Excellent - holds themselves accountable with high standards
Truly accountable, as a genuine domain registrar and marketplace should be. Reasonable pricing for most TLDs and proper follow-through. Using their services since 2018 with no issues thus far. All-around perfect.

Bought .love domain for my personal non-profit website — Got accused of being russian and supporting war, banned twice, ignored me and their own rules
Bought .love domain for my personal non-profit website.
After a month they banned me because I wasn't replying to their emails (I didn't received them) about that WHOIS data is not valid and I need to change it and ladies and gentlemen... blocked access to my account so... I wouldn't be able to change that WHOIS data? I don't what are they were thinking. Anyways, I said that this data is valid, you can call me by that phone number I typed or come visit me at this address but they just kept saying "it's not valid", I asked WHAT EXACTLY is wrong in the data I provided, they once again replied "It's not valid, you typed fake data blah blah". And then they banned me TWICE because they saw that my domain is linked to some cheap server located in Russia and they said also sent me an article that Russians allowed as long as it's non-profit and doesn't support Putin regime of destroying Ukraine. And ended with that you either dox yourself with a selfie next to photo of your passport that you are not from Russia or go shit yourself because apparently your .love website doesn't fall for non-profit and not supporting war in Ukraine. And when I once again replied that data is valid, I'm not from Russia, I'm not going to send my passport to some sketchy domain website that does this bullshit and even if I was I didn't broke their rules, my site was completely non-profit and it didn't contained anything about war in Ukraine or supporting Russia, I just rented VDS that costed $1 a month from the advertisement in the Google search, like wtf???
And after that reply they ignored me for a month and all of a sudden replied once again that data is invalid, I need to show them my passport and my website doesn't fall for their rules (???).
Moreover the website was about LGBTQ+ stuff.
In Russia being openly gay means jail/big fine, trans surgeries banned etc
And by NameCheap logic it's totally makes sense for a russian buying a .love domain to spread russian propaganda at the same time with LGBTQ+ one propaganda on his website
or whatever they thought instead of simply visiting MY WEBSITE THEMSELVES to see there is nothing about they are accusing me of!
What's next? You gonna accuse a jew in supporting nazi Germany?
Thought I got a best deal for .love domain but instead got scammed and got worst experience ever imaginable, this is beyond just scamming.

They ignore a domain selling DRUGS that breaks their own rules
I reported a .ca domain Namecheap is the registrar for — an online shop openly selling illegal drugs and marketing them, with false medical claims, as a cure for depression, anxiety and PTSD. These claims can genuinely harm people's health and lives: someone close to me believed them at her lowest point, and it nearly cost her her life.
I gave Namecheap exactly what their process requires: the domain, the URLs, and screenshots. Publicly they told me "zero tolerance" and that they'd "prioritised" it. Privately they rejected the same report as impossible to verify — on a site that openly admits, in its own words, what it sells — and even cited ICANN and GDPR, neither of which governs a .ca domain (that's CIRA, Canadian law). All of this only suggests my report was never actually reviewed. Since then, my follow-ups have simply been ignored.
Their own site states: "Namecheap's investigation, regardless of whether we are registrar and/or hosting company, is the same for both." In other words, registrar or host, they still investigate and act in line with their own rules.
This is an indisputable breach of their own AUP, so acting on it is simply enforcing the rule they wrote themselves. Namecheap is a large, reputable registrar that clearly stands by its word; I would genuinely prefer not to be convinced otherwise. I'm only asking them to look at it and act.

Hello Ethan,
We appreciate any reports that help our teams to eliminate fraudulent sites using our hosting. Please note that our Legal and Abuse department has zero tolerance towards any illegal activity that is related to the services provided by Namecheap.
All complaints are investigated, and actions are taken when necessary. However, we may not always respond with the results of our investigation, but rest assured that your complaint will be properly evaluated and action will be taken in accordance with Namecheap policies.
You are welcome to check yourself if the domain is active by searching the domain status via Namecheap Lookup. If the domain status is in clientHold/serverHold, it means the domain has been suspended and is not available on the Internet.
UPD: Our team will check your report closely and reply to the email shortly. We have prioritised your request. Thank you for your patience. Additionally, please respond to the private request for more details we've sent.
UPD: Thank you for getting back to us. Unfortunately, when Namecheap acts solely as the domain registrar and does not host the website's content, our ability to verify abuse reports and take enforcement actions may be limited.
Our team has already followed up with you, providing further clarification and the available next steps. We appreciate your understanding.
Best regards,
Namecheap Team
I have been with namecheap for about a year now. I recently bought another domain and my business emails through them. The buying and checkout process is easy and everything worked as intended.

Hello Sam,
Thank you for the review!
Please be advised that the registration, transfer, and renewal prices are set by the domain TLD registry, and we as a registrar, have to comply with them. Still, we are able to provide our customers with some discounts.
You can find promo codes at the following link: https://www.namecheap.com/promos/

Turbulence and a rough landing, but the plane landed safely
Ok, this is the most recent update, 7/27/26. I went with them not only for pricing, but also because they offered full transfer service. I didn't have the time to tinker with something I rarely do and kinda have to re-learn each time I stand my little portfolio of sites up at a new place. The transfer seemed to go ok, with a few small glitches. But the WP-admin was still pointing to my old hosts, which was a concern, for me, because it wasn't clear where edits were being written and what would happen once my hosting was fully cancelled. I asked some questions about this and another domain file that I suspected was just the equivalent to the zipped folder for the cPanel transfer, but I was hesitant to delete without certainty. Once the sites were transferred, however, I was also transferred from "concierge" to "support." Support initially responded with, I don't know, you'll have to take a look at it or fix it, yourself. Since I didn't set it up, I had no idea what they had done and, again, the whole point was to not waste time doing this back-end stuff. I deleted on one site what seemed an obvious problem, and one whole site crashed. Couldn't even get to the back-end to undo it. The plugin and the ultimate PHP problem were related, but ultimately the core issue was a PHP version issue. I spent a lot of time trying to fix that and some other problems. For non-developers, "support" is basically a DIY pushback. I accept that my expectation of "whole to whole" may have been beyond the scope. If you have that time/interest to tinker, cool. If you expect to go from having a pre-move fully functional ecosystem to a post-move functional ecosystem without hours of your time in the process, maybe not for you. HOWEVER, I wll say that after posting a review here, I did get some proactive help which fixed everything in the immediate, and my relief was enormous. So, in the end, it turned out alright and I feel better. I acknowledge I have/need/want handholding on this in a way that you have to pay more to get. But that may be true for many out there, so just know what it is.

Hello,
We are sorry to hear about your experience.
We would like to be able to check this from our side.
We have sent you a private request for more information so we can investigate further. If you can respond, we can look into it for you.
UPD: Thank you for details provided.
Per our check, the issue is related to a PHP fatal error within the active WordPress theme after the Bluehost plugin was removed.
Still, we understand your concerns.
To avoid any delays in this matter, please continue communicating with our Support Team via existing ticket, where they'll be able to assist you further.
UPD: Thank you for the updated review. As we can see, the issue has been resolved now. If you ever come across any questions or have additional feedback, we are here for you.
