There are lots of options when choosing software to do video conversions. I've tried a lot of them, and purchased more than one. MacX Video Converter Pro is the one that gives the best results, even better than ffmpeg on the command line (which is extremely dicey to get right) and Handbrake (which I used to rely on heavily).
I needed to convert a physical DVD (not copyrighted) to an MP4 and was having no success finding software to do that during a “trial” phase. Although I am computer literate, I have very little experience with videos and was looking for software that was straight-forward and simple to use. I contacted customer service and received a reply the next day (on Sunday) as to what to change in the settings. The suggestion worked great and I purchased the software. Kudos to the company for providing excellent customer service and software that is understandable and easy to use.
I've been using MacX DVD Video Converter Pro for years mainly to create reliable MP4s from my full-sized MOVs created out of FCP. Also great for DVD ripping and a host of other functions. Support has been great too.
The program does exactly what it is supposed to do, quickly, with few glitches. I also appreciate the ability to burn subtitles into my videos.

I recently lost my hard drive with the MacXDVD program. When I contacted customer support they were quick to reply with a solution which allowed me to reinstall and register the program. Their rep, Adam, was polite and supportive and imho this company prices products fairly and stands behind their licensing!

I recently contacted Digiarty customer support for help reactivating MacX DVD Ripper Pro (which I think is a great program) because the license key was not accepted when installing the program on my new computer. No matter what I tried, it didn't work. In less than 7 hours (!) I already received a response from Digiarty with the solution to the problem. My account was reset and instantly the problem was solved, reactivation succeeded and MacX DVD Ripper Pro worked as before. To summarize: the same working day my problem was solved by fast and expert help from the customer support team. A big compliment, and for those who don't use their software yet an absolute purchase recommendation!
I was looking for software to digitise my DVD collection because I travel a lot internationally and just can't carry my favourite physical DVDs around with me. Also, I have a MacBook Pro and can't play DVDs from all Regions on it. My DVDs are from Australia, Europe, Asia and USA. Converting all of my DVDs to mp4 files was a breeze and the Region code restrictions are removed as part of the process. Average 15-20 minutes each DVD for me. Once the MP4 conversion process is finished, you need to hit "Clear" on the dashboard before you start with a new DVD, otherwise the dashboard becomes messy. I liked the subtitle inclusion process - super easy. I think this product is well worth the money. I am super grateful that it exists. Their Help desk representatives are extremely helpful.

its not the fastest with the M2... then again i have 8 / 10 gpu cores... so not a mac pro. i am finding more and more dvds barely work after a year or two so i always back them up anymore. i have a stack of dead ones.. maybe 20 or so. backing them.. i won't need to re-buy them. that is why you obtain this software..
