How was this mis understood?
I was served a summon to appear in court a day different from when The case was filed. I sought a second opinion and was told that I have 30 days from the time I was served….not from when the lawsuit was filed. How is it fair to be served and have to file an answer in 3 days?

No answers, no guidance, no service, ran out the clock and delivered nothing
LegalShield has replied to this review to say that a member of their team "will be reaching out to you directly to provide you with additional support." They already did. Twice in one day, plus a request that I call them back. The first call arrived without warning while I was in a meeting. I had already asked, in writing and on their own form, to be contacted by email. Their intake form offers email as a contact preference. I selected it. I was then told the provider law firm "does not do email." Ironically, that firm publishes an email address on its own website. On that call I was transferred, put on hold, told to call back for asking who my attorney was, placed on hold again, and then disconnected. I answered every one of those calls, including when I was unavailable, and told the caller so at the time. I have supplied every document asked of me and completed every form on the day it was requested. Since last Friday I have asked one question and only one question: the name, telephone number and email address of the attorney handling my matter. It has still not been answered by anyone. So "reaching out to you directly" is not a remedy. It is the thing I am complaining about. Their reply to a complaint about phone calls that consume working hours and produce nothing is to promise another phone call. I am told I am a "valued member." My rating is a reflection of how my membership is valued. One star only because zero is not an option. I brought them a legal matter with a hard filing deadline. What followed was days of nothing. I was passed from one firm to another. Calls came late or not at all. One attempted callback left no voicemail, so I had no way of knowing anyone had even tried. When I called back myself I sat on hold for fifteen minutes. Day after day passed with no substantive answer to a simple question: can you help me with this or not? By the time anyone told me anything, my deadline had all but disappeared. The clock ran out while I waited on them. In the end I researched the matter myself, called the court myself, confirmed the venue and the filing fee myself, prepared the paperwork myself, and paid the bill myself. Every single thing of value in this matter was done by me. That is not legal representation. That is a call center that eventually rings you back. The impression I was left with was indifference. Nobody treated a fixed deadline as urgent. Nobody followed up. Nobody appeared to own the file or feel any responsibility for moving it forward. I was not asking for a miracle or a guaranteed outcome. I was asking for a straight answer in time to act on it, and I could not get one out of them. I also learned that this is not a network of local attorneys, which is what I assumed I was buying. My previous plans through employers let me enter a ZIP code and see actual attorneys in the jurisdiction where my matter sat. With LegalShield I could never establish who was representing me, where they were, or what they were actually going to do. If you are considering this membership, understand that paying the monthly fee does not mean anyone is going to pick up your problem and run with it. Mine sat until it was too late to matter.
