I was trying to recover a file via their web interface. Horrible interface. Blocks Chromebook users from downloading their own backup files via web browser unless you manually spoof a Windows user-agent. Completely anti-consumer design. Then, I finally got in. The service for searching for a file is terrible. Can't search by file name only. Won't sort found files by date.
Good service! I dumped norton after years. Did Carbonite to get Webroot!

My computer crashed just a few weeks after I became a Carbonite user and I'm SO thankful I didn't lose any of my files, especially the book I'm currently writing!
I have had no adverse interaction with Cabonite.
It was a couple years ago & went very smoothly.
Back up instructions could be changed to clearer instructions!!
Carbonite does what it says it will do. BUT! I lost all my backup because I feel I did not get enough direction when I began downloading my data into a new computer. I made the error that caused the problem, but not all customers have a thorough knowledge of computers and the process of retrieving files and more guidance would have saved me a lot of grief. That said, all customer service reps were very pleasant and tried to be helpful.
Backing up my files and keeping me current on a monthly basis.
Great product and good support. Somewhat expensive though. Have been using it for many years and it has been working seamlessly and quietly in the background.

Data is always backed up. I check on a regular basis the status of my backup and have found everything to be in order and up to date

I have confidence that my data is stored where I can retrieve it, if I need to. I like that I get periodic notifications about the files that are being stored.

I don't have to think about it, or put up with flash drives, and all my data is automatically backed up and ready for me to download if I ever have the necessity. Which--knock on wood--hasn't happened yet.

Tech support is good, but they do not need to speak "Techey" all the time. Bring the tech jargon down a few steps. Use the KISS system. Also, what if the person contacting you does net remember the exact date of the encounter? Gary

Every couple of years I upgrade my PC and each time Carbonite has come through by providing the backup source from which I populate my new PC with years of files, photos, etc. that I have accumulated and want to save. I don't have to think about it - it's always there. Carbonite is an absolutely terrific product.

I have been using this for a while now and I don’t think it’s fair to charge more for a renewal for a current customer when a newly gets it for quite a bit less.
