Bought two books to download, saved a lot by taking advantage of their sale. Very straight forward payment process and easy download with lots of options for file type: epub, pdf, even google playbooks. I signed up for a simply account to have all my books available when and where I want them, so I can have a copy on each device. Very pleased.

This is not a review of the book as I have yet to read it properly, but I would like to register a complaint about the production standards of this 'print-on-demand' book. My copy is very poorly bound with the front hard cover projecting further out than the back cover which scarcely matches the text. The whole thing looks ugly and liable to fall apart fairly quickly with use. Given that I paid nearly £60 for this, and that was with a discount, I do not think there is much Quality Assurance where these items are being printed. I would appreciate a better copy if one is available.

I'm very impressed with Palgrave Macmillan. The have a great range of titles in my area of interest. The books arrived promptly.

Appalling customer service beggars belief

As per the comment left for the other book in the same order: 0 stars if this were an option. Utterly hopeless customer service. I ordered two books, one voucher was remitted but didn't register. I complained and didn't get a reply for days. I only got a reply after the order was recieved when I had to complain again about a book which has only a score random words printed on each left-hand page. It's completely unusable and I sent a video to demonstrate this. Instead of an apology and new copy, I was asked to provide photographic evidence to support my 'claim' that the book was misprinted. This issue is still not resolved well over a week later. Twice I've been told issues will be 'escalated' to another department but not given any details as to which department. Requests for this information have been ignored. Appalling customer service - which might have been vaguely bearable if I wasn't now left hanging with a faulty product. This beggars belief.

I have had a truly horrendous experience with Palgrave, because of a completely inexperienced, rude, and unprofessional editor. Sadly, this terrible experience came after I had earlier published a book with the company. Ever since the transition to Springer, however, it has been nothing but downhill for Palgrave. The publisher is to be avoided by any serious scholar.
