We apologize for the back orders on your items you needed. We do our best to ensure we have plenty of inventory to fulfill orders but occasionally things do fall into back order status. Thank you for your patience.

Not Happy With Products

I bought everything through Brushy Mountain I needed as a first time beekeeper to get my first hive up and running. The service was fine and the products arrived on time. However, the screened bottom board I received was defective (the brood box did not sit flush on the bottom board - I noticed a small gap between the to pieces in the back. I called and spoke to someone who said that is normal and is for ventilation. I spoke to a few of the experienced beekeepers at the club I belong to and they said it should not be like that. Unfortunately I asked them too late since the bees were arriving the next day. The only thing that saved me from that situation was that I had a slatted rack to put between the bottom board and the the brood box. Secondly, the hive top feeder is a death trap. The bees manage to get under the floats, get stuck and drown. Not bee friendly and it's terrible to have to scoop out a bunch of dead bees every time I feed. And one of the floats no longer sits properly in the well - I'm guessing the wood swelled but that float is now useless and I'm only using one side of the feeder. As soon as the honey supers are added I'm going to get rid of this feeder and purchase one elsewhere. Kind of annoying when I'll probably have to a costly shipping fee to order one item.

Thank you for the review. We apologize for the information that was provided about the bottom board. Typically any gaps due to warped wood is eliminated as weight is added to the hive. If it truly is a gap we would consider that a defect with the item. For the feeder, the floats can be replaced so that you can utilize both sides.

Stickers

The stickers to label honey jars were printed correctly, are good looking, and stick very well. This is my second order and I will continue to use Brushy Mountain for stickers. It takes about 2 weeks to get the stickers, so don’t procrastinate.

Strange packaging.

I ordered an un-assembled box and assembled frames. I thought it strange that the box came with no nails or instructions but the frames which were already assembled came with brads and instructions. The box was easy to assemble and I got nails at Lowe's. Just seemed strange.

Top choice for apiary equipment

Ordered quite a few items from various suppliers to considerably expand my apiary. Definitely liked dealing with BMBF the best. Fast shipping, great quality products. I did have to call regarding a substitute for a back-ordered product, which was a brief, effective and pleasant interaction. Really like the ultimate screened bottom board/hive stands. Having had a much different experience with a major supplier, I will be choosing BMBF in the future when buying more equipment.

My husband has dealt with Brushy…

My husband has dealt with Brushy Mountain Bee Farm, for a number of years, and he is very satisfied with the products, and the sales people. I have also bought a few items from them for my husband, and I can say the same thing, good quality and excellent sales people.
