They really didn’t deserve a star. This being my first time booking I feel as though I was taking advantage of because of my not knowing. My taxes and fees were actually my plane ticket which was $227.00 is how they had it. Was never offered refundable tickets. I was told that they don’t offer refundable tickets, I would never recommend this site to anyone that’s new to booking. They are full of the number 2 that goes in the toliet

Very disappointed with my experience. After completing my booking, I was surprised to find that I had to pay an additional fee just to select a seat. This extra charge was not made clear upfront and made the final cost much higher than expected. The booking process should be more transparent about optional and mandatory fees before payment. Please don't book with them they are a scam in my case I booked a flight with them they called me the day before my flight and said we sorry the days you book for are full after they took my payment here the catch they then said we found another airline but u have to pay 450 more I said no they went down to 350 I said no again and they got mad and hung up in which i didnt care cause i have a great bank and i knew i was going to fight it but what they will do is push your reservation back to laters days or even months without your knowledge cause the they have a nun refund policy to make it like you agreed too it so they keep your money they have a F grade with BBB I going thru a dispute with them ask I write this please be careful just because its cheap flight doesn't mean its a good business in which they are not the are all foreigners they are very rude and aggressive when u don't comply to there extortion attempt so please once again be careful with this company they are bad for business they are rude and they are some scamming

Easy Cancellation Package Was Misleading for My Situation

I would not book through SmartFares again. I purchased an Alaska Airlines ticket through SmartFares and paid an additional $35 for the Easy Cancellation Package because I believed it would give me some flexibility if my travel plans changed. Unfortunately, when I needed to cancel my trip, I was told that my ticket could not be canceled. The only refund I received was the $35 Easy Cancellation Package fee. The airfare itself was not refundable, and no future flight credit was available because it was a Saver fare. I contacted Alaska Airlines directly to see if there were any options available. They confirmed that because the ticket was purchased through SmartFares, they could not make any changes or offer any assistance. They also confirmed that the Saver fare had no remaining value as a future flight credit or refund. What disappointed me most was that I paid extra for the Easy Cancellation Package, yet when I needed to cancel, it did not provide the flexibility I expected. I wish the limitations of the Easy Cancellation Package had been explained much more clearly before purchase. My advice to future travelers is to read all the fare rules very carefully and fully understand what the Easy Cancellation Package does and does not cover before purchasing. If the price difference is small, I would strongly recommend booking directly with the airline instead of using a third-party travel agency. It can save a great deal of time, frustration, and uncertainty if your travel plans change.
