This is the 5th car our family has purchased from CarMax. The sales team is low pressure, the fee structure is explained very well. With it being a used car, minor things were wrong, and the service department was friendly, helpful, and fast. I had to come several times, but they worked with my schedule each time and fixed all the issues. All the service staff was great, but special shout-out to Camilo in Buena Park!

Buying my new car at CarMax in Tyler was an amazing experience from start to finish! My salesman was incredible—he was transparent, knowledgeable, and made sure I understood everything throughout the entire process. I never felt pressured, and he genuinely wanted to help me find the right vehicle. What stood out the most was the atmosphere. Everyone worked together as a team, and you could tell they truly wanted every customer to have a great experience. It wasn’t the typical “dog-eat-dog” dealership environment at all. The teamwork and professionalism made the whole process smooth and stress-free. They got me in and out quickly, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. If you’re looking for an honest, friendly, and efficient place to buy a car, I highly recommend CarMax in Tyler!

Be aware this dealership on Massachusetts you have to paid sales taxes even you don’t register the car in there .. so I bought a car there pay 2400 on sale tax them pay 2300 on my state .. they never tell you about that
Joined the Lexus family!
I had my 2022 Lexus RX 350 transferred from TN to SC. It arrived fairly quickly, was more beautiful in person than in the photos, and nicely prepared for the test drive. My salesman was friendly, thorough, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. The paperwork was straightforward and simple to complete. I found the price to be reasonable considering the rising prices of used cars. The facility is very large and impressive with a vast selection of vehicles. The entire process was surprisingly seamless to navigate. I highly recommend CarMax of Columbia, SC and Christopher Montgomery in particular.
Loved the car, hated the buying process
While I love the car I bought, the whole shopping experience left a lot of bad taste in my mouth. 1. The salesperson knew very little about the car and the selling process at Carmax. 2. We asked about why the car comes with only one key and the sales manager insisted that we just have to take it as is. 3. The business office forgot to make me sign a form to get the title and I am still waiting for the form to sign after a week. All these are very concerning to me because my prior experience at Carmax eight years ago was much better. It looks like the whole service process deteriorated at Carmax.

We had the BEST salesperson guiding and finding us the right car. Don't hesitate going to Carmax, just as good as any car dealers and when you go, ask for TONY. Carmax made it easy to find a car on our own time
Carmax made it easy to find a car, we were lucky to have found one at our local lot that we liked at a good price with low mileage. The low pressure environment was nice, giving us space to make a decision on our own time. We were able to use a lender of our choice to finance the car and they gave us all the info to make that happen. When it came time to sign and drive away it took maybe 30 minutes total. Everyone was super nice and helpful to.
