Janet Baldwin and Oceola McCarty Youth Development Center

Be careful. It is scam likely.

Be careful. They automatically send emails to people in your contacts. You have to agree to this during signup, and it's in the fine print. And when others recommend you, they also suggest paying some fee for their recommendation. This company has really bad practices in advertising and making money.

Misleading signup process

Misleading signup process. DO NOT connect your Google account IT WILL EMAIL EVERYONE!!! I received an email saying my girlfriend had asked me to write her a recommendation. I was in a rush and wanted to help her, so I followed the link and connected my Google account. What I did not realize was that the process would result in recommendation requests being queued to people in my own contacts. I had absolutely no intention of asking anyone for recommendations, I was only there to write one for my girlfriend. Thankfully, I noticed the pending invitations before they were sent, cancelled them, disconnected Gainrep from my Google account, and deleted my Gainrep account. My girlfriend also told me she never intentionally sent the original request to me, and other people she knows received similar emails. I understand that permissions may technically be presented during signup, but the consequence was not clear to me while going through the process. Connecting an account to recommend someone should not leave a user surprised to discover that emails to their own contacts have been queued. I found the experience extremely misleading and would strongly caution anyone to read every permission carefully before connecting their Google account.
