Liberty First Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative. Those who do business with us are known as members. We exist solely to provide our members with affordable financial services; and members work together to achieve their financial goals.We were originally chartered as the Burlington Employees Cooperative Credit Association in 1935 and served the employees of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. Over the years, our field of membership has grown to include family members, retirees, select groups of occupation and association, those living or working in Lancaster or Seward County, Nebraska and those related to a member or someone within our field of membership. Doris was awesome to work with

Doris was awesome to work with. This is my first experience using a credit union and she has made the experience great. She is there to answer even the smallest of questions. I would highly recommend to my friends.

Everyone was very helpful

Everyone was very helpful and organized. We were able to complete our business in an appropriate amount of time. There was a bit of trouble getting paperwork to email from one place to another, but the staff were able to receive and print the needed documents that weren't sending properly through email. Thanks for a good experience.

Matt Johnson in the lending department…

Matt Johnson in the lending department is the man! He continuously astounds me with his customer service, knowledge, and expertise of all things loan related. He’s so personable, friendly, helpful and answers any question I have. He always makes me feel like his number one customer. I would highly highly recommend Liberty First Credit Union for all your banking needs especially Matt Johnson if you’re considering a loan. Matt, if your boss or supervisor reads these make sure he gives you a good bonus or raise!

Have had an account for over a decade…

Have had an account for over a decade and it’s just been a hassle. The mobile app and online experience and options are unacceptable for it being 2025. Mobile deposit, ApplePay, instant transfers are all difficult or impossible. If you leave the state, you have to call them so that your card doesn’t get declined. Ironically, the only financial institution that I have ever experienced fraud with among the nearly dozen I have used is, you guessed it, Liberty First. Twice. So “protections” are there to make banking difficult for the customer but do not actually keep your account secure. There aren’t any redeeming qualities to make up this these inconveniences. Do not use.

This is the only bank I know who…

This is the only bank I know who doesn't immediately send you a debit card as soon as you set up your bank account. And then on your website it says if you need a debit card all you have to do is go into a branch and they can print you one off so I went into a branch and they informed me that they didn't have any to print off they didn't do that and then they would have to send me one in the. Which is fine I understand that you have to usually have to get them in the mail but I don't know why your website says one thing and then you do another. I moved over to this bank because I thought it would be a good banking experience and thus far it's been mostly a headache. More

However, we understand how important it is to have quicker access to your card, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay. Due to unexpected stock shortages, we have encountered delays in issuing instant debit cards at some of our branches. We understand how important it is to have access to your card quickly, and we are actively working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. The ladies that help me open my account…

The ladies that help me open my account were very nice and very helpful I wish I would have went there a long time ago to open an account but I am glad that I have one now thank you for everything
