What people say

I am extremely disappointed with Health Tech Academy

I am extremely disappointed with my experience in the Surgical Technician program at Health Tech Academy. While tuition was collected promptly, clinical placement support — which is required to complete the program — has been unclear, delayed, and difficult to obtain. Multiple attempts to receive concrete information about clinical rotations resulted in vague responses and no clear timeline. Without clinical hours, students cannot graduate or become eligible for certification, making this a critical part of the program. Prospective students should carefully research and get written confirmation about clinical placement assistance before enrolling. Samia Abed

Idk if I can even give you a one star…

Idk if I can even give you a one star review So I finished my surgical tech program in July 2025 and still struggling on my own to find a clinical hours so I can get certified there isn’t any kind of support from the school and no contact it doesn’t matter how hard you try to communicate with the career services they will not respond Over all a waste of my time and money and all the effort

I started my surgical technology…

I started my surgical technology program in May 2025 and finished the courses in Nov 2025. I have been having a hard time trying to get placed for clinicals. All they do is give you a list of hospitals to call yourself to find clinicals with no help. I keep emailing Nayab Tabasum with no help. I’m to the point of doing a class action suit on them. Who all is willing to go with me to start a class action suit against health tech academy

I want to give 0rating

I want to give 0rating. My daughter got no help after payment and there have no real affiliations. Most of them struggle to speak in English and highly unprofessional. She is not getting any support for her placement and we ask for a refund, they keep saying that we are not eligible but they promised the placement. They lie when they give admission about all their commitment. GO FIND A BETTER SCHOOLL!!

I signed up for the Surg Tech program…

I signed up for the Surg Tech program in Nov 2024. Prior to enrolling, I specifically asked if I needed to have experience in the operating room and they said "no". I, also, inquired about externships. The idiot that signed me up stated that they have a relationship with this particular hospital in my area. Later on down the line, I found out that he lied to me. They have zero relationships with hospitals in my very large metro area..NONE. I discovered an extern position available in my area on my own, so I applied. This hospital clearly stated that in order to assist in surgical procedures in this area, you have to be certified/licensed in order to even step foot in the hospital due to the liability. In order to become fully licensed/certified, you have to complete the 125-hour externship. How the heck can anyone complete the externship without being able to enter the room to assist in procedures?? This school fails to tell you A LOT of pertinent information in regards to the externship and so on. Also, they will tell you that they will find your externship in the beginning; however, they will say the opposite later on. They want YOU to do ALL of the leg work. I would advise anyone with ZERO operating room experience to stay FAR away from Health Tech Academy because in order to become certified you MUST have 125 surgical procedures under your belt. I wasted $1750 on this useless program. I feel like I was SCAMMED.

If I could give them 0stars I would…

If I could give them 0stars I would they are a fraudulent company. I waisted my time and they will answer the phone until you are enrolled then boom it takes months to get in touch with them ! When I finally got back in contact with them I had completed my course then when it was time for my certification test they wanted me to pay after I was told that my student loan was to cover that. Also it was so long after I completed my course I asked to take a practice exam and that was it I never heard anything else from them !!!! RUN don't waste your time or your money with this company !!! I’m currently in the process of suing them!!!!! ( That is how bad it is !!!)

Needs some improving

I liked the self paced aspect of the course. It would benefit from having more videos on the education provided. The nurse who spoke at the beginning of each session was helpful in underlining the points in each section but having more videos within the sections about detailed information would be more helpful. I found it difficult to only have slides that I read on VERY basic information on each topic. I found myself referring to the book and basically self teaching. Luckily with the previous healthcare knowledge I have I still think I got enough from the course to succeed in the specialty.

For all those who are currently working…

For all those who are currently working and need a step up in they Careers, this program is the best choice. I enrolled a couple of months ago in Health Tech Academy's Sterile Processing program, and so far, I am loving it. Super supportive team and excellent instructor's.

I had an excellent experience

I had an excellent experience in the Surgical Tech program at Health Tech Academy. The program was well-structured, thorough, and designed to truly prepare students for the real demands of the operating room. The instructors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to take the time to explain concepts clearly. What stood out most was how practical and career-focused the training was—from sterile technique and instrumentation to exam prep and job readiness. I felt confident and well prepared by the time I completed the program. Health Tech Academy genuinely cares about student success, and it shows in the quality of instruction and support provided throughout the program. I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone serious about becoming a Surgical Technologist.

Career Services Team is TERRIBLE

1. I enrolled for Pharmacy Technician Program. This program was very sufficient and diligent. I give the program a 7/10 since it is a go at your own pace program. 2. Payment Plan is absolutely absurd. I recommend paying in full or do not enroll at all. I took the payment plan route, every month I receive 2 invoices. One for the program I am enrolled in, and the other for a program I am NOT enrolled in. 3. Communication and hearing back from almost ALL the departments are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I’ve been contacting the finance department since I started in October of 2025. It is now January 2026 and I’m still receiving double the invoices. They did reach out before the holidays to confirm I would no longer receive the additional invoices but it was fruitless. I STILL receive them for a program I AM NOT ENROLLED IN. 4. I can’t put frustration into words strong enough to describe how infuriating the coaches are. I can say, Miss. Lakeisha is THE BEST lady to have on your team. She’s active, attentive and constructs dilligent meetings EVERY TIME. Now, the career coaches who help build your LinkedIn accounts, resume and career prospects and preparation are TERRIBLE. THE WORST PEOPLE. I’ve had TWO who has consistently showed up late10-15mins for our 30 minute sessions without communication. I’ve had one completely not show up. The other lady, Miss Nayab, had one completed session with me, the second session connection was terrible, she had absolutely NO recollection of our FIRST meeting. It seemed she had NO NOTES or even remembrance of our first career meet. The Second Lady, Miss Malika completely ghosted me and never contacted me to reschedule our meeting AFTER expressing to her my poor experience with Miss Nayab prior. My advice, stay disciplined and focused with your work. YouTube and peers will be your best friend to prepare you for interviews, professional growth, practicing how you speak and annunciate, learning studying habits and giving yourself 3-4 hours daily to work on the chapters and study. The career coaches are not reliable. Miss Lakeisha was hands down the BEST coach I could ever ask for. She gave me amazing feedback and advice on how to advance my career and prepare me for the PTCB exam at the end of the pharmacy technician program.

This school

This school becomes no responsive after they receive the tuition. I have two students enrolled into the surgical tech program. The school called constantly to get them enrolled. Once they received the tuition they stopped answering calls only emails at an average of 5 days of waiting on a response. The students completed the program but there are no clinical sites. It's been 6 mths since the Studenta finished and still don't have a clinical sites. Malika Heider, Career Service advisor is working with the students now to try and obtain a clinical site but it takes a minimum of 5 days for a response back which continues to delay the process of the students completing their clinicals. I don't know who to speak to and get help regarding these two students.

So far not good at all in trying to get…

So far not good at all in trying to get customer service. The business turns ghost and at first I thought I.C.E. officers took the staff down, when anyone working at that business, Health Tech Academy, did not respond to any of my calls or text or emails. But now I figure I had been scammed out of hard earned money. LETS COME TOGETHER WITH A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, TO GET OUR MONEY BACK. And for those of you who gave a 1 star review, face it, you will have to retake the Surgical technician program with an accredited school, to secure your investment and secure your future.
