already paid $3 for free returns and why should I havw to pay shipping to return damaged item? I returned thaat Sat and they were supposed to immediatey sendout replacement. They did not. They kept my money and had already received the return. Called them again. They finally sentout out replacement a few days later but item was sent to wrong house thru Fed Ex. Fed Ex confirmed the mistake but stated they cant find the lost item and I ahve to call Boston Proper to get my refund. Boston Proper basically stated its not their problem. After about 6 hours of attempted resolution with noth complanies, I finally had to contact my credit card to file a complaint. Neither Boston Proper nor Fed Ex care that I don't have the lost item and I am out nearly $100. This cant be legal! This is my firsrt negative review ever. Please dont purchase from this company and avoid Fed Ex.
I'm a 30- year Boston Proper client. The quality, variety, and true to size selection has always been impeccable. The attention to detail and sophisticated clothing make it always a shopping pleasure.
Boston Proper’s size guides are fraudulent and totally incorrect. This led me to purchase a dress, of which, I even bought one size bigger just to be sure. When I received it, it was so small that I could not even zip the zipper. I called customer service to return, they wanted to charge me a fee. I fought the fee, got it taken off - however, when I returned the dress, they shorted me several dollars on the refund. I called them, they stated that the amount is a “calculation”. I say, NO, let’s call it what it is - Cheating The Customer !!!!!
Great clothes, but last purchase for me. Its a shame really. Customer service is non-existant. Chatted and called within 2 minutes of realizing I made a mistake and ordered to the wrong address. I was trying to either switch the delivery address or cancel the order. I was told by multiple people including a manager that orders can never be canceled and delivery addresses can never be changed as they have no control of it their system. This seems ridiculous as when you run a buisness you have to account for human error. Also the clothes are pricey so they should have elevated customer service not non-existent customer service.

Spent nearly $400 on an order which I received less than 15 days ago. A dress I purchased for $150 was crap. It had embroidered diamonds and was stunning on. However I wore it less than 4 hours ONE TIME and when I took it off I noticed the cross stitching started unraveling in 3 areas! I emailed and called asking for them to do anything since the dress was defective. I asked they replace it or I’d return it for a store credit and they said no because it was worn. Disgusting customer service. I never spend $150 on a dress and to think I’d have been better off burning my cash because I can’t even wear this. I’m so upset. I sent pictures too and not one person I talked to was willing to do anything and they kept saying it’s their policy because (I was honest to say) it was worn. I even pointed to the date I received it to show I had it less than 2 weeks! Even regular wear wouldn’t cause the embroidery to unravel, much less one day of wear. Do not give this company your money. They don’t care about anything but keeping your money and the quality is shoddy.
I love Boston Proper. I was wanting a beautiful blue color travel pantsuit they had and I went on line to order it. When I found it on the website, the top was available but the pants were gone in my size. My heart sank. I text customer service and asked if they were going to get more in. I told them that if they did get more in to please let me know because I wanted to order the outfit. It was a few weeks later and I received a text message saying that the pants were back in stock. I was so excited, and I went on line and ordered the outfit right away. They have wonderful customer service, and their products are very nice. The prices are reasonable, but the quality looks expensive. You can’t lose with Boston Proper!!!!
Boston Proper has a great selection of pants that fit well and are very stylish. Some of my favorite tops are from Boston Proper. I love getting a new catalog and seeing the latest designs. Their clothes are high quality.
why do your products always end up at least twenty dollars more than what was advertised? It is the reason why I don't shop more often on your website. Plus i was offered a 25% when I spun the wheel but it was not offered at checkout.
Love the styles and special discounts. I get lots of compliments on everything I wear. Pants are always way too long- so please shorter or offer alternative. Otherwise, love almost everything

The quality of the clothing is not up to par and we have been fighting for a timely refund for weeks now. They claim they are "backlogged" with returns, so ours will take longer...I bet they are backlogged with returns. That says it all. We are now communicating with the BBB and consumer fraud dept. in our state to gain our refund. Pass this horrible vendor by. Fraudulent practices with your refunds.
