Super imressed with customer services, and like yhe personal touch of who packed your order. I have been using Haybox for a good few years, for my Chinchilla with no issues ever.
My most recent delivery unfortunately had issues, not with Haybox themselves but with the delivery company. The DHL driver in my area seems to be unable to locate my address, when I was I formed by DHL that delivery was refused and to contact Haybox I did and within hours/possibly minutes I was informed of a new delivery being sent out via DPD, which we recieved next day before 10am!
As mentioned I have ordered from Haybox for years and am always impressed with their quality, Kevin (the chinchilla) loves their dandelion root and nibbles bags so we always have them on the order along with some other herbal blends that are safe for him. We do only order the 2kg box, and that lasts a good 5/6 months.
Even though the delivery mishap was not their fault, they rectified immediately. DHL did say the parcel was out again today but was again refused so I hope they are compensated by DHL.
Would recommend!
Great customer service, but my bunnies can't eat apologies (or plastic)
I have been a loyal customer of HayBox for years. At the beginning, they were absolutely amazing. The hay was beautiful, and on the rare occasion there was a hiccup, like the time I received a completely wet batch...their customer service was wonderful, polite, and sent a replacement straight away. No complaints there.
However, over the last .. I would say three years, the actual quality of the hay has drastically gone down. It has consistently become incredibly dusty, full of short, useless pieces instead of the long premium strands advertised. When I complained, customer service gave me a very polite, corporate lecture about "weather conditions" and how they kindly overweigh the boxes to compensate for the dust. Super helpful, except my bunnies haven't learned how to eat powder yet.
They are quick to offer replacement boxes, which is nice, but sending replacements doesn't actually fix the root problem: they aren't working on the actual quality of the hay they are shipping out.
To top it all off, I recently found a massive loop of thick, blue plastic baling twine buried right in the middle of our premium Meadow Hay. For a product that is supposed to be premium and "hand-packed," missing a giant, brightly coloured choking hazard is pretty impressive.
I used yo genuinely love this company's customer service team, but I am incredibly disappointed now with what is actually arriving in the boxes lately. I want to stay a customer, but the quality desperately needs to go back to how it used to be.
Dear Hay Box, your order arrived in the Western Isles this morning, everything top notch - critters are already munching (Guinea Pigs) and making new nests of Timothy Hay (gerbils and hamsters)! Lovely aroma on opening the box - tempted to eat some myself. Will be in touch when we need more. Very happy customer, Many thanks from James
Been using haybox for almost a year now since I got my first rabbit (now have a pair). My first rabbit was mega fussy on hay and would eat barely any (was a rescue mostly fed on pellets for 3 years) and I tried 9 different brands of hay until I got the free taster box of haybox hay and he chose the soft cut one, and we haven't looked back. Sure, it's more pricey than other options, but imo it's worth it for the health and enjoyment of the bunnies, it's really good quality, not dusty and smells lovely. Also if you get at least 5kg it works out pretty good, when I just had the one it easily lasted me 5-6 months, now with two (new one is an avid hay eater) it's about 10-12 weeks, so still not awful. They also absolutely demolish the hay cookies so I often get a good supply of these alongside, and there is also lots of options for toys/chew things. If you make the order over £40 you can get free delivery saving £5 and it will last you a while.
Customer service I am very impressed with too - last order I done I forgot to add a chew mat to it but emailed to ask if it is possible to change the order, and I got a response pretty much immediately changing the order, which also put me at over £40 so I got the delivery taken off worked out cheaper than previously and I got refunded the difference. Dispatch and delivery has always been very quick, no complaints there. I would recommend to anyone.
Have been a customer for a while but I may need to start looking elsewhere. Last few orders have been filled with dust and brown hay mixed in that wasn't as fresh as it used to be. And another order had some spiky grasses that I luckily found before the bunnies could choke on it. The quality seems to be changing.
Deliveries were flawless and the hay smells beautiful, I used them for a while. However the hay doesn't appear to be processed for dust. I'm buying for guinea pigs who are sensitive to dust, so I've decided to switch after worrying about their breathing.
We received another delivery of the 10KG blend today — including dandelion leaves, plantain, coriander stalks, and a pack of Orchard Hay to try — and once again, everything was fantastic.
We’ve been ordering from Haybox for almost a year now, and they have consistently been superb. The delivery is always quick and reliable, and the products are without a doubt some of the best and freshest we’ve found.
The hay, in particular, is outstanding — beautifully green, incredibly fresh, and it smells amazing. What really stands out is that even at the very bottom of the box, it’s just as fresh and vibrant as when you first open it. We’ve tried several other delivered Timothy hay options, but none compare, and many have actually been more expensive.
The same goes for the forage. We’ve purchased from Etsy sellers and other online retailers before, but Haybox’s quality is truly top-tier.
Highly recommended!
Beware of increasing subscription costs without notice
Have been a customer for 5+ years and recently realised that my subscription costs were higher than previously. Found that they have increased the free delivery threshold and have been charging me extra for 2 years; I have never been informed of this change or asked to confirm I'll pay shipping. If you offer a subscription service and use this as an opportunity to extract more money from your customers by hoping they don't notice or regularly check costs, you are very unethical. Would not recommend
Premium quality hay, toys and much more. My bunny absolutely loves everything from Haybox. He cannot even wait for the box to be opened, he goes crazy every time the delivery arrives. Great customer service and very helpful staff! Speedy delivery. Approved by Jordan!🐰💙
They have constantly increased their prices for the last 5 years, however the service level and quality has been constantly declining. They changed courier from DPD to DX recently and have been selling hay dust instead of hay, especially on the soft cut Timothy hay. Charging in excess of £12 easily for a 5kg bag of dusty rubbish, same staff what comes out of a lawnmower. Not a single intact leaf in the bag. Changing supplier as enough is enough. Order number HB708552 on the most recent experience, but the last 5 deliveries have been all the same. Good luck with this attitude.
My bunny’s love this hay its very fresh and natural. I used to get hay from pets at home but the quality of this is so much better. A little on the pricey side but definitely worth it for your buns to eat good quality hay
I dont normally place reviews on things but when it comes to bunnies I feel like I should. My bunny is 3 years old and we have been using haybox for a few years now. Yes its pricey but that just means that the hay is quality! And the enrichment items are amazing aswell. I recently bought some hay and a hay cube, my girl absolutely loves them. The delivery guy was lovely and even placed the box into my house as they are large boxes, a bit awkward to hold lol. Thank you to haybox for never disappointing. I believe if you have had a bad experience with the delivery service that is no where near hayboxes fault as they cant control that !!
I've been using haybox for quite a while now and my two bunnies, one of which is very fussy, absolutely love it.
It has minimal dust content and always smells so fresh. It comes straight in a box, no plastic wrapper, webbing or polyester twine.
We also have to order the fresh forage every month as my bunnies just love it.
Haybox is a great company and you can tell they care about the quality of their products.
I have very picky elderly rabbits and I’ve struggled to find Timothy hay they like. They love Timothy Coarse hay. It’s much fresher and fragrant than other premium hays I’ve tried. Really impressed with the quality.
My guinea pigs love the Timothy hay blend. It’s really fresh and lovely thick stalks so lots of chewing. I would highly recommend this company for product and service.
So far I'm very happy with the quality hay and shipping was very quick. I will be subscribing from now untill further notice. Was on the higher side of what I would normally pay. But I think its worth it. When comparing hay side by side, you can clearly see the healthy difference of hay box club.
One happy customer, two happy bunnies 🐰
I have been buying from haybox for awhile now. I cannot fault any of their products. Customer service is perfect. Sam is wonderful and very helpful, very quick with sorting little hiccups that can happen.
