Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Active customers frequently mention that the dedicated support team is extremely helpful, polite, and quick to resolve any questions or everyday issues. Many people also deeply appreciate the smooth and straightforward claims process, noting that financial compensation is handled efficiently when unexpected problems arise.
However, some customers also noted that insurance claims can sometimes be unexpectedly rejected due to strict terms and conditions or specific policy limitations. A few individuals experienced frustrating communication delays or felt that the entire procedure was unnecessarily slow and complicated to navigate successfully.

Excellent service and response; should ditch the reliance on Royal Mail reports, as the reason we use Securus to insure shipments is because of the main carriers' substandard service.
I use them for all my higher value shipments and recommend that you do to
I have been a customer with Secursus for five years and submitted my first claim 10 days ago. Frankly, I was a little nervous as some insurers have a reputation for refusing claims for any frivolous reason. Thankfully, Secursus are not one of those companies. Once I had provided the requested information/documentation my claim was settled within 7 working days. Furthermore, the claim was paid out in full with no excess or policy deductions. The claims handler that primarily dealt with my claim was professional, competent and very responsive. So why am I sharing my experience with you? I am a small micro business therefore cashflow is a constant challenge. A £1,550 loss is substantial to me and would likely have resulted in me not taking a salary for the month. Secursus ability to promptly settle my claim, in full, and without fuss has certainly made my life a little easier.
I used Secursus twice in the past months. It was an excellent experience : no hidden small rules, clear explanation, fast and smooth procedure of insurance, very fast answer on my questions. And for incredibly competitive prices. Of course you hope that your shipments arrive without problems ( which was the case), but it feels good if you know that your items are properly and well insured. For me, as a private person, member of a group of collectors, who exchange items or sell sometimes an item to other collecting friends, it is also very convenient that the written agreement between 2 people is an excellent option. I just can recommend Secursus for the experiences with them so far. I sure shall use their service again.
There is great communication throughout the claims process, which is the most important to me as a customer. No one likes feeling like they are pushed to the side or ignored, so the communication was a huge plus.
We have used Secursus as a business for 6 months now and they are always accommodating and happy to go above and beyond our needs and requirements no matter what the task. We will continue to support Secursus for many years to come and one of our suppliers are now using Secursus for third party parcel insurance. Thank you!
I cannot recommend Secursus based on my experience.
I have been a loyal Secursus customer for several years and have used their insurance service on a weekly basis for my high-value watch shipments. During all that time, this was the very first claim I ever had to submit.
I purchased their insurance to protect the shipment of a custom-made watch worth €10,500. The parcel was shipped via FedEx and arrived with the contents missing.
What followed was an exhausting claims process that lasted for nearly a year.
During that time, I was repeatedly asked to provide additional documents, explanations, invoices, correspondence, police reports, proof of value, proof of loss, customer communications and many other supporting documents. I spent countless hours gathering evidence, uploading documents, answering questions and maintaining extensive email correspondence with Secursus, their insurer and the authorities.
At every stage I fully cooperated and supplied everything that was requested.
After nearly a year of patience, the claim was ultimately rejected not because the loss itself was disputed, not because of fraud, and not because inaccurate shipping information had been provided, but solely because the purchaser listed on the invoice was different from the recipient listed on the shipping label.
In other words, after months of investigation and document requests, the claim was denied based on what I consider to be a highly technical interpretation of the Terms & Conditions that had no apparent connection to the theft that occurred during transit.
The package was accepted for shipment, the insurance premium was accepted, the shipment was genuine, the recipient was genuine, and the financial loss was genuine. Yet none of that ultimately mattered.
My impression is that the claims process creates the expectation that the case is being assessed on its merits, only for the final decision to rely on a contractual technicality that was never identified as an issue throughout the investigation.
As a long-standing customer who faithfully used Secursus week after week for years, I found it particularly disappointing that my first ever claim was handled in this way.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend Secursus and would strongly advise anyone shipping valuable items to carefully consider whether this insurance provides the protection they expect when they actually need to make a claim.
Edit: because I can't respond to secursus reaction I will do it in this way. This is what secursus does, they will find a way to decline the claim, even though a financial loss was send to secursus and accepted and the key they found was used for evidence by the police to track down the most likely thief. Again, stay far away from this company when sending high value items. Greetings from Ketelaars Watches

Dear Stefan,
We are sorry to read this review and would like to provide the full context of this case, as the situation is more complex than presented.
In this shipment, the watch was sold to a buyer in the Philippines who requested delivery to a third party in Hong Kong. Under our Terms and Conditions, which were accepted at the time of purchase, insurance only covers shipments sent directly to the buyer. Redirecting a shipment to a third party at a different address explicitly voids coverage, and this condition is clearly stated in our policy.
Additionally, the recipient at the Hong Kong address claimed to have received a car key rather than a watch, which is a highly suspicious circumstance that warranted careful examination on our part.
Finally, and most importantly, over a year after the incident, no financial loss has been established. The end buyer in the Philippines has never been reimbursed by you. Secursus exists to compensate clients who have suffered a real and demonstrated financial loss. Where no such loss exists, no indemnification is due.
We remain committed to fair and transparent claims handling for all our customers.
The Secursus Team
My experience with Secursus has been extremely deceitful and disappointing, to say the least. Please, if you need peace of mind when shipping high-value items, mark my words and do not deal with Secursus. They are extremely dishonest and their main priority is to find ways to decline claims.
I have insured 36 high-value parcels with Secursus, since 2023. I initially chose to insure all my parcels with them because of the straightforward and easy process they promote. I have read carefully throughout the website, from the packaging instructions, FAQ and any relevant information.
Everytime I ship an item, I always make sure to purchase Secursus insurance before midnight, take countless pictures of the items before packaging them, take pictures of box and labels, make sure I have proof of value and comply with the instructions mentioned. Secursus is the reason why I started to pay for UPS pick-up (even though there is an access point 5 minutes from my house and literally one adjacent to my office building).
June 30th, 2026, I shipped a package with UPS that ended up lost. I requested a pick-up from UPS, got e-mail of completion of the pick-up but the driver did not scan it. This shipment was insured with Secursus, so I opened a claim as soon as UPS started the investigation.
To begin, the claims process was extremely and unnecessarily slow. My claims representative typically replied only once a day, asking one question at a time. I responded promptly to every request, yet each answer was followed by another long wait. This significantly prolonged the handling of my claim.
My package was lost by UPS. Although there was no pickup scan, I had a completed pick-up request confirming UPS picked up a package at my place. Accordingly to the rep, that was not acceptable because there was no pick-up scan and no proof that was the actual package that was picked-up. UPS completed its investigation and acknowledged that the parcel had been lost in a letter. I uploaded that letter and let them know.
From reviewing Secursus FAQ, the most important thing when filing for insurance is having a proof of value. I submitted the retail receipt of the 2 bags I shipped and insured with the initial set of documents submitted.
Still according to Secursus, shipment between individuals is allowed provided there second-hand goods.
Despite providing all the documentation requested throughout the process, my claim was ultimately denied because I could not provide proof of payment of the recipient prior to the shipment of the goods. The rep used it as a reason to deny my claims, saying “ Here is what is stated in our T&Cs : For Second-Hand Merchandise: A sales invoice or written sale agreement stating the value of the Merchandise, dated less than two (2) months from the Pick-Up Date, accompanied by proof of payment confirming that the Recipient has paid the Shipper for the declared amount.”
However, when I went myself to verify the terms and conditions, there was no condition that the recipient issued payment to the shipper. Here is what is written under the section 8.3 Declared Value Requirements:
“- For Second-hand Merchandise: A sales commercial invoice or a written agreement stating the value of the Merchandise, dated less than two (2) months from the Pick-up Date, matching the insured amount.” The invoices submitted were less than 2 months.
I took a timestamp screenshot of both the French and English versions, printed the T&Cs in PDF and went to the code source of the page to have a timestamp record of what is written on the website. I also did a screenrecording on my phone, showing me navigating on the website, in both English and French.
As a French company, Secursus is subject to French consumer and contract law. In particular, the principle of good faith in the performance of contracts (Article 1104 of the French Civil Code) requires contracts to be performed loyally and fairly. In addition, ambiguous contractual clauses are generally interpreted against the party that drafted them (Article 1190 of the French Civil Code).
Overall, I am just disgusted and disappointed, first for giving them my money all these years, and second for all the time I have spent carefully packaging items and following their instructions for my claim to be unjustly denied.
I have already filed a complaint with the French consumer authority (DGCCRF). If you plan to use Secursus, please don’t. I repeat, all they care about is to find ways to deny claim and it’s not easy and straightforward to file a claim with them as they pretend.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We take all feedback seriously and want to provide an accurate account of the facts in this case.
We have handled your file with care and transparency throughout, and we want to address the key points you have raised.
On the tracking and proof of collection
Our policy (Article 5.1) states that coverage begins at the moment the parcel is physically handed over to the carrier. In your case, the UPS tracking system shows no scan at any stage of the journey, not at collection, not at the sorting facility, not in transit. UPS automatically scans every parcel that physically enters their network, without exception. The collection confirmation email you received confirms that a driver visited your address, it does not confirm that a parcel was collected and entered the UPS network. Without any evidence that the parcel was physically taken into the carrier's possession, the conditions for coverage to commence under Article 5.1 were never met.
On the eligibility of your shipment
Independently of the tracking issue, your shipment was not eligible for coverage for a more fundamental reason. As a private individual, our policy (Article 2) covers only second-hand goods being sold or transferred. The Saint Laurent bags shipped were purchased days before the shipment date, meaning they were new items at the time of dispatch. Our policy does not cover new merchandise shipped by private individuals, regardless of the destination or the declared value. Furthermore, you confirmed that the shipment was a consignment arrangement with no sale concluded at the time of dispatch, which falls outside the scope of coverage entirely.
On the Terms and Conditions
Secursus operates separate entities in France and the United States, each with their own Terms and Conditions adapted to their respective markets. It appears you may have been comparing different language versions of our website, which do not correspond to the same contract. The Terms and Conditions applicable to your shipment are those you accepted at the time of subscription, a copy of which is available at any time in your personal account space. We invite you to refer to that document rather than to a version consulted after the fact on our public website.
We understand this outcome is frustrating, particularly given your long history with us. However the refusal was based on clear contractual grounds, not on a desire to avoid paying claims.
The Secursus Team
I have been using Secursus for a couple of years now and have insured over a 100 parcels. They are always helpful and my claims have been settled promptly.
I would definitely recommend using them for insuring valuable shipments but they are not for everyone. You need to use a signed delivery service which is becoming a bit of a pain for shipments sent abroad. Make sure you read the T&C's and follow them.
I took out a Secursus policy for an international return shipment (Italy-Germany) which I then cancelled before the parcel was sent. Their customer service was extremely fast: as soon as I let them know the package had never actually shipped, they cancelled the policy and refunded the full amount without any hassle. Clear and efficient communication. Highly recommended for anyone needing to insure valuable shipments with reliability and no surprises.
Paid in full when the carrier and booking platform failed us
Our shipment (a one-of-a-kind ceramic lamp) was lost by UPS on its way from Spain to the US. What followed was two months of chasing the carrier and the booking platform for resolution and paperwork — a genuinely exhausting process on their end.
Secursus was the opposite experience. They were responsive throughout, kept the claim open while we fought to get the official loss documentation, and were pragmatic when the booking platform refused to hand over the formal UPS resolution letter — they accepted reasonable evidence instead of hiding behind formalities. Once the claim was accepted, payment followed within days.
For a small business shipping valuable one-off pieces internationally, this is exactly what insurance should be. The premium was a few euros; the payout covered the full insured value. We'll be insuring every shipment with Secursus going forward.

Great services from this company I’ve used it a few times to insure valuable parcels. Smooth from start to finish and on the occasion I needed to cancel the insurance cover due to a cancellation, Marie has been wonderful in ensuring the cover was cancelled and refunded. Thank you

Hello, thank you very much for your kind review and for trusting Secursus with your shipments. We're delighted Marie could help. Best regards, the Secursus team.
Easy to use and much cheaper than other parcel insurers I looked at. Customer service replied quickly to my enquiries and were helpful throughout. The insurance was very easy to arrange. I haven't had to make a claim, so I can't comment on that side, but based on my experience so far I am very happy to use them.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we're glad the sign-up process and support were smooth. Best regards, the Secursus team
It's a scam! Shipped a luxury watch with them, got lost by UPS, they won't refund it because "items sold and bought online are not covered". Paid for NOTHING!

Thank you for sharing your experience. We take all feedback seriously and want to provide the full picture.
Secursus is not a scam. We are a regulated insurance intermediary, operating since 2018 with over 30,000 clients.
Our Terms and Conditions, which are presented clearly before any purchase and must be accepted before coverage is issued, define the exact scope of coverage. In your case, the shipment did not meet the eligibility criteria set out in those terms. This is not a scam, it is a contract with defined conditions, as with any insurance policy.
We would also like to point out that your insurance premium was refunded in full. You have paid nothing for this policy.
We genuinely understand the frustration of a lost shipment, and we are sorry the coverage did not apply to your situation. However, we would encourage any customer to take a few minutes to read our documentation before insuring a high-value shipment. Our terms are publicly available, and our team is always available by email to confirm coverage eligibility before any shipment is sent.

Very positive experience with fragile glass item damage claim
Very positive experience overall. I had a fragile glass item damaged in transit and Secursus handled the situation professionally and fairly throughout. Communication was clear, responses were polite and helpful, and the claim process was ultimately resolved smoothly.
A special thank you to Marie from customer service, who was extremely professional, understanding and responsive throughout the process. She took the time to review everything carefully and provided excellent support from start to finish. I highly recommend dealing with her.
I also appreciated the guidance provided regarding future shipments and packaging validation for fragile items. It is reassuring to deal with a company that takes the time to communicate properly with customers and review situations carefully.
Thank you again to Marie and the Secursus team for the support and assistance.

Hello, thank you so much for your detailed review, we'll be sure to pass your thanks on to Marie. Best regards, the Secursus team
Try filing a claim with this company. They refer to their Terms & Conditions (T&C) on everything when making a claim. When their T&C is met they will keep adding additional term and conditions until you can’t meet one of them. Very Crooked Company! You will end up suing them I guarantee it!
Reply from Secursus2026-07-17
Hello,
As explained to you directly when your claim was reviewed, coverage under our policy is governed by Terms & Conditions that are disclosed and accepted at subscription, before any shipment is insured. The shipment you insured did not meet the eligibility criteria set out in those T&Cs, criteria that were in place from the start and were communicated to you at the time your claim was declined.
We stand by that decision. If you have new information to add to your file, you're welcome to send it to our claims team.
Best regards,
The Secursus Team
