When you area small business and just need to send out maximum three times a year to 50-80 clients it's not a good value. It's cheaper to do it old style and send by regular mail, or even to print and send by post.

⭐ 1/5

⭐ 1/5 — 15 Days Locked Out, Zero Resolution I have been locked out of my Mailchimp account for over 15 days due to a Two-Factor Authentication issue after changing my phone number. This is a legitimate business account under Wolfpack Sportz (Ticket #15160235671). Here's what their support put me through: • Asked me to email from a specific address — I did. No reply. • When I followed up from my personal email, they repeatedly told me to use the other address instead of actually helping. • After 15 days of back and forth, they asked me to submit a government-issued passport photo through a third-party link. • When I declined to submit my passport (which is a reasonable boundary), they offered "verification questions" — but that option has still not been followed through. • I have been unable to send campaigns, access my audience data, or run my business through this platform during this entire period. • Despite being a paying subscriber, I have received no billing relief, no urgency, and no resolution. The support team has been courteous in tone but completely ineffective in action. The process is circular, the security verification demands are excessive for a paying account owner, and there is no escalation path offered. Mailchimp charges monthly fees for a service I have been unable to access for over two weeks. This is unacceptable. I am now escalating to Intuit Executive Relations and filing a complaint with the FTC and BBB. If you are a small business owner — think carefully before relying on Mailchimp as a critical communication tool. One phone number change can lock you out indefinitely with no real path to recovery.

AVOID MailChimp at all costs - terrible platform!

Since being purchased by Intuit, MailChimp has suffered the same fate as most Intuit products, meaning they ruined what was once easy to use. I've used MailChimp - on and off - for 15+ years, and extensively for the last 5 years, and it just keeps getting worse and worse. It feels like they're making changes to the platform OFTEN and EVERY change brings new problems and makes more clicks to get my job done. It often now results in major frustration and leaves me angry....almost daily. It is the WORST piece of crap list management tool I've ever used, and I've used many of their competitors (Aweber, iContact, Constant Contact, MailerLIte, etc....the list goes on) and I STILL use a few of the others. ALL are better than MailChimp, the only reason I stick with them is because of one client who insists on it, but I’m THISCLOSE to firing this client just to get away from MailChimp. I report problems to them ALL THE TIME and all I get are "thanks for your feedback" but nothing ever gets better, it continues to get worse. DO yourself a huge favor and choose a different company for your list management/email needs.

Mailchimp is by far the best technical support available from all the websites/Apps that I need to engage with as CEO / Sole Trader of my own company. No bot, no misinformation, just pure human communication skills and knowledge. In addition to the ability to share screens - this is a major game changer. Thank you Mailchimp Support (today - Mr Yuki)

Mailchimp Support to the Rescue!

I had sent out an important correspondence to our membership which included a link to a document. There was an issue discovered with the document and Mailchimp customer support helped me address it so that I did not have to send out a corrected campaign. I am so grateful for the help by Lucho and the tech team.

Extremely poor service and product

Extremely poor service and product. Consist issues in revenue reporting and reliability of figures. (Dashboard says one thing, reports say another - desktop says one figure, the mobile app says another along with subscriber figure discrepancies, etc.) I was encouraged to email the Customer Success team however, I am yet to receive a single reply and all emails have gone unanswered. Myself and my team have spent hours on chatbox and phone calls running around in circles - nobody seems equipped to answer simple questions. There is little support options available despite being accounted for in billing. Constantly undergoing "upgrades" which seem to break features and revenue / data reporting and not sufficiently tested prior to launch and deployment. Update 01/07: Have reached out to the below contact email, supplied by Mailchimp in their reply, twice and unsurprisingly have not received any reply or acknowledgement.

Reply from Intuit Mailchimp2026-05-29

Thank you for your review, Niamh. Your feedback has been heard, and this is not the level of service or reliability we aim to provide. The data inconsistencies across our dashboard, reports, and mobile app, along with the lack of response from our Customer Success team, are concerns we want to look into. Please email us additional details to [email protected], and we'll get you in touch with someone who can help work through these concerns with you. We value your business and are committed to making this right.

Beware, this could happen to your ecommerce

Beware. This could happen to you. Mailchimp disabled my account for an unspecified compliance review, after 1 year of successful collaboration. I have tried to understand the reason behind this decision for over a week now, without any results. The compliance team never replied to my requests and the customer support team apparently has no clue of what's going on. For over a week all my marketing is not working. New customers don't receive welcome messages, messages related to the activation process, renewal notices, nor any other vital piece of communication. BEWARE, this could happen to you. And Mailchimp is not providing any information, any ideas nor timing to resolve this major issue. A disaster for any e-commerce. Find an alternative provide as soon as possible. UPDATE: After sending more info to Mailchimp on their request nothing changed. Now Zapier blocked several Zaps linked to Mailchimp. All our marketing automation is collapsing due to Mailchimp temporary suspension and we still don't know why and how to resolve it NEW UPDATE: after a few days we received two messages from Mailchimp, exactly 13 minutes apart. The first on from their Compliance team claiming unauthorized access and one from their Web Team claiming that our "ticket is a technical support ticket not a compliance ticket". Should we try the proposed solutions one after the ther, both at the same time, flip a coin and decide... from bad to worse

Terrible

Terrible. Even without the always trying to grab money and conning you into upgrading when you don't want or need to the platform is really cumbersome and frustrating to use. Reply to Reply: You'd have to alter your whole editing model to bring it into line to what people are used to, then make it work.

I have been with MailChimp for nearly…

I have been with MailChimp for nearly 18 years. However, a few years back they introduced forced two-factor authentication and twice in the past 12 months this has cost me thousands is lost sales. You see, MailChimp, unlike more professional companies, which, when they need to send you a code, give the option of receiving it by text or email. However, the Chimpanzees only allow two-factor authentication by text. The Chimpanzees seem to believe that everyone keeps the same phone and phone number foreverrrrrrrrrrr. These Chimpanzees refuse to take into account that nearly everyone will at some point either lose their phone or have it stolen or the phone will at sometime become damaged and cannot receive texts. I had my phone stolen last year,, and I was locked out of my MailChimp for nearly a month. More professional companies have a customer service that can be contacted by phone or email, but not the Chimpanzees. Once again I lost my phone this weekend and am now locked out of my account. I goggled how to contact MailChimp customers service if you lose your phone and cannot receive the two-factor authentication. Chimpanzees have a solution. They say: if you have lost your phone and cannot receive the two-factor authentication. You should reach out to Mailchimp support If you need to get in touch with the recovery team. You can send a request using the Mailchimp Account Recovery Contact Form. How do I request to the Mailchimp Account Recovery Contact Form, you may ask? The Chimpanzees say log into your account (the account you are locked out of) and complete the recovery contact form. So to log into your account you must first input the code they sent to your lost phone. The Chimpanzees hide the recovery contact form you need to complete to get back into your account, on the account that you are locked out of. The Chimpanzees also have a live customer service to help you get back into the account you are locked out of. However, you can only contact their customer service to gain access to the account you are locked out of by accessing the account that you are lock out of. I am fast coming to believe that only real Chimpanzees could have created such a stupid and unusable customer service. As a MailChimp customer of over 18 years, my advise is do not use MailChimp, the service has become terrible in the past few years. At sometime you will lose your phone, have it stolen or it will break. Then you will be locked our of your MailChimp account. They will not help you but will still continue to charge your bank account. I think it is time for me to ditch the Chimpanzees and move to a professional service such as MailerLite. UPDATE: MailChimp replied to the above review: Here is my reply to them - Dear MailChimp Thank you for supplying your highly secret customer account recovery contact email. Are you not a little worried that some of your other pissed-off, customers may see this highly secret customer contact email here and start using it? This morning after four days trying to find a way to contact MailChimp customer account recovery service by email. I found this contact your account recovery email contect. I was so happy, and I emailed it straight away. However, I then received an email saying – This email address is no longer monitored. They supplied a link telling me to fill in the recovery form. However, the link takes me to the standard login page, not to a recovery form page. It tells me to gain access to my account, in need to log into the account that I cannot gain access to because I cannot receive the security code by SIM because I lost my phone. I cannot believe that your solution is to tell me to fill in the recovery form by logging into my account that I am locked out of. This is dumb. If I could log into my account, I would not need to fill in a recovery form to gain access to my account. I am becoming convinced that your customer service is run by your competition possible the great company MailerLite. This can be the only logical reason why your customer service goes to such great lengths to piss your customers off, block them contecting your customer service and actualy drive them to other services such as Mailerlite. I am right now going to try to contact your customer recovery services on the highly secret customer contact email you supplied here. I will report back on the results tomorrow.

Awful! Money snatchers & bad comms

Terrible platform. My experience: Charge you a monthly membership to send their required number of emails, then if you import your contacts they flag it as spam, block your emails sending, still charge you the money and when you request a refund, they drag it out for days and refuse without justifying the reason.

Zero stars for customer service!

We are locked out of our account and nobody from Mailchimp has bothered to reply to multiple requests for help. When I went to sales they replied straight away though because they thought we were new customers!!! But then refused to put us in touch with the appropriate department who could resolve our issue. Looking for an alternative. Do not use Mailchimp would be my advice.

Reply from Intuit Mailchimp2026-05-21

We're sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must be to feel locked out without a resolution. We looked into this and see that our Account Recovery team did reach out on April 24, April 30, May 19, and May 20 in response to your support requests. If you haven't seen those messages, we'd encourage you to check your spam or junk folder. Please reply to one of those existing threads so we can help get this sorted as quickly as possible.
