Exceptional support, When we needed the most

I can't thank the DreamHost support team enough for the outstanding help they gave us. Due to an issue with our online payment, we unintentionally missed our monthly hosting payment, and our account was suspended without us realising it. After we made the payment, our website still wasn't working. We then learned that, according to the policy, if an account remains suspended for more than two weeks, backups are no longer available. At that point, I felt completely helpless. I didn't have anyone who could rebuild and upload the website again, and I thought we had lost everything. I contacted the DreamHost support team, explained our situation, and they immediately stepped in. Within just a few hours, they managed to restore our website and get it back online. Their quick response, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help made all the difference. Thank you, DreamHost, for going above and beyond to help us when we needed it most. Your excellent customer support has earned our trust and appreciation. Highly recommended!

I don’t understand how anyone could give a negative review of Dreamhost. I’ve been a customer of their shared hosting since October 2009. I’ve seen them go through changes that have been frustrating as a user at time, but through any issues they’ve always been prompt and helpful and friendly. And in the end, things have continually been improving. For the price, they’ve exceeded my expectations. And the times that I’ve used their pro services, I’ve never regretted it.

Steady and solid for years

We've hosted 3 websites with them for many years now, including a substantial Wordpress commerce site, a small personal Wordpress site, and a simple HTML site, and they've been excellent throughout. Quick and professional service response and support, a UI we've watched grow, deepen, and evolve over the years, and a sense of commitment to doing good that I really appreciate. Just had an issue with the commerce site that they resolved quickly and easily. Grateful!

Problems uploading a new website…

I had problems uploading a new website made with a piece of software that I hadn't used before. (Rapidweaver elements) But the support at Dreamhost was second to none. Kind, informative and over a number of emails they patiently sorted out what I needed to change to help me get the site working. Over the last ten years, whenever I have needed help, the level of support has always been good and today was a further example of that. Many thanks to three people involved this time.

dreamhost was OK but now plays games

dreamhost was OK while I was using them, but trying to cancel the contract has turned out to be difficult. I told him via chat that I’m canceling . I also told them by email, but they procrastinated the transfer of the DNS pointer to Hostinger long enough to charge me the next year of hosting. this, even though I had stopped the automatic extension. When sending them an email saying that I refuse the charges their AI pretends that they don’t receive my email and replies with a” your email has NOT been”. (this was in an attempt to send an email to billing@… address.) my email had a case number in it so pretending that they’re spam filter blocked me is a lie. notably, I can no longer log into my account so somehow they must’ve accepted the transfer (just not officially so they can still charge me) update from July 19 after trying 10 times to send an email to support@…. I finally resorted to send an email to sales@… and finally I got a response from support@… Sadly, it was a canned reply. and as you can see from the response below on these Public forum, Dreamhost does not publish names or contact information. They simply don’t want you to cancel and so they make it extremely difficult to cancel online to change your credit card or to reach somebody.

Had issues getting my domain name connected but the DH team was super fast and resolved it quickly for me! Communication was great. Very happy with my switch to DH.

Sometimes you don't know how bad a company is until you try and "leave" them. I moved my websites to Cloudflare back in January/February and saw that I had a renewal on my Dreamhost hosting service coming up in early August. I cancelled the renewal but instead of just cancelling the renewal it also took away all access to my files that I planned to backup. I had to contact help to re-enable access to download my files. However talking to the agent he said that re-enabling access meant that now the account would auto-renew. So I would have to cancel again after downloading. Given that I had paid up through Aug 10 it seems lame to remove access immediately. Also even though I had changed the DNS and moved my website to Cloudflare I saw that Dreamhost continued to charge me an absurd 10/month for PHP support for my websites using outdated PHP. They refused to refund this.

Again, Dreamhost delivers the best service

Again, Dreamhost delivers the best service. This time, when I needed to move one function outside, I got repeated guidance, with care to ensure the intricacies were clear. Repeated. Delivered with grace, and good cheer. Then, when one of the large files left something behind, the most detailed steps were taken – even though the lost piece was not essential – providing as always: the best service. Thanks to the support staff, and to Dreamhost.
