Is Nomador legit?
Nomador (www.nomador.com) has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on OK.one, based on 201 user reviews collected here. It is listed under Animals & Pets and its reputation is excellent. 87% of reviews are 4 stars or higher and 6% are 1 star; The business has replied to 42% of negative reviews; 105 of them were added in the last 12 months. The concept behind NOMADOR is genuinely excellent. Allowing pet owners to travel while welcoming people who want to discover new places is simple, generous, and mutually beneficial. When it works, it’s brilliant—and that’s precisely why the platform deserves to be better protected.
Unfortunately, two aspects of the review system seriously undermine trust.
First, anonymous reviews. Allowing people to leave negative feedback without identifying themselves is, in my opinion, deeply problematic. It opens the door to unfair, even malicious reviews, where anyone with a grievance can damage a profile without accountability. This lack of transparency feels cowardly and fundamentally unjust in a system built on trust.
Second, the ease with which fake reviews can be created is alarming. It is not difficult to spot obviously fabricated feedback: a friend or partner creates an account, a fictitious house-sitting date is agreed upon, and a glowing, entirely fake review follows. When this happens, genuine recommendations lose all value, and users who play by the rules are penalised.
I still believe strongly in the philosophy of NOMADOR, and I want to like—and trust—the platform. But for that to happen, serious improvements are needed to guarantee the authenticity of reviews and the fairness of the evaluation system. Trust is the foundation of house sitting, and without reliable, accountable recommendations, the whole idea is weakened.
There are plenty of house-sitting opportunities, the homeowners are very kind and the platform verifies their identity.
We've been on one successful house sit so far through Nomador and plan further.
The support team is very nice and helpful.
Such a great initiative!
You discover new places while keeping people's lovely pets. As a young person that does not have a huge income this is very useful and super grounding to take care of animals.
I have met beautiful people during my journey and I am more than thankful for these encounters that have truly been life-changing :)
Will continue to be a pet -sitter and would definitely recommend to people who are looking for a costless adventure and are pet lover, proactive, open-minded.
Yet another company that collects your money after promising a service (House protection) and LATER tells you that actually you need to send to a third party over which they have no control of, your biometric data, plus an id photo. Yes, those that are leaked all the time all over the place, always hosted by "reputable companies", yes, those.
I am not against this on itself, I am against dishonest companies that know very well that lots of people would back down from subscribing if this was made clear in advance, so they just stay silent until the payment is done. Incredibly dishonest. Now I paid a **** of money but I'm not actually covered unless I accept a very real additional risk. Honestly, I despise you with my guts. EVEN WORSE: Not only is not shown anywhere during the subscription process but if you were part of the 1% of people that go an read the terms of this House protection on their site ( their site slash about slash home-protection-insurance-terms ) you would find NOTHING saying that you need to give away extremely personal and sensitive data to use this service. MEANING THIS IS NOT EVEN LEGAL!
I always find professional friendly cat - and housesitters through Nomador, even often last minute. So far I have several invites, and also people that would like to return.
The money for the subscription is well spent, however, the handling of the website could be optimized, clearer and more simplified.
I have had nice experiences with Nomador, dealing with nice people, nice pets, and also visiting new and interesting places.
The only con I find is that sometimes your stay is confirmed in a short notice and that is not very convenient at the time to buy the flights.
