Can't get my refund after selling my console 2 days after purchase but they gave me my subscription to game pass back?, I get it they have a policy I never had a problem until I needed money back, seems everyone else has been having problems like this, and their customer service is dumb you're either waiting for hours on the phone or talking to a bot wouldn't even consider it to be AI

Man :/ I’m just tired of this sh**
Long time Xbox player, been enjoying the platform since before I was a preteen. The cost of things is just becoming too much. At one point Xbox Live(Gold) was 5/month. Decent, nothing crazy. They eventually put it to rest. Cost for games has gone up, everything has gone up. They have millions of players. We have lost a large variety of our solo platform games and there’s an increasing amount of paywalls for one thing or another. It’s season this, battle pass that, microtransactions after microtransactions. Enough is enough. I finally cut out subscriptions in my life. Unfortunately that means I become pretty restricted. I couldn’t access my BO3 zombies gobblegums, can’t play campaign co-op on the new Halo, can’t try out Rust console edition after justifying and planning for a 60 dollar purchase for the game. Just to be met with a request for my money every month. Yes, just tack on another bill..
It’s exhausting. The thing that would provide a little escape is no longer a viable option. So little freedoms exist. I do plenty of other things besides videogames and a lot of that is achieved through doing things that cost nothing. Which are wondeful activities. Getting out is important to do, but having this time to play some of my favorite games with some of my favorite people has always made huge impacts. It’s just becoming too costly for someone who rents an apartment on their own making a very middle income in an ever growing expensive hometown.
Xbox, what the hell are you doing to Halo?
I have been a Halo fan from the start, and Cortana was one of the most iconic characters in gaming. She was instantly recognisable. Intelligent, beautiful, feminine, powerful, emotional, dangerous and completely central to the identity of Halo.
Look at Halo 4. That was the apex of Cortana.
She had a face. She had presence. She had personality. You could strip away the blue glow and still recognise her immediately.
Now she looks like a completely different thing!
This is not an upgrade. It is not modernisation. It is not respecting the source material. It is the replacement of an established character with a bland, square jawed, committee designed version that seems terrified of allowing a female character to be attractive.
And before anyone starts crying about “sexualisation”, Cortana was not some helpless decoration. She was one of the most powerful characters in the entire Halo universe. She outthought military leaders, controlled vast systems, defeated enemies Master Chief could not physically reach and eventually became powerful enough to impose her will across the galaxy.
She was sexy and powerful.
She was feminine and terrifying.
She was beautiful and intelligent.
Those things are not opposites.
The idea that women must now be deliberately made less attractive, less feminine and more masculine in order to be considered strong is not progressive. It is insulting. It suggests femininity itself is somehow weak.
Apparently modern writers cannot create a strong woman without making her hostile, smug or desperate to prove she is tougher than the established male hero.
Halo already had brilliant female characters.
Cortana.
Dr Halsey.
Miranda Keyes.
Foehammer.
Kelly.
Linda.
They did not need to behave like caricatures. They were strong because they were well written, capable and believable.
This is the problem with modern Xbox and Halo Studios. They seem more interested in passing the latest cultural purity test than protecting what made Halo special.
Fans are not asking for everything to remain frozen forever. We are asking you to respect the characters, the visual identity and the tone that made the franchise legendary.
Master Chief still has to look like Master Chief.
The Covenant still has to feel like the Covenant.
And Cortana has to look like Cortana!!!
Blue skin and Jen Taylor’s voice are not enough. Cortana had a face, and this is not that face.
Stop “correcting” iconic characters that were never broken.
Stop redesigning women as though beauty and femininity are embarrassing.
Stop writing every strong female character as an angry challenge to the men around her.
And stop treating long term Halo fans like the problem when we point out that the character on screen no longer resembles the one we have known for decades.
Xbox, you are not protecting Halo’s future by sanding away its identity.
You are killing the very thing people loved.
I will not be buying this abomination!

I have been locked out of my Xbox account for 4 months after a password issue. I have attempted to recover it multiple times, and still they keep my account locked down.
They even suggested that I open a new account and repurchase my content.
They have stole thous from me. And they don't care.. If you are reading this, please avoid purchasing an Xbox.

Xbox Series X directly from the Microsoft Store. It installed an update out of the box and now powers off within 15 seconds every time we turn it on. Completely dead on arrival.
Here's the kicker — the return option has been removed from my order page, and Microsoft Sales Support has hung up on us twice when we called for help. No response on any platform, no way to file a claim on the Xbox or Microsoft support sites.
I'm well within the advertised 60-day return window for a defective product. This is unacceptable for a company of Microsoft's size selling premium hardware.
@xbox @microsoft — do better.

Extremely poor support experience.
Extremely poor support experience.
I waited nearly one hour in the queue to speak with an agent regarding a refund for a game that has a critical save bug, making it completely unplayable. After collecting my personal information (name, gamertag, email, and order number), the agent only provided a public refund link that I had already submitted and been rejected from, then ended the chat.
No actual assistance was given. Asking for personal details just to redirect me to an automatic system that had already failed feels completely pointless and shows little respect for the customer’s time.
Very disappointing handling of a clear technical issue.

I was disappointed with my recent experience. An advertisement promoted Xbox online membership for $1, but when I tried to sign up, I was charged $10. Customer service later told me the $1 offer was only for new members, but that restriction was not clear in the advertisement I saw.
I politely asked to speak with a supervisor and requested that the advertised price be honored because the limitation wasn't disclosed. Unfortunately, my request was denied.
I understand promotions can have eligibility requirements, but those requirements should be clearly stated upfront to avoid confusion and wasted time. I hope Microsoft improves the transparency of its advertising and customer service in situations like this.

Warranty expires then Xbox fails; coincidence?
Its crazy how my warranty expired like 3 months ago and now my Xbox has been getting hit with random green screens that make me have to factory reset it for the last two months. One might say it seems to be planned by the programming. Xbox has now become the iPhone of the gaming industry. What a joke Microsoft has become.
The Xbox isn't as great as I expected. While the games run smoothly, the interface is filled with bugs and feels outdated. Plus, I've noticed some game pass options are lacking, which is frustrating given the subscription cost. Not sure it's worth it now.

Don't buy Xbox controllers
Don't buy Xbox controllers, they have horrible stick drift, I went through more than 5 controllers in a calender year. Also, don't buy wireless, the Xbox controller is constantly disconnecting even though I'm closer than 10 ft to the Xbox. Absolutely trash. They want you to have to buy their new products when their fairly new products fail.... which is often. Despicable....

Never by digital games from these rip off merchants!
Bought gears 4 over a decade ago from the Microsoft incentive where you did training and got points. Service closed years ago.
Bought a series S went to buy again. Hold on I have that code for gears 1-3 + judgement. Codes accepted - error microslop.
Phone customer support. Long short I need proof of purchase from themselves over a decade ago because the codes are for 360 store.
I can’t get the receipt your own service shut down. Not our problem then. Yes but I have 4 codes here no expiry, no proof of purchase required. And guess what the 360 games are still sold on the current store now so what’s the issue. No proof of purchase not our problem.
Needless to say I am beyond angry. Let this be a warning to all, digital games are a scam you own nothing. Not a single digital product will ever be bought again from microslop.

Customer Support is a Joke Spend your $ Elsewhere.
I have officially cancelled my Xbox Game Pass subscription purely because of a total nightmare with their customer support. Microsoft double-charged me for my subscription this month. When I went to get it fixed, I spent over an hour trapped in a useless loop of automated bots, dead-end articles, and broken contact forms. To make matters worse, their official support number literally hangs up on you automatically instead of routing you to a person. It is completely impossible to get a real human being on the phone or chat to resolve a clear billing error. I refuse to pay a monthly fee to a multi-billion dollar company that robs you blind and then locks the door so you can't dispute it. I cancelled my membership immediately. The games aren't worth dealing with a company that actively hides from its own customers.

What a useless product
What a useless product. It has linked to a old hotmaill account I haven't used for years, even though I never entered it. Its now asking for permissions for my kid to use a game but I cant do it, no notifications etc. It is useless and I will be returning the piece of junk. The app wont let me check my age as it says it needs permission to use camera, permission is allowed. Avoid..get a ps5 so much easier..
I've been in the Xbox ecosystem for over 20 years. It's had ups and downs but I generally stayed because I liked the lineup of games, the controller, and felt the online services were ahead of the competition. But sadly, after years of poor decisions from Xbox leadership, Microsoft has had to step in to change things up.
You may think of this as a good thing, and from a business (🤑 money makin' 🤑) standpoint it may be... At least in the short term.
Microsoft has made countless decisions over the past 4 years that have continuosly alienated me as a consumer. Now, after they decided to gut one of the most important and prominent studios in video game history rather than repurpose this tremendous talent elsewhere, I'm beyond my wits end. Id software was a pillar of this industry and far more important than the Xbox brand ever was or will be. After Xbox's recent decisions to gut the studio I have lost whatever miniscule piece of respect that was keeping me on this platform.
Xbox is a thin shell of what it used to be, and frankly it's so thin that we can see it's ugly interior without a need to focus.
Steer clear of this company and anything remotely tied to it if possible. I've never owned a Mac but I think I'm ready to cut Microsoft out of my life entirely.
